  1. Deckyd - I believe that Leeds' training ground (Thorpe Arch I think, near Wetherby) is quite possibly one of the best youth complexes in the country - fit to rank with Arsenal's, Manchester United's and Liverpool's, also heard that clubs like Leeds and Arsenal are putting back the emphasis into football; first touch, creativity and such, unlike physical attributes such as build, strength, speed and such. Even though it's Leeds, I wish your nephew the best of luck with them. Also sent an email to the club, and received a very prompt reply from Tanya Blakey - a nice lady from the sounds of it who said she'll pass my e-mail onto the scouts at the club. Well done OAFC for quick efficiency on this one!
  2. I'll give the club an email. I really do think this kid is the something else for his age. Real nice lad too, modest as anything, but what impresses me the most is his football brain. How on earth someone local like Leeds, Bradford or Huddersfield haven't heard about this lad is astonishing. Think he could be a great player in the future if hes nutured by a club over the next couple of years.
  3. Hi all, life-long Latics fan, long time reader, only waited till now to register and post because I'm curious about something. Right, I will get to the chase. I play with a young footballer who's 17, a free-agent (think he has trial with a Championship club next month) and is far superior to any other 17 year old I've played with before. I play at a place called Rossett Sports centre every fortnight on a friday night at a very good level, one or two former pro's there on a half pitch where this young lad called plays, in midfield, only just started playing with us as he plays in his own age group the hour before. I'm a lifelong Oldham fan and REALLY think we should look at him. I've played over the years with a lot of young kids (17, 18) who've been on the books of club's at Leeds and I think he's the best yet. His passing and creativity is very, very high for his age. He's very, very quick, passing short and long is always spot on, strong, and a leader, despite us all being older than him. He's a central midfielder i think, spoke to him a few times and he doesn't have a club and just enjoys playing football. I really think this kid could be the real deal and a hiden gem who could be massive for the club. how do i get in contact with the club to alert them to this young lad before someone else does elsewhere? cheers john 'mon the latics.
