  1. I get hurt when I am not called a real fan by a lot of people...including Barry Owen...

I don't know what exactly constitutes a "real fan" but it surely isn't someone who not only doesn't go to games himself but also suggests others are undermining the future of the club BY doing so?

  2. they're not in the game of squandering cash on sentimentality.

    when did this change?

because, to me that's all supporting OAFC has ever been about.

it never has been and never will be a considered decision like which restaurant to go to or what film to go and watch, where to go on holiday.

the facilities, food, drink etc have always been :censored:.

so has the football & atmosphere give or take the odd season here and there.

there's always been a new/better ground on the cards.

what's become so different for the 20 or 30 who go apopleptic over something or other on here every day?

  3. So west ham move into a council built ground on cheap . (olympic stadium)

Offer really cheap season tickets and mach day offers in a desperate bid to fill it .

Smaller Local League One club ( leyton orient) suffer as fans choose the bigger better football , for a little bit more money , and small club slowly deteriorates.

Three house points for who can tell me where thats happened before!

survival of the fittest - football has always been that way and always should be.

isn't the alternative the American way and a load of MK Dons?

  4. Looking on the site lately you could not blame them if they lost interest and if they left who do you believe would finance the club.

I have spoken to one of the owners who invites you to say if you want them to leave and if you feel that is the way forward then just say so.

    barry,

please tell me the owners don't take the views of an extremely vocal, melodramatic minority on a messageboard that seriously??

  5. A mixture of cancelled games, missed matches (book your holidays around the fixture list and get screwed by postponements) and a sense of apathy has kept me off the board for a while.

I am not surprised to see the amount of anti-Penny threads and comments, but yet again we seem to be moving more and more towards the revolving door manager policy that we used to ridicule the Man City fans for.

6 months is not enough time to judge any manager, no matter how bad we are doing. Are that much worse than last season?

Look at our goals against column, and it stands comparison to most of the division. We just are not scoring enough goals - Swindon in 5th have scored 35 goals in 25 games (not that impressive) and have a simlar defensive record. Over the last few years we have had Lee Hughes, and before that Chris Porter (and even Clyde and Wayno before that) who contributed a decent haul of goals. With something similar this season, we'd be up in the top half on the fringes of the play-offs.

This is a very ordinary division, and we are an ordinary team. A decent player up front and we'd compete.

Whilst from the outside it looks like we have dropped off a cliff in terms of form from last season, we know that the second half of last season was about the same as the start to this. Why should we not give DP time to turn it around?

Sack him and we'll get what? Less money for players / wages as we pay him off. No real chance of getting anyone on paper who is any better?

Give him time and Keep the Faith.

    excellent post - agree 100%
