  1. We have the 2nd highest pitch in the country and get much harsher weather than most. We are after all on the edge of the pennines.

Third - West Brom and Port Vale.

I saw the Carlisle pitch on the TV last Sunday in the FA Cup tie with Everton. If you recall that was under water nearly up to the crossbars - and it looked bloody good to me. This club is scrimping in all areas and the results are there for all to see.

  2. Heard Corney say previously the virtues of giving someone a second chance, served their time etc. Just out of interest then, if he is consistent with his views, is anyone aware (no names obviously) of Latics intentionally employing an ex-con on the non-playing staff since Corney took over? I'd like to know if this rehabilitation policy applies to all, or specifically ex premier league players who can be be picked up for peanuts thus saving a fortune on fees and wages?

  3. There are many who have been preaching doom about eveil Mr Corney for many years. These :censored: are still waiting in the wings to say told you so whether it be 5, 10 15 or 20 years before he leaves.

It doesn't make you a ":censored:" to share a different opinion about Corney's tenure at the club. Back in 2004, I'm sure we didn't envisage fellow fans hurling profanities at one another some ten or so years later. What it proves is that opinion is pretty much polarised and how devisive a tenure it has become. For my part, I don't believe a word Corney utters anymore; latest example an interview not a week ago where he said it was a decent start to the season, and then the manager is sacked a few days later. I could go on (new stand, Evans, Hughes etc) but it's all been well documented so you make your own choice.

Advice for Westy : protesting about Owen is pointless, he's a symptom not the cause. Bringing in a new club spokesperson will just be re-arranging the deckchairs on the titanic. If you want real change Corney et al must depart.

  4. i wish him the best, however when will corney see that owen is ruining our club.if it was the victorian times and he was in the army he would be given a gun and put in a room.if he was japanese he would be expected to commit hari kari and if he was in the south seas he would be put in a pot and eaten

From today's online Chron - seems Owen is in a stew in more ways than one!

  5.

    I'll bet that he's on a Pharoah(ld) salary...

But he'd have to be in deNile to think that it's a good career move.

Hope he Sheiks things up out there....

    Mesphinx he is.

Their forwards are Wilson Kepple and Schmelz..they will lead any opposition a merry sand dance.

At least if he gets injured there'll be plenty of "Cairo"practors to help out. The manager has told him he's playing in the Valley of the Wings - ok I'll stop now ! :clint:

  6. As long as the money goes towards improving the manager's kitty for the transfer windows I don't really mind

Exactly :coffee1: I've seen comments such as this is like a guaranteed cup run every year......well hang on these last few years we have had some pretty bloody good cup runs and the bottom line is that very little of the additional revenue has been invested back in the team. Hopefully the penny has finally dropped that crowds will only return to BP if there is a successful product on the pitch.

  7. Find it bizarre how some like to play tragedies off against each other. Each one has its own significance, cause and ramifications. Thanks heavens there hasn't been one involving our fans and last week's match at Bradford should bring it home to people that we are one football family.
