The week starts with two trips to the Wirral.

 

On Monday afternoon at 14.00 the Latics U-18's have a Lancashire Youth Cup Semi Final against Tranmere Rovers. The game is at Raby Vale - Tranmere Rovers training ground. Address is Wilaston Road, Thornton Hough, Wirral CH63 4JG

 

Directions: Exit M53 J4. At the roundabout take the exit sign posted Clatterbridge. Follow the road to another roundabout,taking the 1st exit. Follow the road for approx 1 mile going straight over at the mini roundabout. Raby Vale will be on the left.

 

Sean Garnetts side have picked up a few wins the last few weeks and the Quarter Final win at Burnley was very unexpected. A hard task after the dissapiontment of yesterdays loss to Darlington in the Youth Alliance Northern Final.

 

On Wednesday evening the reserves play at Prenton Park against Tranmere's Reserves. KO at 19.00. Tranmere have won three in a row since a 8-1 home reverse to Preston. Latics won last week at Burnley but will have to replace the released Medi Alabimba - another trialist maybe?.

 

Next Saturday the youth team have another home game at Chapel Road against Wrexham (11.00) This is the last home game for the lads and for some the last home game for the second year scholars who do not get offered a pro contract.

 

Anyone going to straight to BP/Rifle Range from that game I would appreciate a lift as the wife is doing her charity gig again.

 

Next Saturday afternoon the first team wrap up the week with a home game against Charlton Athletic (15.00).
