Agreed, however from a financial perspective and sustainability and dare I say the opportunity to have a little success will always be extremely limited if we can't generate income except for 23 days a year. Imagine having a business with expenses 365 days a year but only having 23 days a year to bring income in? It would be ok if we were renting the ground from say the council but operated the whole thing 7 days a week allowing the club generate other income streams.

Yep exactly - think we have between us answered the question of whittles left foot who asked why it's a priority to buy the ground!

I see people talking about finding a new ground, but how would this actually pan out in terms of attendances, club identity, etc etc. Obviously lots of other clubs have done it but for me buying back BP is the only option and moving elsewhere should be an absolute last resort.

Is it correct that the council contributed to the north stand, but as the club owed Blitz he's now taken over ownership of it? Unbelievable that the council would knowingly allow that to happen...

That's literally the case now. Let's not pretend we have our own ground now and one of the major reasons that suitable buyers are not lining up to buy the club.

I get your point but surely the difference there, and the point he's making, is that at least this is "our" rented ground and not sharing with another club. Would be a lot more dire if it was a team of our shit players with our badge on but playing at spotland every other week...

It’s looking like it’s back to using the Boundary Park potato field as the 12th man. Utilising it’s furrows and swamps and getting the ball to the big man up front.

I ever-so-slightly hate myself for it.. but I really enjoyed yesterday.

Found this yesterday, bit technical but an indication of the difficulties. From last pre-season, would be interesting to get an update on how they're dealing with the pitch at the minute!

  4. They cant win either way given our support is littered with moaning bastards

Pretty much agree with this. They proposed a move, clearly realised that many were against it and rather than risk upsetting said supporters made it voluntary but asked nicely. I don't really see the big deal in obliging them one game especially as they are making an effort with serving beer.

Can't win really can they? Wonder how many will actually move on Saturday.

  5. To be fair I thought Warnock and the other commentators were surprisingly good. Warnock sounded like he wanted us to win. He was quite scathing of the referee's performance as well as Mansfield's bully boy tactics.

Not sure why BT Sport is getting the bad press it is at the moment. Decent commentators, I quite liked Clem doing his Clem thing. I liked Dickov holding the brolly up for the 20 year old anchorman/boy. I even liked the little camera insets which appears when play was carrying on but a player was down or something. Getting an insight into their centre half having a hissy fit as he walked down the tunnel was gold.

Think I agree with all of this! Thought Warnock was the best pundit I've heard in ages, whether that was because he was slightly biased I don't know (or care) but he seemed dead on to me!
