  1. From the gills forum...

'Credit to Oldham. Gave it a real go and were well worthy of their point. I thought their front two were the best we've seen this season. Classic combination of a big lump and a quickie playing off him. Very effective. Higson was the difference for me - we just couldn't deal with his aerial threat.'

Lets hope this is the start of a decent partnership that can catapult us up that league

  2. Brown, Mills and B Wilson will all overlap if allowed to tactically.

Jones and Winchester are box to box midfielders waiting to be let of the leash.

Poleon and Turner can run at players, as can Philliskirk if he gets his mojo back.

I think we lack a physical presence up front but the bulk of this squad can deliver exciting and attacking football.

    If they're allowed to.

Agreed. As DK has said nucleus of a good side is already in place. Just needs a few additions and moulding of a brand/style that can be attractive and succesful

  3. This is not lost on me either..... One of the first questions I want asked is.... Did you apply for this job or were you approached on a recommendation? If he answers the former, I want to know why he showed such disrespect to a club that gave him a job that was a clear step up from his previous one?

Oh my god. This is all getting very very silly.

  4. Fantastic news all round. Little by little change by change we are moving forward. EVERY business needs it. Instead of negating this one pointless aspect can we not just celebrate a great new stand opening, and the start of what we hope to be a superb recognisable brand in the OEC. This situation is for the good of the club as a whole surely

  5. Marlon King Barnet F.C. Wounding 80 hours community service Fraudulent use of vehicle license, theft fined £280 Credit card fraud Community rehabilitation order Gillingham F.C. WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK??

  6. This cannot happen, absolutely not.

I have argued with all sorts of people about this; my position is that it should be down to each club whether they take a punt on the bad karma he brings, but that he should be able to play if he can find a club willing to take on such toxic baggage. If a club are that morally bankrupt then it would say more about them than anything else. Never did I seriously think that we'd be that club.

There is no way that we should even contemplate this. I pray that the club are looking at this board and taking heed; I will not be watching him ever.

    This is utterly despicable.

I'm sorry, but we sold our soul to the devil when we signed Lee Hughes on a permament contract. WE ARE THAT CLUB. We made a conscious decision to sign a man to our club, knowing that he had killed and destroyed a family. I would put my house on it that every single poster (including you) in this thread either a) chanted his name b ) cheered his goals ; or c) supported the club through that episode.

    That should never be forgotten.

Does that make us morally bankrupt as you put it? maybe. Is it that enough time has passed that we can just forget that board decision?

For the record, however,I dont believe we should be signing this player. Wrong message. Once, we made a mistake. twice, We are altering our club culture. 'Family club status' goes out the window and will stay that way.

  7. Agreed, although I wouldn't say terrible. He looked lethargic at first, late to react etc. but he really needs experience to play with. Mellor and Tarky looked like rabbits in headlights far too much. The only thing I can't get my head around us how Derby didn't score 3 or 4.

Get an imposing defender in and we're a decent team. As it is we'll dick teams some weeks, and get rinsed on other weeks.

I'd also agree with that Frankly. Tarky is NOT a scapegoat or the designated 'boo boy' like someone on this topic has just suggested. Its just frustrating seeing the same mistakes over and over. I think he can, if he is able to cut out the errors and increase his concentration, become a decent CB at this level but no more. That will be suitable for us for now. He has good attributes and tonight he had a lot of work to deal. We can take a lot of positives from tonight but I feel we are so lacking defensively it is blinding. I'm still confident LJ sees this and will rectify it in the coming weeks.

  8. Tarky? Excellent?.. Was I watching a different game? For the life of me I am sat here scratching my head. The lad really needs to begin learning from his mistakes. He NEEDS somebody who can organise him as his reading of the game at present is terrible. Can that improve with care and training or is it an instinct you are born with as a defender. Sorry but tonight he was terrible.... IMO

  9. I noticed some of the players in the city game had made a 'cut' in the collar of the new 'HOME' kit.

After buying it a few weeks ago i was going to consider doing this as it so irritating. Just dont wan it to turn into a waistcoat!!

The rest of the shirt is fine but the collar is so tight.

Any one else had this problem? I dont really want to change it or refund it, as i do like the kit itself

  10. I would happily give him a piggy back all the way from Bristol to BP , easily one of the best central midfielders to wear the shirt in the last ten years.

On another subject , Judas porter looks set to leave sheff u after falling way down the pecking order , without opening a can of worms would you take him back ?

    He can f*ck right off
