  1. I have to admit, I hadn't been for 9 years or so (due to various health issues) before the Oxford game - filled with optimism - know how that turned out.

And then we had yesterday - I've seen 10 year old players do much better. Don't mind losing if there's effort - from the majority anyway, there wasn't - save McLaughlin, Gardener and maybe the Belgian lad. And then we come to value for money.

Between 3 of us (2 adults and a 12 year old - who incidentally, appraised us succinctly - you can guess) we spent nearly £80 on the day.

Most entertaining thing? The corner where nobody realised Banks had been subbed - says it all for me!

Oh how I've missed 'real football' and these fancy formations ?

  2. I think those of us who have been through the high & the low (my first game was in 1980/81), been sponsors (as I and my various businesses have at one time), bought ST and just turned up on the day, share your sentiments and frustrations - and you've summed it all up very eloquently.

The answer is of course, investment, both in terms of finances, coaching and playing staff. The question is, where will it come from? I know Simon quite well and have had a few conversations with him (usually in San Carlos Manchester), and I still believe that he has the good of the club at heart, but I think his hands are tied behind his back from afar.

As for Barry, the less said the better..

    Best wishes for the future!

  3. Absolutely dreading next Friday now when ours in in there.

The bosses sister in law was there last night...or shall I say wasn't as they were alledgedly turn away at the door, ended up in Indish instead.

Could this get any worse for our event centre.

I'd be prepared to be disappointed. Been working quite closely with somebody who has the job to make the the place look, shall we say, festive. Worked their balls off on Friday/Saturday(even paying for extra staff) to get it ready, only for it to be cancelled and people turned away at the door.

  4. 'Much will have more', as my old Nan used to say.. Or was it 'too big for your boots?'

I can't physically go to games at the mo, my condition precludes me, but as a regular sponsor (in a past business life), the number of PR own goals coming out of the club and its 'officials' lately, would mean that, were I in a position to be a sponsor (of any degree), I think I'd do it but go sit in the stands rather than the sponsors lounge, for fear of unleashing my opinions to certain people.

We really need some independence on the board - and soon!

  5. If I were his boss, I'm not sure I'd be happy about the comments on the OS this morning..

Tarkowski added is not letting interest from other clubs distract him as he focuses on playing.

"I let my agent do his job and I am just concentrating on playing well because if you are not doing that you won’t get a move," he said.

    Is he actively looking?

I'd be gutted if I were LJ - but on the other hand, we're a selling club.

Just thought it was a bit crass - by all means, let your agent do his bit, just don't rub the club's nose in it.
