  1. If you like loud then you ought to attend an AC/DC gig. :omg: You will probably lose all enthusiasm for any other gig mind, that's the price I have paid.

    :headbang:

My Bloody Valentine were the loudest I've ever heard - lost me hearing for a week. Big up for the Latics Rude Bwoy showing the flag during the Specials. Couldn't help but do some running on the spot. Top Tunes!

  2. In the early 90's I worked for Elf Atochem and visited for a global meeting at their Corporate office in Philli.

Anyway one of my U.S. colleagues took me for a drive around Philli after the second day of the meeting.....more of a case of me saying "Any chance of a look around while I'm here".

Anyway on the biggest mistakes I have ever made a totally frightening place, not dowtown but the backstreets of Philli.

I remember telling him saying to him after about 15 minutes into the "backstreet tour" ."Get me the :censored: out of here"

You should try Detroit, murder capital of the US. It is what I would call "interesting" especially late at night whilst drunk!! It's the only place where I've been offered a blow job for a dollar by a crack addict in a wheelchair. Was I tempted I hear you ask? Not when I saw her teeth which were black rotted stumps.

  3. Dont see how I missed the point there, im explaning why i dont go to FA cup games.

And as for my duty as a Latics fan??? Sorry mate but I dont think myself or any of us on here need lecturing off you about what we should and shouldnt be doing as latics fans. You really do seem to try to put yourself on a higher cloud than most latics fans. Some fans have to pick and choose there games due to money constraints and family commitments.....

As long as you make a resonable effort to go to as many game as you can then your good in my book.

Hear hear! Some of us have money constraints you know and as much as I love the Latics (31yrs watching them through thick and thin) I can't afford to blindly pay £19 to go to every game, plus travel, etc., etc. That does not make us any less worthwile fans!!!! As for kicking sand in the TTA's faces - :censored:

  4. I got into Liverpool at about 2.30, so spent the day wandering around, having the odd pint and pie, and remembering what a fantastic city it is, only to be blighted by being full of Scousers. It's a long time since I've felt unable to go to the gents in a boozer without taking my stuff with me, one place I was in there was no way in the world I was going to use the usual routine of asking someone to look after it. The most delightful experience though was when I was trying to buy my ticket for the local train, I asked the bloke which train was best for Prenton Park and the tosser made me stand there for 5 minutes whilst he slagged Hughes off. Eventually I just started preaching Biblical (mis)quotations about forgiveness and repentance.

I also happened across a pub 10 minutes from the ground where I had a quick chat with the landlord and a few locals. Talk turned to Graeme Souness, at which point the landlord told me he'd shagged the Dark Lord's missus, before she married him but when they were going out. Good lad! He also had an interesting take about what caused Dalgleish to "lose the dressing room," at Liverpool. Well, who'd be happy if this chap was making himself over-comfortable round your place when you were away :blink:uglyvk3.jpg

    Surely that's Peter Beardsley?

  5. I used to love the song we sung to the tune of Andy Williams' Can't take my eyes of you, unfortunately I never got to know the words!

Best song ever though; sung to the tune of Yellow Submarine by the Beatles; was by Newcastle fans, to the then Sunderland manager, Peter Reid:

In a land where I was born,

There was a town called Sunderland,

And in the Town lived Peter Reid,

Who had a monkeys heid (think of the accent)

Peter Reid eats bananas with his feet,

    Eats bananas with his feet,

    Eats bananas with his feet.

Peter Reid eats bananas with his feet,

    Eats bananas with his feet,

    Eats bananas with his feet,

    Quality. :laught16:

  6. Isn't good technically? He controls the ball instantly, he can pick out a pass (a massive plus for centre halfs in this division) he wins headers, hes good in the tackle and he doesn't back out of 50/50 challenges and he doesnt hoof the ball unless he needs to, though i do agree he does sometimes get caught out of position. His only downside is his injury record - oh and his new haircut, he looked much sexier before he had it cut

His missus isn't bad either - grrrr.

  7. Trains aren't running from greenfield cos of engineering works. I believe it's going on for a week or so. There is however a rail replacement bus to marsden (the next stop) and a train from there. It won't take too much longer. That's what i'll be doing.

Top pub in Marsden the Riverhead Brewery, right in the village centre. Real ale if that's your kinda thing or normal lagers if that's your bag. Also next to the railway station is the Railway Inn. However the Riverhead Brewery is highly recommended! :drinking:
