Love how there's a thread on the Posh forums saying Wes is out for 12 weeks having a shoulder operation and a link to an 18 month out-of-date article on the Beeb.
-
I took it back, I have no idea to what you refer..
-
Grounds has previously played CB, I think. This Mills chap seems to be listed as purely LB.
-
Errrr, I take it back then 'cos I like Rodgers.
4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 is fine with me.
-
Oh, and if Grounds plays CB it means we have two 6'1-ers in the centre at the back to cause a bit of havoc. Solid, clever managing I think. Here's hoping it transfers onto the grass.
-
Great surname, can only be destined for success
-
I think if Baxter is fit he will play up top with Rooney, Rodgers in midfield with Korey and MacDonald on the bench.
Yes, the captain on the bench is a brilliant idea. I bet LJ has considered this and it is definitely the lineup he will pursue.
-
Everybody seems to be missing the crucial fact that Mellor is now a defender, and that you need to stop putting him in fantasy-midfield
-
I think people are forgetting that next week Cliff will probably score and throw in a few game changing tackles if he plays and therefore have dozens of threads proclaiming him the reborn messiah. This is the fickle world of Internet forums, rarely-if-ever to be taken with more than a pinch of salt. Those back-headers, though..
-
Training with the England senior squad too (to make up numbers, but still..)
-
Can we just try and start next week with 12 players, see if anyone notices?
-
Again I'll stick up for Brown. I like the little fella, but wish he'd take his man on. At the same time, I also wish Dayton would trust him more when he's on the overlap. Happened against Derby and happened loads yesterday when Brown made himself available and Dayton chose to cut back inside.
-
That's some planning....
If anyone is capable of it, it's our LJ. I don't think that happened at all though, of course.
I also don't particuarly want Cliff to leave, but I think he could be of much better service in a tracksuit with a certain young Latvian chained to his side.
-
whats with all this Byrne bashing? yeah he got caught on the ball once!! but he was on the pitch whilst Latics were camped out for the most part 25 yards out from Walsalls goal...... he wasn't that :censored:ing bad.
I didn't see a single good touch from him and those back-headers, oh my god..
Maybe all of this was a show of cunning from LJ, sick of hearing all of the Mellor bashing, he set us up.. told Mellor to fake injury, stuck on Byrne (and told him to be slow and clumsy), then told us not to bother being clinical or threatening in anything more than short impotent bursts.. safe in the knowledge there would be outcries of 'COME BACK MELLOR AT CB! WE NEED YOU!' and 'DON'T PLAY THE HOOF!', whilst plotting fervently to secure a 3-0 trouncing of Peterborough next week.
-
Drum feedback.. Good, but alter the tempo for different songs, or even for impact in the same song (slowing down every other 'verse' etc.) and please don't play the same song for so long. I don't think I ever want to hear the great escape ever again.
If the stewards step in, tell 'em LJ wants it and they can go and marshall the main stand if they don't like it.
-
I like Brown and thought he was pretty consistent today. Wish he'd take his man on or put in a cross and want Dayton to trust him more going forward on the overlap.
Tarkowski was a monster.
-
Missed out on £5k with Stevenage failing to beat Swindon as part of a tenfold accu. Fackin' Swindon.
-
Not great, but not absolute bollocks as some will inevitably hark. Nowhere near good enough though. Expect a full dressing down from LJ.
I will however say.. Anton Rodgers.
-
If anything it should slow down as it gains momentum, rather than the other way round.
Ohhh whenn theee blueeees *clap clap*
OOOOOOOOOOHHHH WHEEEEEEEEN THEEEEEE BLUUUUUUUUUUES *stomp, stomp*..
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN THEEEEEEEEEEEE BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEESSSS *hulk hulk*
-
Alternate between 'Come on Oldham!' and 'Ohhhhhh wheeeeeeeeeen theeeeeeee bluuuuuuuuuuuuues...' and we're fine. Stop complicating things with too many verses and tempo changes. Maybe throw in the occasional 'Johnson/Murray/Subsbench/Quarmby, give us a wave!'
-
Got to admit, I quite liked the atmosphere Derby's drummer helped create for the away fans on Toosdy night.
-
HT 1-1.
FT 3-1.
Can't wait to get back in the RRE. The turnstiles might be tighter, but at least I can see the full pitch unobstructed
To add to this. Latics to go 1-up from a Baxter penalty. Walsall to equalise in the 43rd minute.
2nd half Montano scores within 10 minutes of the break, and Mellor does a Tarkowski and volleys in from a low cross with 15 minutes to go.
Walsall have no response and we end the weekend top of the league.

Down with this sort of thing.
We'll win today.....
