Strangely that before the Solihull game and for a few weeks earlier, my £5 bet, at 14 to 1 for promotion with bet365, had a pay out of £1.53. After Solihull it took a jump to £2.80.

So the bookies are thinking we have a much better chance now.

Petera. I have never played in Oldham tt league. Played in Bury, Bolton and East Lancs for near 40 years. Have lived in Herefordshire for 5 years and play in 1st div there.

I do know a few of Oldham players as I play in VETTS nationals and regional comps and Lancashire is always well represented. A lot of the Oldham players also played Bury as it was top league for many years. Sorry I don't remember your dad.

Little more.L. I probably thought the same when I was in my 50s. But now 78(this week) and am having a good time(except for Latics league posistion). 2 knees and a hip replacement and still playing table tennis in local league at the top level and ranked at 52 in uk in my age group. Only 2 lbs heavier than at 21.

I want some more time if possible. But who knows. Just hoping we can get back to 3rd tier before it's my time.

With regards to the John Lowe story sacking frizz. I find that hard to believe as he had improved our league position each year. We were also still in the fa cup v Cambridge, which we won after3 games and played Burnley in the 4th round at home. 25,000 crowd.

I was at the chesterfield game and remember the groves miss. I was also at bristol r for the 2-1 win at Easter.

Who was the east European team we played in a pre season friendly in our "pinch me season". We won 4-0 and I seem to remember the opposistion played a euro final the previous year.

I saw all 3 games. I have a feeling the game at Cambridge was 11.15 or 11.30.   There was another FA cup match that day but was an afternoon KOff. So we were down in football history as the 1st pro game on a sunday.   The other games were both 2.00pm.  

We are without Surridge for now(possible return) but we have scored goals without him. 14 different scorers in all competions this season.

I agree. I think Bury fans would agree also.   Claude Puel now favourite for next sacking. Read a few comments from Leics. fans. They couldnt understand why they didnt go for cup as they have nothing else to play for.   Also listened to talk on Latics "pinch me " season. Had forgotten we played 66 games that season. 12 games in 29 days toward end. 16 man squad. 6 players played over 60 games. Earl Barret played every minute of every game. Yet the prem complain of to many games.

Sir Jimmy Frizzell was never a shouter on or off the pitch, but he certainly put his point across to his players. He put himself about on the pitch to good effect as did Scholes(shame his timing in tackles was a bit off). Similar players ,albeit Scholes a class above.

Bet Victor odds.    Scholes and Wild joint favourites at 2/1. Askey 6/1 and Clark at 8/1. Pressley now out to 12s. Wonder if Gary Rowett might be on the radar.

I think Omrani will start on Saturday. He deserves it.He looks a class above this division. Good first touch,sees a pass,can tackle and works hard. Wouldn't be surprised if he also has a few goals in him. Otherwise unchanged. Keep Menig fresh for the last 20mins if needed. We also have a fit Green if Byrne runs himself into the ground again. Its great having all these choices as against last season.

Lister scored 32 in our promo season and Frizzell 26. We scored 92 in total.  Lister missed out on Latics season record by 3. Amazingly Frizzell was converted into a defensive half back which you would now call a holding midfielder. I would bet that Bobby Johnstone supplied most of those goals.

I am still very happy with my bets just after loss to Charlton.   Top half 11-1.  Play offs 66-1. Promotion 250-1.  If all 3 come up I may be able to help buying Doyle!

I have my bets on for play offs(66-1)Top half(11-1) with sky, but odds well down now. But cant understand that the 250-1 for promotion hasnt altered. £100 on that to win £25 grand would be nice. Could afford a box for the 1st season back in championship mmmmmmm.   Must have Byrne, Doyle ,Bryan and Wellens to achieve that dream.

I have met Byrne. I am 5/10 and he was a whisker short of me . So 5/9 sounds right. Lets compare. Bobby Johnstone(Latics best ever midfielder) 5/7. Bobby Collins(70 odd caps for scotland) 5/2. Bert Lister(99 goals in 140games) 5/9. What of our 2 yard dogs. Henry and Milligan. Aprox 5/9. Jim Fryatt(best header of a ball ever,at any level) 5/11. What does it matter as long as they can deliver results.

I put £30 on a top half finish at 11/1 and £20 on a top 6 finish at 66/1 just after the Charlton game. Wish I had waited until the 5-1 defeat at Rotherham as those odds were then 16/1(top half) and 150/1 (top6). I would think those odds have been well slashed this morning!  Must keep Doyle and Byrne. Can't understand how they didn't catch at Prestom and Wigan.

Going off distance to Oxford (121 miles) and to Oldham (91miles).  They took 442 to Oxford (about 8% of home fans) Shorter distance and still top , maybe 13% of home fans. Thats 650.

Its possible the Polish keeper from Sunderland may play tonight. Hope also to see " No 17" again, he's got to be worth a full game.

Cameron Stewart is 26year old. Played 126 league games since leaving Utd. Various clubs and loans including Hull,Burnley,Leeds,Blackburn,Charlton,Barnsley,Donny. Also 10 games for England under 17s,18s and 21s.Could be worth another look for a full game. Fane was our MOM last night, won the ball alot against v good midfielders.Covered a lot of ground. No 17 was very good on the ball and also must be worth another go. Reminds me of the little midfielder at Walsall. Plenty of banter between Clarkie and and their striker. Didnt know he could speak spanish. Stats say Gerona had 57% possesion but i thought more. Enjoyable game for a friendly.
