  1. We've sold around 1200-1300. Maybe a few will pay on the gate but we won't get near 2,000
  2. Thanks for all the advice everyone. See you in a few weeks.
  3. We're far from naughty, believe me. The Grey Mare might be handy for us with that free car park next to the large green/park. If I'm right, this is pretty much halfway between the pub and the ground.
  4. Think we'll be heading across the A616 and A628 after doing some pick ups along the way. Depending which members want to go I guess there's a slight chance we'll go across the A50 by Stoke but it's unlikely. Only concern about drinking outside of Oldham is that we'll have a minibus which we'd rather park up early doors near the stadium for ease.
  5. Hi everyone, You might remember me posting prior to our two fixtures last season. Well since then I've played a part in gathering all Owls over the East Midlands together to start up our own supporters group. In just 2 or 3 short weeks we've managed to get just over 200 members signed up. We're a friendly and family orientated club. We're planning our first ever outing to the League Cup game at your place in August and will be displaying our new flag on the day (we think it's impressive). Anyway, do you have any suggestions on an ideal place for us to meet up for a few drinks pre-match? Last season I visited The Greyhound which was a nice enough place. Any other tips for the evening would be great. If you know of any Oldham fans in the East Midlands who might need a lift, we might be able to help. Good luck for the season. 6. You can understand people not travelling with it being on Sky. Quite a lot of beer tokens in the pub watching the game instead of match ticket and travelling costs if you're lucky enough to find some fuel. If you fancy a pub visit near the ground, The New Barrack Tavern is a great pub which welcomes away supporters. Loads of Real Ales and food. Think it's open around 830/9ish.
  7. All the time, it's actually become a bit frustrating We don't hooooooof it even when we really should.
  8. Any of you making the trip over on Monday? What are your thoughts on the game? If you're after any advice or tips to make your journey a pleasant one then please ask away.
  9. As a member of Owlstalk, I must defend the 'Massive' comments. This is actually a jibe directed at our neighbours across the city following their early season comments - please take it as a pinch of salt. Granted we do have our fair share of plonkers, but doesn't everyone! Nice comments. Anyway, I'll leave you all to it. Good luck tonight.
  10. Really enjoyed hearing all your thoughts. We actually thought Prutton's goal was very good, he was unlucky after attempting to go passed 2 players, then when you thought the chance had gone, he turned and finished well. It was typically a game of 2 halves, the ref was probably poor both ways and I can't speak for the lino as I was directly behind the goal. As said before, I guess on another day the result could've been quite different. You make your own luck, sometimes - were we lucky today, hmm not sure.
  11. Interesting you say that mate, don't see it from your own side. I guess it's a winning formula that doesn't look good from an oppositions point of view.
  12. Agree with your comments glossoplatic, apart from... Don't ever, ever, ever, compare us to them again.
  13. Cheers lads. I find it too easy to blame a ref, I did think he was a homer in the first half, but we all have our tinted specs on I guess. Hope some of you make the trip over after Easter.
  14. Firstly, sorry for our idiots in the corner as some of you were leaving near the end. Anyway, I thought you were all over is in the first half - at least the first 35-40 minutes. You stopped us playing and gave us no time on the ball; restricting us to long passes, not that we need much convincing! I felt we came into our own in the second and began to outplay you, not sure if it was down to fitness and desire or a combination of the both. I had a typical Wenger view of the penalty so not sure if it was or not. Our first goal was worthy of winning a match though. Anyway I won't harp on an infiltrate your forum any longer, good luck for the rest of the season - I sincerely hope you make the play offs.
