  1. Personally I'd like him to stay in some capacity because it may not be the popular view but I feel he's done a decent job.

The amount of time he's put in keeping the club 'just about' running on such a shoe string deserves credit. The amount of his own money he has put in without getting owt back from it because the club loses so much money. Yes we may have been in this god forsaken division or too long but at least we've still got a club to support.

Look at the likes of Leyton Orient, Stockport who have plummeted due to bad ownership. The likes of Darlington and Chester that disappeared to have to be reformed by fans in much lower divisions.

My worry still with Abdallah is that it could turn into a Blackpool/Orient/Blackburn/Portsmouth style situation where it could all go wrong. Personally if SC was still about I can see him being a voice of reason for Abdallah and keeping us from being plunged down a couple of divisions

  2. I'd go for

    Wilson

    Wilson Clarke Stott

    McLaughlin Green Fane Fawns Hunt

    Davies Duffus

Stott in for Gerrard because his lack of pace shows us up and we won't miss his 'leadership' as Clarke is there. Get in the gym and lose some weight.

Fawns for Banks....Does this need explaining? He is half a mile behind the pace of the game and I think he gets lucky with his long passes. He doesn't look before doing them meaning mostly they go out of play, 2 in 10 go to a player and make him look good but I think this is more luck than judgement.

    What an anticlimax that was...

Looks like the goalkeeper is the least of our worries. Little shakey at times, distribution could improve and needs to grow in confidence to come off his line - but a decent debut from Wilson.

Shame we have a pretty non-existant midfield. Fane was decent but needs to be central. Green was okay defensively but shocking going forward, his final ball was attrocious. Banks was typical banks, a non-league player stealing a living in our engine room. McLaughlin was limited, plays better on the wing.

It'll be interesting when Gardner comes in, hopefully to replace Banks. Still think we need someone in the middle to run things more effectively.

I'd change things on Wednesday though:

                             Wilson

                 Wilson Clarke Gerrard

    McLaughlin Fawns Fane Green Hunt

                        Duffus Davies

Agree with absolutely everything said. The only thing I'd change is Stott in for Gerrard until he loses some weight. He's too fat and slow and gets shown up. If he was to play a 442 I'd have Brian in CB and bring Dummigan in at RB

  4. McLaughlin was the only one looking to go forward, but couldn't deliver an end product with the likes of a decent cross and was probably very lucky to stay on the park

Davies quick and put himself about but had no first touch,

    Holloway ineffective,

Typical Fane performance, runs about puts good challenges in but can't do anything with the ball,

Banks goes without saying. How he is still a professional footballer I do not know. He is slow, cannot tackle and if half a yard behind the pace of the game. He panics when he has the ball and if he's put under pressure he cannot find a blue shirt, and his dead balls have got worse.

Green ineffective as a winger so why play him there when we have tope, dummigan and flynn on the bench. Personally, id much rather have Green in CM and Banks loaned out to the Dog and Duck

Defence looked solid enough but didn't really have much cover from infront so it's hard work to play without any cover.

Lots for Shez to work on and I'd go back to the 352 that served us so well at the end of last year. McLaughlin and Hunt as WB's would be frightening.

Macca the only one looking to go forward, Davies quick and put himself about but had no touch, aah ineffective, typical fanny performance, wanks goes without saying and green ineffective as a winger. Defence looked solid enough but didn't really have much cover from infront so it's hard work

Is Stott a left footer or a natural left full back? Obviously I have not seen him live yet.  Trying to work out if we need one more left back in next years squad.

Left footer. Personally, I'd be happy with him at LB but only as a convention LB rather than a wing back

  6. We had a midfielder that commanded the ball when he first came through then, though shit coaching (Dunn, Robinson, Kelly) it was knocked out of him.

Whenever Winchester was on the pitch he was looking for the ball. Prime example of that was the shambles at Lincoln. Granted, it wasn't his best game in a latics shirt but even after he cost us the first goal he was still looking for the ball constantly. I remember his first game where he scored the screamer (MK I think) and even on debut he was constantly on the ball, looking to play it around.

Baxter was a talisman, took the ball in tight spaces , ran games from midfield , got us goals and assists and had the ability to get the crowd on their feet .

A Baxter, Winchester and AN Other midfield would be a pleasure to watch as the amount of natural skill the two of them have is huge. Their only downfall is they're both a little lightweight when it comes to tackling so they would need someone with them that could put the tackles in.
