  1. I'm a bit baffled around what people genuinely expect.

Whoever gets the job won't be on big bucks. Won't have numerous managerial promotions on their CV. Won't make you think "wow".

But he will be the Latics manager and, as we did with Dickov and Johnson, should be given a fair chance to prove himself by fans.

    Season ticket? I'm in.

i agree with this completely. As soon as the bookies published their odds everyone knew there was no way we were getting anyone on the list, but as time has gone on people seem to have convinced themselves that we were going for a name. This was never going to happen and now people are considering not getting a season ticket because we will have a no name manager, exactly what we had last time and the time before

  2. Lockwood was never the greatest footballer but he was a leader and would throw himself into everything to ensure he won the header. Today and over the last few games we have conceeded goals where his man has scored goals in the six yard box, he is loosing headers and was a mess as leader today getting in a mess with brown twice and wilson and berating coleman when he really didnt need to

  3. man management - the players all seemed to run to him on Saturday.

coaching and tactics - he has done his badges

player identification and recruitment - he has recruited 3 players, two of which have been part of a defence keeping two clean sheets in a row and the other got mom last night, not a bad record.

keith hill was the youth coach at dale when they gave him a shot and that didnt turn out too bad for them

  4. I dont think it was the original formation, which we have done well with, or variation of all season. It was towards the end with no way of changing things. a like for like swap for philly was stupid as it wouldnt change things we needed fresh imputus so a change in formation. And to put murphy there was just bollox he has never seen a player in the hole. Then he just looked stumped. As palmer said a beaten man

  5. To be fair on that

The time will soon be upon us when the vast majority are told they are being released. I am assuming that Jacobs and Touhy will be offered contracts as they have been involved with the first team recently anybody think any of the other young lads deserve a contract think 3 will be the max we take on

john prichard didnt get a contract last season and he played as much as these two

  6. There is the problem though 1 guy who cant score in two conference loans and a guy who cant catch a halifax. They are better than our youths so what is the point in throwing the youths in? People can say experience but bove is the example there that throw him in too early and he his overwhelmed and it knocks him back.

  7. I appreciate i might be missing something here but, while here as assistant manager he was demoted. He had a crap record with our reserves. While i understand he was a bit hashly treated with hartlepool he had a crap record lost to blyth and signed sidney schmelt. Hardly the great hope some people are making him out to be. In fact on those facts you wouldnt touch him with a barge pole

  8.

The players TP develops need something to bridge the gap between youth and 1st team. That has disappeared this season. Of the 3 taken on for this season.

Bove - 2 loans. Brief JPT appearance.

    Truelove - 2 loans.

Coleman - playing the odd youth team game and warming the bench.

As there is no reserves the loan system is now the bridging of the gap but bove has largely failed, correct me if im wrong but 1 goal?

  9. Eardley,Taylor and Tarky?

eardly was essentially the boo boy that year because some people thought lomax was better! he wanted to leave so the fact we got anything was amazing

Taylor let his contract run down

and tarky we dont know how much we will eventually get because there were add ons in his contract which we are not party to

  10. Yes poleon pushed him and carroll made a meal of it stumbling back 5 yards to make sure the officials had seen it. He was supprised that they hadn't and completly lost his head still complaining about it to the linesman right up to half time. He was miles out of position for our second. He then went in at half time got his head together and had a blinder second half

  11. Bulldozing the Lookers without a plan lost more attendee's than Ronnie Moore did. Or the signing of Lee Hughes put together.

The thing is did they predict the outcome of bulldozing the lookers maybe, maybe not but with Moore they looked at the ticket sales and said people don't like you your gone. We know they are monitoring this website and Facebook but are still pushing ahead with this
