  1. It wasn't a difficult application form to fill in. I have no idea how they chose people, but to be honest I don't think there's any reason to provide feedback. I doubt it would be of any real use to the people who applied.

If you look at the costs of the time it would take to produce a mail merge data spreadsheet, the time to produce a letter, stuff envelopes and then actually pay to post them, it would all add up.

Yes it may be nice for people to be told they haven't been successful for a job, but in my experience this just doesn't tend to happen much. Be it a casual job like this or a career type job.

In my opinion I don't think the club have done anything wrong as essentially they have let the unsuccessful applicants know on the official site.

  2. Firstly, I totally support the Golden Ticket initiative. There was no moaning from me. BUT... the club said they were thinking of some sort of compensation for ST holders. Where is this? If offers like this come about in the future then it defeats the point of my ST being value for money.

Oh and I also agree that the deadline sucks.

  3. Now I know I'm a little bit late on this, and I am repeating myself as I have posted this somewhere before, but I'm going to chip in anyway.

I work for a multi-disciplinary consultancy. We do everything you could possible imagine. We design buildings, we take them through planning, we do ground testing, we look at ecology. The whole lot. (I'm a tree hugger in a suit who checks they're sustainable)

I am working on a project in Warrington that is classed as a community sports facility. It is a flagship project that is receiving funding from various pots as well as from private investors and partners such as Warrington Wolves.

I emailed Alan Hardy and Simon Corney some time ago to tell them about this project (after BP was condemned I think). Could we help in any way? Try and go down the same route? Could we come in and have a chat? Free of charge. I knew the architect firm they were using, but we could offer so much more.

    Brick wall.

    Not interested.

We will stick with these architects.

And that was it for me. My opinion was formed. They aren't interested in taking the club forward. Big time blinkers. There's an end game, I'm not sure what it is, but I believe they do not have Latics as the priority.

  4. Everyone who normally goes will be there and saving £18.

I've just asked two guys at work who used to go:

"You coming to the Carlisle game for £2? We're playing really well, some nice football."

"I hadn't heard about that, yeah I might actually. When is it?!

    "Next Tuesday"

    "Nah, not during the week."

I think a real 'experiment' would have been on a Saturday. Just my opinion like.

  5. Spot on it is done all the time and has been done for years. I was at a meeting where the householders objecting to the plans put in to build on their land and access up a shared drive the planning is nothing to do with ownership. Daft as that sounds. It is to allow potential buyers to see if there plans for land are viable.

I have never known any scheme that I have worked on to be progressed up to planning when ownership/status of the land is not 100% known. Yes you can go for planning on land that you don't yet own, but what's the point? However, in moost cases it would then be the simple case of buying the land. This isn't that simple as I understand. The land is in limbo. Nobody knows what can be done with it yet.

The fees paid out to consultants and the design team on this project will run into the tens of thousands. Nice work if you can get it, all that design with no hassle of dealing with a contractor

  6. That was becasue that player did not supply AH with the contractually agreed first born for his cellar.

EDit actually it might have been becasue he did not take his turn goig to Tesco's.

ARe you sure they did not jsut make a mistake and sort it?

All I know is that the player collected wage slip on Fri before Yeovil to find that only basic pay was there. They were due additional payments.

  7. I've been poking my nose into club affairs, I'm guessing it's exactly what you have said it is, maybe in response for our discussion a few days ago. I'm aware I turned a few "senior" heads this way for a bit.

Exactly. I read that thread. It makes no sense. You don't go ahead with plans on a piece of land unless you own it. It's silly. I work in construction and have never ever ever experienced anything as unprofessional. The worst I've seen is things being on hold for some pesky newts. Even then you can pick them up and move them lovingly

I just find the whole thing farcical (spelling?!). No one seems to know what they're doing with it. I can't see it ever getting anywhere. I don't believe it will end up happening. But then I am a pessimist :hanged:
