Holloway did well to stretch at the end. Still think Davies is getting little credit for the work he does. He kept the ball up almost on his own second half and people were grumbling he wasn't there to head his own crosses in.

After laying the ball off, davies needs to get in the box. No wonder he hasn't scored for a while, he doesn't show desire to get in the box.

Well that undermined your argument well!

Well it doesn't though, does it? It proves that AG is more than filling the void left by clarkes form last season. Whilst getting us more solid at the back. It's alright for Clarke to score 1 of the 4 at mk. But, we shouldn't have thrown away a 2 goal lead. The main argument from some was that we'd miss Clarke's 'goals'.

    Its 3-3 actually :chubb:

Completely forgot he'd scored any cause he'd been so shit for us this season. Anyhow, point still stands he's proven to be the better player this season. I thank him for his efforts last season but, Gerrard is better.

Just seen the goal from last night. My god I didn’t realise how fat gerrard is. No one can tell me he is fit! Bloody disgrace to professional football getting that overweight

Hope that's a joke. Do love how all the Gerrard haters have gone quiet. Saved us tbh, if we would've continued with Clarke like some wanted, we'd be in a much worse position, for sure. Gerrard 3, Clarke 0 goals for the season. But, "Clarke's goals could be important". ?

Agree with this Bryan was my man of the match also.

Nearly got caught out at the end because he was watching the ball though. Luckily the lino got it well wrong and gave offside. Apart from that, he was very good. Definitely becoming a better partnership as the season goes on (him and AG).

Davies was off side on a number of occasions to start with second half but he adjusted and there was a run of three when he was clearly onside - two of those he would have been clear on goal and could have shown Holloway what to do.  If you noticed he spoke to the referee about it after the first and third time.

Show Holloway what to do? PMSL, what run towards the wing, check back, pass and don't make an attempt to get into the box. He's a lazy bone idle twat, I know he's scored a few but, his last ones came again Newcastle kids so... Get in the fucking box, it's not fucking rocket science.

  7. Lucky we were against such a poor team tonight. Gardner was easily MOTM. Special mentions for dummy, fane and Gerrard though. Rest were mediocre. Think the 10 day rest has come at a good time for players and the pitch. Gutted the pitch fucked holloways chance up, deserved a goal for another very good cameo appearance. Btw, duck throwing a tantrum was embarrassing. Nothing came off for him tonight, wellens was doing him a favour.

  8. No chance kane and Alli could get injured, since they dive before getting tackled anyways. Hope Tunisia kick our arse but, can't see it unfortunately. FA bending over backwards for the big teams, as per.  Supporting England is more depressing than supporting Oldham so, I just cba with it nowadays. Rather support other home nations (bar the Scots, cause they're twats). They have more pride in playing for their countries these days.

Here is a thought give the lad a chance rather than being utter numpties and writing him off before seen him even play. I haven't a clue if he is any good but don't try and convince me he should get abuse for signing and wanting to do well. Latics fans are fickle buggers. As for Wellens not wanting free agents why say it if just a way to make him look daft.

    Well said this man ?

Not sure how you got that I said he’s playing shit from my post. I think he contributes well, but he is a striker and should be scoring more than he does. He has had runs in the side before, and hasn’t scored. It is true that his best appearances have come from the bench.

If a striker does other things like say help us score 2 a game. I couldn't give a shit if he doesn't score all season. Don't know why it's so hard to comprehend that Holloway offers much more than Davies does. I'd give Holloway and nazon a run for a few games and see how they get on.

So how do these two comments match up in your opinion?

You see his performance today? The only one running/harrassing in the middle of the park at the end. We would've thrown away a 2 goal lead if it wasn't for him. Didn't allow them to gain momentum, albeit his clearances didn't get far but, it stopped them from getting into dangerous areas. Btw we lost at Shrewsbury so, it's pretty irrelevant.

    No, no, no and no.

He's been one of our better players this season, 13 goals and 3 assists is a decent return already. Plus he actually does a lot of good work off the ball as well as holding it up well.

Much better when someone plays alongside him though.

Slows the play down and looks to go backwards so, he can get in the box way too often. Just attack, looks much better in a front 2 with someone a little different to him (has to be said) but, still not convinced he does enough. Glad Holloway got a goal, since that's all a striker is judged on by some.

We played at Shrewsbury without him and the midfield performed well. So the quote above is not true.

Our midfield isn't a midfield without fane. We all know he's not technical and if we could get a better holding midfielder who can spray balls about, that would be ideal. But, without him at this moment in time, we're knackered defensively. Even when he's out of the team, we're not that much better going forwards cause, they don't make runs and/or see a pass and play it quickly enough.

Couldn’t disagree more, Davies upfront on his own isn’t good, but playing 1 up front at home is so negative, especially when the midfield don’t support, as soon as we go 2 up top, Davies was excellent, very easily the best striker on our books.

It is negative but, I think it brought about our biggest win of the season.... it was Doyle upfront though. Davies is good when he is close to the CB and turning him. Did it well a few times yesterday, one time leading upto our lucky goal. Everything else he does is frustrating. New lad was a breath of fresh air, turning and running at people and trying to get a shot off.

Ben Pringle man of the match, are you having a fucking laugh? Got to be a piss take that!!!!

And whilst bringing Nazons on was correct, taking Fane off was a baffling decision by Wellens.

Oh and Dummigan had a TERRIBLE first half.

Pringle was awful. Fane shouldn't have gone off. Agreed with that but, I feel for dummy. He has to do the job of 2 whenever Byrne plays 'on the right'. At one point we had Pringle, Byrne and Macca all within 5 yards of each other on the left hand side. Lob sided midfield isn't helping anyone out.

    Wellens was the cheap option...

And yet again its biting the club on its arse.

This argument doesn't work though. He was the option who won his first 5 games on the bounce, and we were playing exceptionally well. If he hadn't been appointed and someone else comes in and it goes downhill. You would've said "we should've got wellens in instead".
