  1. Guys am going to prob sound silly here but I have just purchased my first season ticket I haven't been able to in the past due to my job and location, quick question regarding the St is my seat reserved for just me or will anyone just sit where they want in the new stand just don't wanna pay a lot of money for someone to sit in my seat,, cheers lads

No you buy a St, so someone else can sit in your seat :laught16:

  2. Your post is spot on Midsblue.

If all these possible names for next manager are correct I shall not be renewing my season ticket.

I have supported OAFC for 49 years, have held a season ticket for 30 years, sponsored Mike Milligans kit and Nick Henrys kit, worked UNPAID in my professional capacity for the club and still love the club. However I cannot cope with the emotional upset caused by a club devoid of ambition. Corney should realise that by appointing Dowie the season ticket sale would rise exponentially, giving more income to subsidise the extra Dowie requires. Bigger crowds would make the club more attractive to buy. I am not a fan who moans about SC because his management has ensured we are still a good club ( consider Tranmere and Stockport), however the new stand taps into an optimistic next few years but by appointing an untried manager all could be lost. Dowie exhibits the same love and enthusiasm as we fans feel. He would raise our profile in the media and hence our club "saleability" if that's what Corney wants.

The success of a business is often to invest at the right time and now is that time. If the new manager is a rookie he will either bring some success and be poached or will fail and blow away all this new enthusiasm.

I say give Dowie the job for 3 years. Simon please look outside the box and let your heart join the rest of us. If not I and many others will no longer be buying season tickets.

Indeed now is the time to invest and build momentum with the new stand, as they will not be a better opportunity to do this.

Fully understand previously all finances had to go into the building of the new stand, new stand, new dawn & fresh hope :drinking66:

  3. I keep hearing Graham Rix's name mentioned by someone who works at Latics. I don't know if it's with view to being this guys assistant. It is also worth noting that he nearly became LJ's assistant during the summer of 2013, but there were disagreements at board level due to not being allowed alone with the youth team. I assume that will still be the case, but he keeps getting mentioned...

Do we really need any more shenanigans?

  4. It would be a disaster if Holden was appointed manager on a permanent basis, do not think anybody can give a strong argument to appoint him based on the facts since he has been in charge.

Valley Parade fire was a disaster, appointing or not appointing a manager would not, have a bit of perspective pal.

Can you please explain how & why you have twisted my comments, to bring Valley Parade into this for no reason whatsoever is disgusting in my opinion?

  5. Think it is essential to get a manger in now as apposed to the summer, we can forget the play off's.

If a new manager is appointed now, he will be able access the strengths & weaknesses of the squad, and formulate a plan for summer going forward.

If we appoint a new manager in the summer he will truly get a true reflection of the changes he wants to make to the squad until eight to twelve games into the new season.

So in my opinion we need to appoint now, to enable us to have the best possible start to the new season, allowing him to ship in and out as he feels necessary.

  6.

I dont feel conned from a footballing point of view and yes we have been left in a better position however I am very wary of the little :censored: already tapping up the likes of Kelly......hopefully SC will play hard ball

however..........I do feel duped as a fan by Johnson......he could have gone about his job and got the buy in from the fans without all this (now) tub thumping and #oneteamonedream #whoscomingwithme etc etc whilst all the time behind my/our backs touting himself around like a whore trying to get a better position.

I'm happy to move on but I will still tell him what I think against Barnsley and I do still hope he crashes and burns and feels the wrath of this 'bigger club' he craved.

I feel Johnston took us to the cleaners personally.

  7.

Bollocks, well your entitled to your opinion of course but it's important to remember that Harbin wasn't just in charge with fitness though, he is also a Sports Psychologist. I lost track of how many games in that season that we got extra points out of in the last 10 minutes. Fitness and mental toughness being key factors to playing the full 90 minutes.

The only time we have had sustained success has been with real partnership between manager and main coach; Royle & Donnachie. Dowie and Harbin were a very good partnership!

Think peoples logic on teams scoring late goals is incorrect, it is definitely down to mindset and never stopping/giving in, and setting high standards for the team, as apposed to fitness.

  8. I don't give a rat's arse about Lee Johnson. He's gone now, no longer part of the club so deserves absolutely none of my time. He's just another person involved in football. As an individual he's free to do as he damn well pleases.

I've been downvoting things I've seen that I've considered to be crass or overly emotive. No need for a discussion on it; it's your opinion and I have no desire to try and change it. I merely disagree with the language/tone.

    I am in a quandary,

There;s a rat in my kitchen, what am i going to do?
