  1. Stockport looked quality and as good as most that I have seen in our division this season.

Looked a game too far for Dale. Had Perkins been on the pitch I reckon it could have been a bit more interesting.

Agree with Derek - best game of the weekend.

Just a hunch but I don't reckon Dickenson will be at Edgeley next season. I reckon he could be heading to the Championship. Quality player.

Hard luck Dale but I reckon they will do it the less glamourous way next season and get in the top 3.

  2. Hate us with passion (the relationship is very similar to City and us) but we'll always look at them as our favourite nephew whist we are Uncle Knob Head to them. Come on Dale the BIFFOS are rooting for you

  3. A great send off, which I think he found a little overwhelming in the end.

Good luck Gary, you deserve it. :)

Seems fans on here have no axe to grind at all which is great. It also smacks of 'we won't really miss your footballing ability that much Gary'. If it was Wellens who'd signed a pre-contract agreement with Donny and he turned out for last game with fans knowing this he'd have been torn limb from limb. Difference being Wellard was a big player for us but Macca wasn't.

  4. Good point - I think that deserves its own thread after the amount attacking Shez for not blowing his 'war chest' in January. Yes money could be found, but only for the correct young player who would be as much an investment....

Sorry to pee on everyones parade but:-

    1) This could end up being a Blackpool in every sense. How long before we are chanting 'build the broadway stand'?

    2) Sounds to me like the first part of a departure speech

    I hope I'm wrong.

  5. I thought he had a great game and would love to see him here. A damn sight better than Liddell anyway.

Looked decent yesterday in the sun, nice atmosphere, against a team with nowt to play for. In fairness Greegs and Hazell weren't breaking their necks or else I reckon he would have been 6 foot in the air within the first ten minutes of the game. Good player but would he bag you a couple of goals up at Hartlepool in December on a bone hard pitch? Give me Beckett over him any day of the week.

ps and he looked like a girl

  6. You can't stop players from wanting to play at a higher level, it's just wrong. They wouldn't exactly be happy to stay against their will. We're not running Dynamo Moscow in 1980. We should be ambitious, but you have to be fair and realsitic towards your players.

Isn't it the same in every business? You pay your better employees the going rate and what competitors would offer and hey presto, they stay put. No player is going to move for less or the same money unless they are seriously hacked off. You then lose your has beens once their contracts expire and bring in one quality player at the expense of losing one and a half or two bad ones.

The only way we'll get out of this league is by having 20 quality players. Not 5 quality players and 25 average ones. But you have to speculate to accumulate. OK if it doesn't pay off you should have some very sellable assets and should at least get the same return on your investment. Thats worst case scenario. Flip side is we get promoted and their value increases.

  7. This you BB80?

    5) A Guy Branston. You scream all game, you do cack all else and you generally wind everybody up and love confrontation. You always know best. You've been going since Adam was a lad and your opinion is worth more than anybody elses.

I'll take away the confrontation bit as you'd probably poo in your pants if anybody confronted you face to face. Might just leave it in as you are a bit of a keyboard warrior. Big girls blouse.

  8. 'I was jealous of the Milwall fans today, those were some of the best fans we have had at BP for a while, they sang and all stood together the "No one likes us..." and the "ooooohh" that went on for ages and the ":censored: ground no fans" or "You're supposed to be at home/give a :censored:" were top draw as they were so right. This coming from a club that has yo-yoed between this league and the championship plus got to a cup final, a bit similar to ourselves. They don't give a :censored: what league they are in or whether they are playing fancy football or if the manager tucks the players in at night with a cup of cocoa they just wanted the team to win they pootle off back down the road with the points'

The best paragraph I have read on a footy site. Millwall fans were superb - outnumbered 20-1 and showed just how passionate they are. They get a rough press but is there a more passionate set of fans in the entire football league? I don't think so. Our supporters are just embarrassing.

  9. im sick of the moaners too. Dont know if any of you regulars on here sit in the upper main stand but theres a bunch of blokes at the top towards the RRE who go every home game and all they do is shout obscenities and just continually have a go at the players. Ive been going BP for well over 10 years and they have done nothing but criticise every home game ive been to ('smalley your sh*t get off the pitch', 'your the worst manager ever sheridan f off' 'we get this sh*t every week sheridan you're a tosser'

OK yes saturdays game was pretty poor ill admit and based on the 1st half theres no doubting that we were shocking and warranted booing - injuries aside there was no excuse for 11 'professionals' not to be able to chase, tackle people and pass a ball.

However, there is no team in the country who could cope with the amount of key players we have missing and expect to play brilliant football - im sure liverpool would be buggered without Gerrard and Torres never mind 12 players, so despite sheridans bad points i think we've done well to be where we are with our current team.

Second half wasnt great but at least we appered to put some effort in and that is all we ask for. But the blokes at the top pushed it too far for me when one shouted 'This is the worst football ive seen in 30yrs'!!

Yes it was bad but but are you telling me it was as bad as warnock/sharp/moore? i dont think so. That really peed me off so i told the guy to shut up, a few f off's and prick's were exchanged and then the guy told me to tell him to f off outside, as always people have to resort to violence. I said no thanks and asked him to support/encourage the team as he does nothing but moan and he told me that he has supported latics for over 40yrs home and away - well i go home and away as often as i can and i go to encourage the team, granted with the odd moan but we all do that. If continually barracking players and managers for 40yrs is classed as support then its no wonder we are still where we are - some fans are a joke, a disgrace and an embarrassment to the club.

That my friend is a top post.

Maybe the hard lad should have taken a trip around the Rocky road end at 4.55pm if he fancied a fight. I dare say there would have been fifty or so lads willing to give him a shoeing.

  10. After consulting my girls aloud 2007 and 2008 calendar I can confirm there is absolutley nothing wrong with the ginger one, in fact my preference would be>

    1) Cherryl (what was Cashley thinking)

    2) Nadine

    3) Nicola (The ginger one)

    4) Kymberley

    5) Sarah (Dont like short hair on women)

However I definatley wouldn't say no to any of them.

Is it Chris Taylor's sister? :ohno:

I can live with her being grumpy and ugly but ginger is just wrong.

  11. I have never ever, been to a stadium where there is so much negativity directed to the team, that the people pay good money to watch and suppousdley support, the fact is this season we have been extremley unlucky with injurys we have lost Gregan, Hughes, Thompson, Davies, Crossley, Liddle, Kalala, we then sign a Robertson from Sheff Utd who suffers a serious injury in his 3rd game.

I am frustrated with Shezz over certain things e.g Taylor on the right, Smalley should be on the wing, 6 month loan signings in Kilkenny and Bertrand the Ricketts affair.

However this season Shezz has also achieved success in bringing in Davies, Allott, Hughes (when fit) and Hazell along side the up and coming Smalley, Lomax, Alessandra and not to mention Shezz being instrumental in the development of our bigest export for years in Trotman. The team is in a better position to move forward than it has been for a good few years.

The point I am trying to make is yes Shezz has made mistakes but he is a young manager, how many years was big Joe hear before we achieved any success the "fans" need to back the TTA and Shezz and lets not forget we had the fans choice in the proven manager then we moved to the playing legend, so where if we did "get rid" of Shezz would we turn next any sugestions?

    No thought not!

My only disapointment yesterday is that Shezz didn't have a walk round and flick the Vs at the Lookers morons.

Mate, theres some in the Lookers and on here who wouldn't be happy if we were 10 points clear at the top of the premier league playing brazilian like football and were knocking off Girls aloud (minus the ginger of course).

  12. Half time...........

Quote 'Worst I have seen in 30 thirty days'

Never! Remember those performances under Warnock, Sharp, Moore, Talbot hell even big Joe at times

Brilliant. People entitled to moan granted. They pay their money. BUT If following Latics made me that unhappy I wouldn't go.

I can put up with sheite football. I can. I support Latics and I enjoy the poor performances just like I enjoy the good ones. All part n parcel of watching a third division team. The more bad performances the better the good ones feel. Inept performances have been there for the past 13 years. Hey ho.

There were some on here who had us beaten before we kicked a ball. You could sense that SOME fans couldn't wait for the players to fail.

Honestly I am heartily sick and tired of listening to the moaning gets week in week out. Please, a plea....if you want to moan all game and spoil my half time pint please phuck off somewhere else in the ground preferably the Chaddy where you will find a fair amount of like minded people. I know you care but for gods sake, talk about tedious. You could talk glass eyes to sleep. Get a flamin life.

  13. Compare the team that will play today to the team that won those two games.

    Here's a clue

    Crossley

    Betrand

    Trotman

    Kilkenny

    Allott

    Hughes

    Davies

    The backbone of the team.

Never done well at home vs Millwall, nailed on 1-0 defeat today as Shez is guaranteed to play Livermore on the left and the toothless Deano upfront, our strikers in all forms have scored 8 goals in 20 games.

Davies has 4 of those, Hughes, Wolfy, Robertson and Lewi the others.

My team in an attempt to at least attack.

    O'Donnell

    Eards

    Thompson

    Stam

    Lomax

    Deano

    Macca

    Livermore

    Taylor

    Leon

    Wolfy

Get balls in the box, if Livermore plays wide left we'll lose, simple as, as we'll revert to the toothless performances we've seen all too often at BP this season.

Deano is a winger not a striker, yes Wolfy has his critics but put the ball into the box and he will take his chances. I don't go for this he's been here 4 years blah, blah, blah. In that time he's started a handful of games give him a run and lets see if he is good enough. Nothing to lose now so lets end the season with a bang. Yes we're only 3 pints adrift but as we're struggling to raise a team lets be realistic.

Aren't Millwall struggling to raise a team? :titanic:

Read their official website if you need a clue

Nailed on 1-0 defeat. God I bet you are a joy to sit next to!

  14. We won't go up. If we get 6 points from the next two matches then it might...just might..spark a little run which will keep us in with a sniff, but we all know this isn't going to happen.

Yep. Millwall at home is a game we can't win. We beat them away, they are near the bottom of the league and recent form has been poor.

Donny away. May as well not turn up. Done well against them this season, won at the Keepmoat in the FA cup, they are on a dodgy bit of form at the moment.

Hey, lets call it quits now eh? I am not saying we are going to take 6 pts but it is possible if not probable. Life must be dull on planet no hope.

  15. agree one game at a time and all that remember keep the faith

One game at a time indeed. BUT IF we knocked over our next 3 at home (and on paper it looks pretty achievable) - 56 points with 9 games remaining would give us a helluva chance of hitting maybe 70-72 pts (with a good goal difference) looking at our run in.

Feet on the floor. We aren't great, but neither are 22 other teams in this poo hole of a league.

  16. 9 points behind Tranmere, 2 games in hand and we've still got to play them here at BP. This game was always going to be a toughy

4 home games out of our next 5, if we have Hughesy back for next week it'll be a major boost.

    H Swindon Town

    A Port Vale

    H Hartlepool

    H Tranmere

    H Bournemouth

Each home one we should be looking to win. Port Vale is a tricky one, we never win there BUT they are slump bottom are just aren't playing well.

    KTF!

I think you are bang on with that post. 4 out of next 5 at home against very average or poor sides (Tranmere ain't great are they!) and the away game is at bottom of the league (ok I know they are our bogey side but they are the worst side in the league FACT).

Win Tuesday and it's still very much a possibility. I wouldn't be saying that if this league wasn't absolute tosh but it is so anything can still happen. I don't think we are great, not by any stretch but in my eyes we can still compete against the likes of Walsall and Tranmere. Long long long way to go.

    Glass half full KOTK.
