  1. I think the difference is that he is showing the defender more often that he is able to go outside him, once they have to worry about that as well as him going inside he has much more chance to get a shot away. He looks very sharp again as well, I wonder if wear and tear was taking a toll on him last season? He’s another one who is still pretty young to have played so many games and be a regular every week.

Aye, I missed that point. He was far to predictable last season, that doesn't seem the case anymore. I'd agree about the wear and tear, I also think there was a lot of weight on his shoulders last season aswell, after having such a good season previously.

  2. If you've got a right footer on the left wing, you expect them to be coming inside and shooting, as you know they're going to struggle to consistantly provide good crosses. Taylor didn't do this enough, if at all, last season, which is why some fans started to become frustrated. During the summer he has clearly worked on this, and grown the confidence to get a shot off whenever he can. At the moment, this is paying off, so i'd definitely keep him out there.

  3. So the message from the club is 'Sit down and shut up? dont make a noise unless you are a visiting fan.

A feckin nannny state, thought we lived in the UK not a old style soviet union.

    Joke club

Why? If people are going to charge the barriers whenever we score and throw stuff at Cheltenham fans (Cheltenham fans for gods sake!), then something like this was bound to happen.

  4. I think some people forget the Eardley is still only 19. Yes he is inconsistant at times but all young players are. Eardley will go on to play at a higher level, hopefully with us. He is definately good enough to play in the championship and if he plays alongside better players then who knows he might go on to play in the premiership. He is 19 has played about 80 league games and if you include cup games he will be almost at 100 first team games, thats not bad for a teenager. Add to that he has played several times for his country. Give the lad a break, yes he makes mistakes but everyone does - even Hughes, Taylor and Hazel - and if you look at him after he's put a bad cross in no-one is more frustrated about it than him. He is 19 years old, he will carry on improving and he will get more consistant

But surely if he's played almost 100 first team games, and played international football, then he should at least have mastered the basics, ie keeping in position or passing to a teammate? He will get better, but at the moment I feel he's a liability and i'd feel more comfortable if we was on the bench.

  5. Wrong.

He can tackle (more than can be said for a lot of defenders at this level), he has some pace, he can pass a ball forwards or clear out of defense if he needs to. He is an intelligent and aware player. He is very rarley caught out of position and if he is, its usually because he has been attacking when another player should be covering him. Team game here...

He's constantly out of position. Where you not at the Millwall or Dale games, where he got run ragged for 90 minutes? For most of the games he was practicley at centre back. I'm not normally one for slagging off our own players, but i'm afraid Eardley is the exception. Simply not good enough.

  6. I just can't see what all the hype is about. His positioning is awful, he's not a great defender, his passing and crossing are diabolical. The only thing he seems to have going for him is a good shot; who needs a right back with a good shot though? I don't think it's fair to start threads on individuals, but I think some people need to see the light and realise he's just not good enough...

  7. I unfortunately have that common surname; taylor, and a brother called chris! And as I'm sure you can imagine whenever chris taylor gets mentioned on T.V. I always get the same crap. "oooh i'm famous" "oh look, I scored!"

As I'm sure this won't bother the rest of you, I feel I should also mention he's a scum "fan"!

    any offers lol!

    I'll bring me shotgun
