  1. I always like to see OAFC & their players get a mention on these types of TV shows, especially if it's a positive, this one was. Danny's back-heeled goal against Coventry this week made it onto the 'Showboat' section that shows all the weeks tricksters like Suarez & Messi delighting us all with their moments of magic on the pitch. Well done Danny, come to think of it, the training ground build up to the goal was a joy to watch. Get IN!!! :-)
  2. Wonder if Adam Lockwood will be entering any Judo competitions soon? He looked at least a 7th dan expert with that manoeuvre.
  3. Don't get excited though. There was a piece on 'match analysis experts' employed by clubs, who analyse all aspects of their player's games. Every goal, pass, shot, tackle, etc is filmed (even in training) then scrutinized afterwards to see how the players could improve their game. They even scrutinize their upcoming opponents (surprise surprise) for things like past formations, injuries, tactics, etc. Anyway, AFC Bournemouth were the subject of this article & when their goalkeeping coach was interviewed, his particular recollection was their game at Boundary Park in March 2013, when Jose Baxter's 'Dinked' penalty was saved by Ryan Allsop & they carried on to win 0-1. They had definitely done their homework on Jose & it eared them 3 points. Knowing how thorough LJ is, I was wondering what lengths our club goes to in this field. It obviously works & 3 points can make a massive difference in a season. Bournemouth employ 3 of these experts.
  4. After tonight's results, I wondered if it was possible for us to achieve a top half finish this season, I.e 12 place. If we were to beat Notts county on Saturday & the 3 teams currently above us, Bristol City (12th, 57 pts), Bradford (13th, 56 pts) & Crawley (14th, 56 pts), were all to lose, then we might have a chance. Unfortunately that cannot happen now as Bristol City & Crawley play each other this weekend meaning that one, or both, teams will definitely pick up points taking them out of our reach. Anyway, it looks like 15th place is the lowest position that we can finish now, so that's an improvement on last season. Onwards & upwards.
  5. I've been told that it's the buying club who has the final say on whether the transfer fees are undisclosed, or not. Although, as mentioned in the 'Bleacher report' link in one of the above posts, it can be beneficial to both clubs to keep it hush hush.
  6. I've got a mate who is linked with county & when I texted him to ask if the lad's any good, he replied. "Yes. F###ers. I'm going to text our CEO to make sure you've f###ing paid for him too. At least 100k I reckon." That said, he is a couple of divisions below us.
  7. We'll just have to settle for the 17 year old Harrison Ford movie 'Air Force one'. Cheers BBC
  8. Didn't go it to the game today, so I've just had a look on the TV listings so that I can record 'The Football League Show' on BBC 1 tonight & it's not on. Typical, a winning 9 goal thriller at BP & it looks like we won't see the highlights.
