  1. This could be fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all want to see a Great Britain football team. It's the right thing to do to have a successful Olympics."

He added that he has spoken to Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, a fellow Scot, about the possibility of leading a GB football team.

Ferguson has previously said that he would not "try to commit myself to something that is four years ahead".

  2. I have just moved to the midlands from Dorset, and now no longer work every weekend so i can start to go to more home and away games over the season. So is there anybody in the midlands who regulary travel to games and wouldn't mind me tagging along?

    Drop me message

When i have any space in the car you are more than welcome

From Nuneaton eh that's a very strange place they all have 6 fingers on each hand have you noticed that

However looks like 4 from here home and away most of the time but will let you know fella

  3. If he knows his mind isn't right he's made a good decision to move on. I personally don't see him being recalled either as batsman or skipper in future.

As for the replacement, I really don't think Pieterson would be a great captain. Too selfish. Great player, but I don't think the added responsibility of leadership will change him.

The Rob Key option intrigues me. He's never quite been good enough for the test side, but suddenly people say he should run the show? Odd, but I like the idea of an outside influence coming in to freshen things up.

Collingwood blew it as a poor one day captain, deteriorating after a promising start. Flintoff proved that bowler's shouldn't captain the side.

Which brings me to Strauss. Who had a short spell in charge a couple of years ago and did well.

So Strauss or Key for me.

    Any other suggestions?

Bound to be someone from the Southern Counties !!!!!!

Strauss wouldn't mind betting on him

Piertersen is not a team player

Sorry 2 dirty leeds in there !!!

  5. Some of our Rivals to watch next season. Obviously there will be more transfer movement yet. But with 5 weeks or so to go, heres who I think will be the main contenders.

Leeds - Goes without saying really. More money than everyone.

Leicester - First signing is Lloyd Dyer and if you look at the rest of the squad, it looks like it'll take some beating in league one.

Huddersfield. Keigan Parker and 2 Scunthorpe players who have, "been there and done it" at this level brought in so far. Stan Ternent is a shrewd manager in the lower leagues and I expect them to mount a challenge. One team always comes out of the pack from the previous season and I think it'll be them.

Colchester - Paul Reid, Matt Lockwood and Matt Heath are in my opinion good signings. Vernon will score in league one and I think they'll be up there.

Peterborough - Ok McLean looks like he's going, but they have plenty of money and a winning attitude. I'd expect them to be in the top 8.

I've avoided talking about us. I'll do that in 4 weeks or so.

I think Leicester Leeds MK Franchise & Peterboro Will all be in the top five with us

    Outsiders Hudds

  6. Just seen the vid on the demolishment of the Lookers, how hopeless are they?! One guy must have been attacking the same piece of wood for an age with a pickaxe, the guy in the United shirt needs sacking and whats the point of the JCB? I could have more stuff up with my hands than what they were picking up. Give me a sledgehammer and I'll get the stand down quicker!

Should have left it the 1st Game of season

Millwall scum would do it nothing and in 90 mins :o

  7. anybody have ince down as the next england manager? doesnt have any loyalty to any particular club, and isnt affraid to say what he thinks. its more about his career than club success for him. give it five or six years and he will be a good choice.

Yes that's the one for the future

Stuart Pierce in a couple of years time then Ince to be his assistant

Both men with passion for England and can speak the lingo ( well sort of )

  8. I was once up to 71 but over the past decade despite adding at least 5 grounds have now gone down to 67 (ish)

I have been to the following grounds which are no longer league grounds.

MANSFIELD, BARROW, SCARBOROUGH, CAMBRIDGE UNITED, OXFORD UTD, WREXHAM,YORK, HALIFAX , SOUTHPORT, ALDERSHOT (do they count now?) and I'm sure I've missed some

    62 For me

Workington ( what a place that was)

  9. At this level that isnt good enough though.... Got to take your chances.....

Probaly best used as a squad player to come on later in the game he has the ability to score at that level

Still think he will be used in the WC qualifiers but not in the starting line-up

  10. I should add - it's difficult to know how much to take from tonight. USA were surprisingly bad. League One at best. So much for them being a rising force in 'soccer'... :laught16:

Great to see Rooney not liking being subed throwing his rattle out of the pram

That shows passion mind you if he would have stayed on he would have been sent off the red mist was coming down again

Lampard not a patch on Gerrard

Defoe got into good positions just not his night
