  1. So you're saying Evans is a victim in this? Classy.

So if I post my opinion that we shouldn't sign him on here OK, but if I post that opinion on other forums I become part of a mob?

He has become a victim of mob behaviour yes, because they are doing everything they can to stop him going back to football on every occasion he gets looked at. I would add that other players coming out of jail don't seem to have had such a following as this guy...

If OAFC pull out and another clubs looks to sign him, and you go around attacking that club then you become part of the mob. If you as a fan of OAFC post your opinion on OAFC and Ched Evans than I once again repeat you are not part of the mob chasing this guy around, you are a fan with a legitimate interest and concern

  2. You're also part of a mob too. Or are you on your own with your opinion?

Opinion is not mob behaviour. Opinion of a large group repeated over and over again on multiple forums and online social media as has happened with Ched Evans the last few months is online mob behaviour. I do not count discussion on OWTB as mob behaviour whatsoever, but I have already said that

  3. Read the article and what people are saying about that woman. That IS an online mob, I agree

Saying "I don't want this man to play for my football club because he's a convicted rapist" is not the same as saying, and I'm quoting the article here, "....retreated from the pitchfork-wielding mass keen to rape u n leave aids drippin down ya face, as one person wrote on Twitter." If you can't see the difference then, well, words fail me.

If you fail to see the difference

What you fail to see is the online mob jumping all over the web and news sites every time his name is mentioned with a football club then. Not saying you are part of it, but I bet the same lot are behind a chunk of it every time he gets mentioned

  4. Mob - a large crowd of people, especially one that is disorderly and intent on causing trouble or violence.

A lot of people not wanting a convicted rapist to play for their football club is not a mob. They're not intent on causing trouble or violence, quite the opposite. They want non of the trouble Ched Evans brings.

It's pissing me off reading this "mob" bollocks

So if you can drag your knuckles from the floor to type on your keyboard and voice your "lad culture" opinions on here, you can lift them to grab a dictionary and check what you're writing is accurate

Online mob then. Still a mob though.

  5. The mob really have done a great job getting this story around the world. Like the politicians take on all this as they ignore what has gone on in their own back yard with the peadophiles, so they can have their 5 mins of fame, because that is what they are about.

The whole affair is sordid, but the conviction does not look sound to me and why would you apologise if you are appealing the decision, and strongly believe it was not rape?

Sign him, take the 15 minutes of mob disgust, and move on, if the board believes that the conviction is not sound.

  6. 2 shocking decisions, but nobody has yet mentioned the third. Blatent handball in front of the Chaddy should have been a clear penalty again for us. Disgusted with the ref today, and his reaction to the handball to the players was basically a two finger salute, the way he reacted to the claims :censored:

  7. Yes I agree. Justice has not been done but equally the extreme right have used the situation to stir up hatred. Not all whites are racist and not all Asians are. By the same token both communities have their share of racists and absolute head cases and the police and the laws of this country are failing to effectively deal with those head cases. On a wider case no matter what people say the communities are separate because they choose to be, and I don't see that changing due to the many cultural differences between the two.

  8. GuyGermanLatic. You seem to be under the impression only white people in the town are racist. Try telling that to the friends and family of the white kid beaten to death for being white, with the police doing rock all about it because it would be racist to go to the pakistani community to find the culprits. There are racists on both sides and in equal measures. My firends daughters is mixed race and was forced to move house due to non stop verbal assaults and physical threats from the local pakistanis. The police did nothing, and in they end they were forced out.

What happened to you is a disgrace but do not tar us all with the same brush and do not pretend only the whites in this town are vile racist thugs.

By the way Oldham is a complete :censored:hole and their is no hiding from it. Oldham has gone downhill for 20 years.

  9. Edit - in response to LaticsSideOfLife

You don't become good at anything without practice, you don't become very good without very high quality practice. Talent is a myth. Many footballers' sons become good players because, if they are interested, they are exposed to the opportunity to get that type of practice. It makes me laugh when Andy Murray is described as a talented tennis player, bollocks. There are thousands of lads who given the same upbringing would be just as successful, statistically probably more successful.

Very few of the asian lads will have the encouragement to go down the professional footballing route, they won't get the high quality practice required.

Just read the thread and had to reply to this off topic post. Talent is not a myth. I coach a mixed race team and every single player has a different level of skill and talent. To say talent is a myth shows a distinct lack of understanding of the fact that we are all different and as such we all excel at different things and are utter :censored:e at others.

  10. Abdul Hamid, a member of Red Star Bengal, believes Oldham are doing a lot of good work with the community, but he has thrown out a challenge to the bosses who run the game.

"One day, when we have an Asian player at Latics, a lot of Asian people will flock to the club to support him."

So they won't support the white and black players we have then? Typical BBC accuse everyone of racism but then find it acceptable when the racism is the other way

1,959 Football League fans were polled to find out which club had the poshest supporters.

Championship Winner: Brighton and Hove Albion (12.8%) Relegated: Barnsley (0.1%)

League One Winner: MK Dons (7.9%) Relegated: Oldham Athletic (0%)

League Two Winner: Oxford United (6.5%) Relegated: Bradford City (0%)

    Bottom of the pile :shakeit:

  12. As for the poppy burning at what-have-you, I can't think of anything less aggressive than setting light to a paper flower. That's some top open-air trolling right there folks, nothing more than that - and we're now discussing that it should be a crime?

Rummy perhaps I should go out a burn a few Korans. After all it is only a bit of paper with ink on it. Of course all hell would let loose and people like you will be calling for me to be arrested for race hate crimes using the current laws as you watch all the nutters going mad on TV threatening to murder me for my disrespect of islam.

Of course I would never ever burn the Koran due to its highly significant and symbolic nature. Nor would I expect to see people burning poppies in front of our soldiers and that is were I differ from the left wing fools. They make excuses such as you did for those who would spout such hate and insults, whereas myself and people like me expect them to be arrested and punished in the same way that I would if I set fire to a few Korans outside a mosque.

Your comment also shows your total and utter disregard for all those who died in 2 world wars for our freedom. A freedom those burning the poppies would love to take off us. A freedom many muslims have come here to have as they escape oppression under fanatical islam in their home countries
