  1. San Francisco's a cool place. Literally cool as well! lol GREAT nightlife there and if your only there for maybe a week, plenty to see during the day's. Don't know if I'd bother with the Tenderloin area (unless you like TV street walkers? Maybe its your thing).

I prefer San Diego for the weather, beaches (Do you agree La Jolla is the best beach in California Sara?), you can go across to Tijuana for a wild night, the town itself is pretty good and there's plenty of bars around.

I love love love La Jolla  . I even bought perfume from a tiny boutique in La Jolla that's supposed to smell like...."La Jolla". It's beautiful. And I feel like everyone is always proposing there.

  2. I think you'll be opening up a can of worms with that one.

Speaking of LA. I think I'm headed there on a holiday next summer. Better be better than what people I have spoken too have described it as!

Where in L.A. are you headed? We live a little north of West Hollywood (the Hills). We can take you to get the best Mexican food in Melrose: Tere's Mexican Grill. It's amazing.

I love L.A. mainly because my family is based in Beverly Hills and I went to school in Orange County...so I guess I was just thrown there. Though I've lived in New York City and my parents have a house in Indiana which is very very different from L.A. and a nice retreat. And I agree, there are many other places in the U.S. that are beautiful and good places to visit -- I'm just partial to the city of angels

Open up that can of worms!

P.S. As for local islanders re-enacting Latics moments: there's a famous homeless guy on the island that everyone calls "Bob" and I have video of him talking about the Latics. It's hilarious because the lights are definitely on, just not sure if there's anyone home...

  3. IS it legal to have a beer in sight of the ground in the Cayman Islands? I'm thinking of those Jacuzzis they have beside some cricket grounds in the Windies

It's definitely legal to walk around the Cayman Islands with alcohol. In fact, it's pretty commonplace as the island brings in about 3 cruise ships of tourists a day. Strip clubs though, definitely not legal...sorry boys. x

  4. haha at least your around people im the only person in the whole building writing my dissertation which is in for friday. I think im gonna end up sleeping here in the office :petesake:

I hear ya...I've spent so many nights at the hospital, pulling all-nighters, cramming useless viruses mnemonics into my brain, dealing with patients that don't want to listen to doctors. It can be absolutely awful. Hang in there! xx

  5. Have converted any of your classmates into Latics fans yet? Ive tried and failed many a time :disappointed: We just dont seem to have the same appeal in England as we do in the Cayman Islands!

We don't really know our classmates because there are always different people in our courses. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I'm currently doing rotations for medical school -- anyway, people here are very scientific and cold and life is very dreary. Another reason this is all very enjoyable. xx

  6. I dont normally post on here much, i just tend to read the threads, which are usually full of doom and gloom but i've followed this thread with interest, i've enjoyed the video's and you've certainly lightened up the mood in this forum anyway.

    Congrats girls.

Thank you! That's very sweet -- I love reading this thread, it cracks me up every morning when I read through the posts in the back of my classes. xx

  7. The only thing more unbelievable than Laker girls becoming Latics fans, travelling across the world to watch them (I needed the cartoon in the Sun to fully grasp what that meant), baking Latics cakes and making videos about OWTB posters is the fact that the Corp hasn't commented on this thread about the inevitable spiraling of the club into obscurity.

    I've seen everything now.

Who is this Corp that everybody keeps talking about? I feel as though I should be highly intimidated by this guy??

By the way, Laker girls love baking cupcakes -- it's all we used to do on the tourbus. Haha xx

  8. Offside is all you need to know really...thats why footballs the beautiful game, so simple!

Keep the videos coming they make a nice distraction from dissertation writing. If you make enough of them E4 or Living TV will probably give you a series!

We're definitely learning to love football. At the gym last night, they were showing a football match and the guy on the treadmill next to me kept screaming "He's offside!"....and I knew what he meant.
