Museum de Latique
Busy week this week as the season for three Latics teams approaches its conclusion. The reserves wrap up their Totesport.com home campaign against Wrexham (@ Stalybridge on Tuesday at 19.00). Wrexham are having a excellent reserve campaign and I saw them beat Bury at Radcliffe last week by 6-1. Latics won 4-0 at Airbus UK when the teams played earlier in the season. After last weeks schallacking at Macc Town with "experienced pro's" playing, coach Duxbury will give more of the younger lads a game (fingers crossed). The youth team play on Thursday at 14.00 at Carlisle United. The game is scheduled for Creighton Rugby Club (CA1 3SR) if anyone else if as daft as me and wants to go. On Good Friday the first team are at Exeter City (15.00). Being a Bank Holiday we will be making a early start to hopefully miss the traffic. On Saturday the youth team play their final Youth Alliance league game again against Bury at Rossendale United's Dark Lane (11.00 KO) For those who have asked the game at Carlisle will be my 100th Oldham Athletic game of the season. Directions to Creighton Rugby Club Leave the M6 at Jct 42 and follow the signs for City Centre. After the first set of traffic lights turn right (shop on corner) on the Cumwhinton Road. Follow road to mini roundabout take 1st exit onto Garlands Road. After a quarter of a mile turn right onto Sycamore Lane. Rugby club car park 100 yards on the right. Directions to Rossendale United M6 or M61 onto M65. Leave at J5 (Walker Park). Round the island onto the B6322, follow the signs for Haslingden. Pass the reservoirs, go under the motorway bridge and turn 1st right onto A56, signpost Manchester. Take the 1st junction, approx 400 yards, though the traffic lights and follow signs for Rawtenstall. At the large roundabout take the exit for Burnley A682. At 1st set of traffic lights turn right into Newchurch Road (signposted Rossendale United). Pass the market and Marl Pits Sports Complex. Continue up the hill to Newchurch Village, turn right between the Boars Head and Blue Bell pubs. Pass the church, the ground is 100 yards on the left.
