I get hurt when I am not called a real fan by a lot of people...including Barry Owen...
I don't know what exactly constitutes a "real fan" but it surely isn't someone who not only doesn't go to games himself but also suggests others are undermining the future of the club BY doing so?
-
Dare I suggest that if you continue to pay money into the "system" and do not take a stand then you are not a real fan with the best interest of the club at heart?
Just a thought like....
unbelievable.

they're not in the game of squandering cash on sentimentality.
when did this change?
because, to me that's all supporting OAFC has ever been about.
it never has been and never will be a considered decision like which restaurant to go to or what film to go and watch, where to go on holiday.
the facilities, food, drink etc have always been :censored:.
so has the football & atmosphere give or take the odd season here and there.
there's always been a new/better ground on the cards.
what's become so different for the 20 or 30 who go apopleptic over something or other on here every day?

Stadium Plans, a simple question we all want to know Barry
I don't, so could you change the thread title please?
-
it's a real breath of fresh air to see a thread so chocful of such novel viewpoints on the matters in question
-
I really think Barry shouldn't post here anymore, not because of anything he says is wrong, but threads become a mess of arguments and insults.
just Barry?
-
Widespread disgruntledness, as reflected on this website, and mass desertion of BP.
UNDERPERFORMING FOOTBALL CLUB IN CROWD DROP SHOCKER!!!!

Do you really think it's just because of one bad season?
what, exactly, is "it"?
-
How old are you ?
talk about prove his point

I, and many others, just happen to believe that they have got it badly wrong.
and I, and many others, don't.

So west ham move into a council built ground on cheap . (olympic stadium)
Offer really cheap season tickets and mach day offers in a desperate bid to fill it .
Smaller Local League One club ( leyton orient) suffer as fans choose the bigger better football , for a little bit more money , and small club slowly deteriorates.
Three house points for who can tell me where thats happened before!

survival of the fittest - football has always been that way and always should be.
isn't the alternative the American way and a load of MK Dons?
-
Looking on the site lately you could not blame them if they lost interest and if they left who do you believe would finance the club.
I have spoken to one of the owners who invites you to say if you want them to leave and if you feel that is the way forward then just say so.
barry,
please tell me the owners don't take the views of an extremely vocal, melodramatic minority on a messageboard that seriously??
-
i would also like to see positive tactics and subs, forget playing it safe, you may as well get beat 4-0 as 1-0,so just go for it from the off.
like Saturday?

I think it's fair to "have a go" at the wording on the OS. It is unneccessarily abrupt, regardless of the reasons for the decision.
how can you possibly say that without knowing the reasons?
-
I can't be arsed to read through 11 pages, is there actually a conference on?
no but training has been moved to 10pm tonight
-
Don't be paranoid, people (in the main) are not using it as an excuse to have a go at the club, many are just offering an objective opinion on the possible reason(s) for the split.
You yourself have actually no idea whatsoever has gone on but have leapt to the clubs defence without knowing the facts.
have I?
-
great how everyone's using this as another excuse to have a go at the club despite having no idea whatsoever what has actually gone on
-
A mixture of cancelled games, missed matches (book your holidays around the fixture list and get screwed by postponements) and a sense of apathy has kept me off the board for a while.
I am not surprised to see the amount of anti-Penny threads and comments, but yet again we seem to be moving more and more towards the revolving door manager policy that we used to ridicule the Man City fans for.
6 months is not enough time to judge any manager, no matter how bad we are doing. Are that much worse than last season?
Look at our goals against column, and it stands comparison to most of the division. We just are not scoring enough goals - Swindon in 5th have scored 35 goals in 25 games (not that impressive) and have a simlar defensive record. Over the last few years we have had Lee Hughes, and before that Chris Porter (and even Clyde and Wayno before that) who contributed a decent haul of goals. With something similar this season, we'd be up in the top half on the fringes of the play-offs.
This is a very ordinary division, and we are an ordinary team. A decent player up front and we'd compete.
Whilst from the outside it looks like we have dropped off a cliff in terms of form from last season, we know that the second half of last season was about the same as the start to this. Why should we not give DP time to turn it around?
Sack him and we'll get what? Less money for players / wages as we pay him off. No real chance of getting anyone on paper who is any better?
Give him time and Keep the Faith.
excellent post - agree 100%
-
bloody Rooney wouldn't find the net too often without the service from a more positive and attacking setup.
you don't think he would have scored in the first half on saturday?

is that the press conference has been cancelled and a training session called for 10am...may all be rubbish as per but 2 people with reasonably reliable sources have both said press conference is cancelled.
-
it would be so embarrassing if this was to actually happen
-
I'll protest against that and TTA in general. I want them out.
but it wasn't for TTA you wouldn't have a crap team to protest against
