  1. I will still go - I HAVE to - there's nowhere else I can shout me head off for 90mins dressed as a giraffe without getting arrested but this appointment is a let-down!

We gambled on LJ and it paid off (til he buggered off) but really chancing it expecting 2 untried coaches to do well -it's a hell of a gamble- and this political bollox doesn't help one little bit - it's unnecessary baggage - feeling let down - but will be there next season hopefully shouting again and not sat there with me head in me hands (I don't do booing!)

  2. How about playing winny and dayts as wing backs, back 3, 2 narrow centre-mids and 2 properly up front - no no.10 - I reckon with proper support and lots of crosses Ibs could bag for us. I am not normally one for messing about with formations but drastic measures could be needed after last 2 games. Probably get slaughtered for this suggestion heh heh. Just hope that there's a good turnout, we all turn up half-cut, have a xmas knees up, get behind the lads - they need us more than ever right now - and try to generate some positivity @ BP - if and it's a big IF we can beat Crewe and bounce back, who knows we could be back in the play-off positions.

  3. I love it in the RRE BECAUSE we're next to the away fans. Hate getting moved when the bigger teams come. Think we should keep it as it is with the smaller away followings but then move the away fans of the bigger supports to the Chaddy End and let us have the RRE. Even though I hate moving really hope we can create a great atmos in the Chaddy today - there's a feel-good factor back - let's get it rocking again - as LJ keeps stating it helps the team hearing us big gobs in action heh heh

  4. brilliant post this - i will be voting ohhhhh yesh!! no matter wot - i am ltid - think lj is the most proactive manager we've had since jr - glad he signed that contract - and let's just see eh? regardless i go to bp - get excited when i see the floodlights on the way there, get in there, have a swifty and shout me fakkin head of for 90 mins 0 i can't do it anywhere else without gettin arrested - i love this club and always will do - will back everyone that wears the blue of owdum - just one negative at BP - the fkin bastard stewards who are spoiling me fun!

  5. So, let me get this right.

    1. Some folk are annoyed at the selling of Tarky for £150K even though that's a figure shown in London press and there is no proof that it is accurate
    2. Some folk are annoyed that the fee is "undisclosed", even though this is normal for the majority of transfers these days unless it's for megamillions
    3. Some folk are annoyed that he's gone to a League 1 club, even though he is most likely going to be playing in the Championship next season
    4. Some folk are annoyed that he'll be back on loan on Feb 8th
    5. Some folk are annoyed that we are not building for the future as promised
    6. One "supporter" has decided not to go any more because of the transfer fee

    In response to this annoyance

    1. We don't honestly know what the fee is even though Matt Chambers seems pretty confident that is way more than the £150K quoted in the London press. But that can be conveniently ignored by some when it suits
    2. As fans, we have no right to know the transfer fee any more than we have a right to know what someone, other than ourselves, is earning at their chosen job. Is there a business other than football where folk demand to know the financial goings on? I'm sure someone will tell me
    3. Why shouldn't he go to a League 1 club if that what he wants? If he didn't want to join them, he wouldn't have done and I doubt there is anything in his contract which says he can't. Very little will prevent him being in a higher division next season
    4. There is nothing unusual in this; it happens on a regular basis, particularly in the Greedy League. Why should we be any different? We did it with Wayne Harrison years ago. With Wilson coming in, we have more cover at CB with Tarky back; best of both worlds
    5. How do we know we're not building for the future? We may have just unearthed a couple of gems. Swindon fans couldn't ubderstand why they had plucked Charlie Austin from non league. Didn't work out too shabby, did it? Plus, we don't know yet who else may arive in the summer or how many contraxcts will be renewed
    6. How can you corrolate a transfer with deciding not to go any more? If you're that fickle, fine. Go and watch someone else. You'll not be missed

Let's just see how things go before we make any knee jerk reactions. Unless any of us can see into the future, we have no idea what lays in front of us. You never know, we may be quietly surprised.

I'm sure there are many more issues tied up in all this, but I need to get some work done.

bristollatic - i think i love you heh heh - i personally am optimistic tbh - whatever 11 is on the pitch and no matter how long they are with us - as long as they're wearing blue n white - will be 110% behind them (if the stewards dont cob me out!)

  6. am quite pleased with the activity really. disappointed with how much we get for tarky even tho i dont know how much it is - but think stead has got to be better than what we have currently. we're playin good stuff makin chances just not got a fox in the box - lets hope stead is just that - and he's a biggun! as for the non-league lads - lj has been watchin these for a while so he must have sin somet. agree with previous comment about wezza - he is our heartbeat and i'd be gutted if he went. lockwood looked good when he come on so and we got another ch in so fingers crossed we gonna be ok

  7. Love the Roses clashes tbh - love the banter (which for some reason seems to have subsided a bit of late) - so come on - let's give it to the sheep botherers big time, Gutted not gonna be in the RRE end though but hey-ho! Really thought it was gonna be back to the drawing board after our good run - but this LJ chap has the nouse to change things around - more than the managers we have had of late! Hope he signs contract extension - seems to be creating somet good - even when we've been losing we've been playing some goood stuff. Not getting too carried away but WE'RE GOIN UP AS FKIN CHAMPIONS heh heh.

  8. My main concern is that we have so many moaners than cheerers at BP and if we have a group of youngsters playing nice passing football, as soon as one goes wayward the moaners will moan. Then moan again and again - then get on their backs - and the youngsters confidence will be shot. LJ has brought a refreshing new philosophy to Owdum and it may take the fans a while to get used to us playing free flowing short passing footy - and in my experience our lot don't particular do patience very well. I am optimistic that we will comfortably stay up - anything more would be a welcome bonus. Just hope the moaners DO give the lads a chance.

  9. An easy win but after the 2nd goal we reverted to type, conceded territory and went back into our shell, that was disappointing -Orient were there for the taking but our performance for the last 35-40 minutes was more of a team clinging on rather than a team that had won the game easily.

Nardiello's injury didn't help, but holding the ball in the corner AGAIN is pretty unbelievable, I and many others were bored :censored:less for the last half an hour, we've won 2-0 but I still feel a bit cheated. If i'm honest Penney's negativity is getting right on my tits.

Chuffed we're 4 points clear of deep doggy doo, Stephens again very good - great to finally see a run beyond the strikers from a midfield. Smalley ? Much, much better! Lee impressed me, Nardiello had been doing well - but that's the last we'll see of him. Finally, Taylor - much more involved and i hope there's more to come. Two decent goals but shutting up shop AGAIN pissed me right off!

Yada yada - for me a great performance - lovely slick passing - they played relaxed good pass/moving football - almost faultless display

  10. I was impressed with the performance today. We defended when we needed to (which wasn't that often if truth be told) and we attacked well and could quite easily have scored 5 or 6 goals.

I liked the look of Jason Price and him and Abbott linked up well on a few occasions.

PS. Those who were singing "you don't know what you're doing" to DP when he took furman off, get a grip you fools!

Agree - Penney is always being called negative - so.....he brings a more attacking creative midfielder on for a more industrious one (although he was brilliant at what he does best!) and he then doesnt know what he is doing - the bloke cannot win (oh wait - we did didnt we!) Thought Colbeck should have come on for Deano sooner fink that's what got on people's goat more than anything else - but was all a bit harsh!
