  1. So based on that, you're happy for the club to write off roughly £1500??

I was talking more in general I know 1500 for Latics and teams in a similar mess to us is a fair amount of money but 70 % of the 92 FL clubs arent going to miss that sort of cash. And i was thinking along the lines of 60 visitors @£20 tonight or a potential 100@£2 being a £1000 loss. But yeah even that, doing the maths now i realise it is actually more significant figure than i thought when i made the earlier post :thinking2:

  2. Doncaster away on a Friday night a few years ago (their last ever night game at belle vue). Game was :censored:e i recall ending 1-1, waiting an hour 30 mins for a train from Doncaster to Sheffield, once in Sheffield we were told it was replacement busses- didnt turn up until past midnight. Got into Piccadilly must of been 1am, just missed the last tram back to Bury, the busses were off for the night and i had a fiver in my back pocket and my friend at this very point realised he had lost his wallet.

Met some Irish homeless drunk who offered us a "bed" in Chorlton bus station, said he knew the security lad, freezing cold we took him up on this, got to the doors and there were 5 or 6 more pissed up scrotes begging for money. Ended up offloading most my fags and then walking around Manchester for a good 4 hours before sleeping in the doorway of the cooperative main offices just off victoria station! First tram to Bury was around 5/6am, missed that, had another hour to wait for the next one. Home at 7:45am ish, 12 hours after the match kicked off!

  3. In the world of football such behaviour now meets with incredibility and laughter!!

completely agree withg you in most instances, but as said above for a loan player whos long term loyalties lie elsewhere, to show the club that from his and his parent clubs POV is simply just giving him an education in english football , that sort of passion is still very pleasing

  4. Fair play to the lads that had top take trains, busses and taxis to watch 90 minutes of 3rd tier football.. true supporters.

And fair play to the PA bloke at Dagenham for a little piece on the factor 50 charity before the game much appreciated.

And absolutely bang on about there being more noise in the social during the London derby than at any point during the 90!!

  5. my thoughts exactly, forget leicester, sheff wednesday, southampton all these big clubs with state of the art premier league standard stadiums weve played over the past couple of seasons, stanley are a proper football club in a proper lancashire town with proper supporters and yesterday was one of the best aways ive done in years.

just let down abit when a few of our hoolies clashed with some wigan lads at blackburn station.

  6. Another fantastic point away from home, 8 days i go i was expecting us to be languishing a point or two above relegation, but 3 fantastic away performances and 4 more points than most of us could have hoped/expected. I hear about 300 Latics made the trip tonight, well done lads and Penney i have knocked him all season but he has at least earned his wage over the past 10 days or so
