If we move out of the borough of Oldham it is exactly the same. The distance is irrelevant, be it 80 yards or 80 miles. Oldham Athletic belongs in Oldham. Take it out and it is Oldham Athletic no more.
i think we all know we will probably go under if we stay in oldham, just like it became impossible to stay at BP its becoming increasingly impossible to stay in oldham. i used to have to mind set that if we go away from oldham then i wont support the team until recently. we realistically have little other option, so if we :censored: off to another town ill still be there supporting the team regardless of if its oldham athletic or not

Quick question, are we going to go into administration next season?
Selling Taylor might save us in the short term. But Reid / Evina / Morais / White's (etc) contracts are until the end of this season leaving us with no real sellable assests in the playing staff.
If we don't go up or get to Old Trafford in the play off finals, I'm struggling to see where we are going to get our revenue needed to stay solvent.
IMO, only way out of it is to bring back the stay aways to BP, but not going to happen while it's stupid expensive to go to a ground in the state it currently is.Thoughts please?
we are losing money charging 20 quid, we will lose a lot more money charging any less, might get a few extra but i will guarentee we will not make up the money we are losing.
and is 20 quid too much? no it isnt

My mate did a stormer Vs Blackpool from back in the Shez Era – Neal Danns was like, 40 yards out from goal and shaped to shoot – my mate balls ‘go on then billy big balls, shoot from there’. Danns did and it was a stunning goal, my mate went redder than Taggarts nose after a red wine session celebrating another injury time win!! Classic.I had a quick chat with Neil at the Palace-Swansea game a couple of months ago. I mentioned that it was one of the top five goals I've ever seen at Boundary Park. He remembered it well.He should remember it. The bicycle kick from last season withstanding; I bet he hasnt scored many better.......
was speaking to him the other week about that goal, he said its the best he scored because the bicylcle kick was more instint. one of the best goals ive seen at boundary park

Two teenagers have been charged over a fire at Oldham Athletic Football Club.
A 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with arson on Thursday 4 November 2010.
They are due to appear at Oldham Youth Court on Friday 12 November 2010.
The charges relate to an incident on Sunday 22 August 2010 where a pallet was set alight inside the ground on Furtherwood Road, Oldham.
The fire spread to the match-day hospitality suite and the disabled area of the ground, causing £100,000 worth of damage.

Ok we know Hasney Aljofree and we know he has local links so we may just be doing him a favour but who the hell are Berny Francis and Vinny Smith???
Sound like a couple of bouncers! Not employees of Vance Miller are they?
might be me but isnt it a bit weird that aljofree is playing for our reserves when he is still contracted to swindon?
i hope we are not looking to sign him as left bck isnt the position that we need to strengthen

i commend simon for sticking up for himself!!
fair play if the guy had said something about the team or match
some of our fans really are knobs!

Is an actual joke!
I bothered to watch it for once yesterday, to catch the Latics highlights, if you can call them Latics highlights! What I got was a crappy 30 second reel, with a completely biased commentator raving about how happy Latics were to defend (this was the 85th minute, drawing away against one of the sides who'll be promoted this season, of course we were going to defend in the final stages!), it basically showed 4 Charlton chances, not a single Latics effort, and they didn't even mention that we had a perfectly good goal ruled out!
They don't know anything at all about the lower leagues, the Five Live team claimed that neither side could buy a win recently, completely ignoring the fact that (before yesterday) we'd won 3 out of the last 4, then the FLS claimed that Charlton were held by 'mid-table Oldham!' Mid table, FFS?! We're 2 points off 6th!!
It was hardly as if we didn't have any chances, either, Charlton had 14 efforts overall, we had 11, yet they made it out as if we didn't have a single half chance!
That show is a complete disgrace, I though the BBC was supposed to be impartial, instead they only ever focus on the 'big' teams!
agree.... was really dissapointed with the show last night!

Scott Vernon V Man City
i remember a free kick david eyres scored, think it was against plymouth.. the keeper was out of position but still it was a terrific free kick
also simon charlton V gillingham even though it was a bit of a fluke

I can never tell if something is meant to be an insult because I feel like I need a translator to understand half the things that are written in these posts.
no i dont think any of it is meant to be insulting. just the rubbish english humour
but to be fair i don't get half of the posts people on here write haha

WARNING: This may depress those in danger of losing the Faith.

i wasnt at the game but watching the highlights it looks like the 1st n 3rd were good goals that you have to stand up and clap and the 2nd was brill's fault. not as bad as people are making out on here and after watching the highlights there doesn't seem too much to worry about, just need to stop the individual mistakes.
