I'd rather a northern team with the Football League Trophy than a southern team, or a mad Italian bloke.
Best of luck to Chesterfield and to Shez.
TOP POST

Gutted for the younger fans , they deserved the day at Wembley. Surprised how hollow I feel , thought I would be ok.
Top effort tonight , but we really have blown a great opportunity to win a trophy , we will never ever get an easier one.
How poor must we have been at their place ?
First half was fantastic , non stop attacking football , Morais was at his very best along with Simpson , but unfortunately our centre forward is so out of form.
Second half I thought Simpson was head and shoulders above everyone else , he will have gone down in some many scouts notebooks watching on the box......he won't be hereafter May unfortunately imo , an awesome player.
As for the goal .....
Agree mate 100 %

Mr. Chesterfield - no more shouting please. I've asked nicely.
Fair enough but I'm a 65 yr old and the old mince pies are failing, the caps-lock helps in the ON position.
-
so have you been shouting everyday since you beat us at your place? You must be very annoying to work with
I work for myself my friend so no-ones annoyed.

not bad
Chesterfield 957.

We could still be playing now and we wont have scored. Where's our next goal coming from ? How many touches do we need on the edge of the box
Hard to believe we put 5 past them . Absolute toothless.
Kuqi is half the player he was
Smith isn't cutting it for me but isn't getting long enough
Simpson is playing too deep aswell
Only 2 players on the field tonight that were playing in the 5-2; Lowry left midfield was brought back from Crewe loan deal for his first game of the season and big changes are afoot in the playing personel.
Was Simpson injured - no long range shots tonight.
-
Whatever Matt we battered you over two legs. You would think the better team would go through over two legs. Footballs a funny game.
I'd agree totally with that statement and I couldn't believe some of the negative stuff leading up to the game by some posters.
You were unlucky over both legs and we were lucky but we deserved it. We had some horrible luck with injuries first half of the season so maybe things are looking up. It's terrible to lose guys with such a prize beconing but someone has to win and I'm thankfull that we've made it.
Thanks for tolerating me over the weeks - best of luck from now on. Dave.

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?
THAT'S WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU WIN..........

Fine Young Ultra's sounds rather catchy I must admit
There's an alternative CHAV'S FROM THE CHADDY END.

Well if they want to book train travel using this link it would help .
Bus from Piccadilly Gdns to Oldham might be best. 24, 182, 181.
Good luck getting home the same night! I think 22:24 is the latest train back to Chesterfield from Manchester - that's pushing it after a penalty shoot-out defeat . There's a couple of lodge type hotel places within walking distance of the ground.
Thanks for that.

There's nowt but the Moon in the town center. The pub is ok but the town itself is depressing.
They have a very spaceous supporters bar at the ground guys - good food inside but slow at serving. Parking adjacent to the ground - sign-posted from the A1.
-
Quite a few taking the train option on Monday - what is the best way tp BP from Piccadilly ? or is there a better option - thanks.
-
Ano, we have the occassional 'Oh when the Blues' chant for about 10 seconds every few years
We could all join in it'd sound rate good then.
-
Don't get to cocky dip:censored:. You have still got mark allott in centre mid.
NOT FOR MONDAY THOUGH DIP-:censored:E II.

Granted they've won tonight but the stats don't show a team who dominated the game. 3 shots on target and 2 off isn't that scary.
They have tightened up at the back though, an early goal would be ideal for us.
There you go guys grasping at every little straw. Only one injury maybe in CM after the lad got a kick but apart from that we're ok.
How's your injury list looking.

I'd have him here permanently if he was on a free or minimal fee. I Think he's improved a lot, is versatile and could potentially make us a few quid in the future!
I'll have to have a word in his ear - he's marrying into my family
-
I've got a feeling the fans have to be the 13th adn 14th man too, for us to have any chance of of Wembley.
That could turn out to be a huge millstone if things don't go your way - fans soon start to turn and can just as quickly have a negative effect.
-
Probably comes from years of following latics and many false dawns!
I have a good feeling in my water though
Really

I just hope the conditions have settled down by then and the game isn't ruined as a spectacle.
A tense affair that is settled by the best team going through ( or a jammy 2 goal victory for us,i'd take that )
I sense a degree of anxiety building

Told my lad this week that being a Tic more often than not feels like a penance not a joy! Emotional night on 30th. Can't wait!
Our WIN at Colchester has generated a lot more interest in more fans wanting to visit BP on the 30th - should be a tense old affair - I too can't wait.
-
Ha ha, literally laughed out loud at that post. So you really really really hate horrible nasty Chesterfield? They're hardly Millwall or Leeds FFS! You must despise the truly mighty Burton Albion and Dagenham & Redbridge then
What no reply.............
-
We're 17th though, yes we are better than them based on league form, but all conquering? Never....
Footballs been a bit more exciting this season, but we're still very inconsistent and this is not the league. There are cup upset every year, but to be frank, do you think many people will actually consider it to be an upset, if we lose to them?
For what it's worth guys I think you look quite a good team going forward and against other teams we've played you look to be up with the best.

I really am happy with our lot atm pal - all that typing for nowt.

You need someone who has experience in this league and who has been scouting potential players. Ex league players don't necessarily mean success.
We are lucky that we have millionaire brothers in charge who are fans of the club, before that it was disasterous fall from grace having owner who wasn't interested, absent and had an egotistical puppet running the gig.
