An interesting read. I was, and still am, Latics mad but don’t remember his stay with us at all. Must have been very fleeting. A sobering read, thanks BP and a happy new year.
Whilst he was at Latics he boarded at my mates family home in Royton, as did quite a few (mainly younger) Latics players over the years.
We use to read his porn mags whilst he was out. I remember he use to have an ashtray overflowing with tab ends by the side of his bed.

Shez signed all the players that turned it round. Wellens took the credit and then brought his shit in and we then couldn't win in 8!
Wellens took over after Shez was sacked after getting 4 points from the first 9 games (as Eyresy has already mentioned) .

Aye- in the exactly the same way he had a go at AL in the January for not signing Matt Mills- after letting Peter Clarke go and getting 6 of his own signings. He got the best backing of any manager in AL tenure- and still couldn’t buy a win in the last eight. Non of it was his fault though.
He went to Swindon and did well, to leave saying shit like that- just lacks class and shifts blame IMO.
Neither could Shez in his first six. Does he also get the blame?

Do they still support us? Expected them to make a big effort w flags n shit. I liked them, takes a lot to be a young Latics fan these days.
I bet most of them have grown out of it by now. They must of been around for 5-6 years.

Made a bit of a Pratt of yourself there haven’t you .....he played for us in 2017
Isn't he the lad we got from QPR on loan who scored on his debut at Gillingham away in 2013?
I can't be arsed checking Google.

Haha it's not bad.
I personally prefer a bit of gabber music to help me start the day

I'm just glad we aren't travelling to a long distance away game together Matt. With yourself in the front passenger seat in charge of the music

No matter how anyone tries to spin it, 3,000 ton750nis a disaster when very few other clubs have shown a major drop.
We've ve had 3,000 for several years, more after relegation to L2.
Not seen that sort of drop anywhere, even if there is relegation involved.
As already mentioned on here, this anniversary season has been a massive opportunity missed by the club to reach out to the fans.
It would of been a small step but selling season tickets at £125 would of been a great gesture and would of helped improve the clubs imagine.

60 miles to the nearest decent football club though unlike us sat in the shadow of two of the richest clubs in the worldSaying that though, if we had anything like a half decent run we would smash 1700
I bet Stockport have sold more than 600 season tickets.

Not panicking just being sensible by extending the early bird deadline - especially if we start well.
I'm sure they must be slightly nervous BigDog.

When appointed by Latics last year, it was revealed that Ms Atkinson was to get to work with the off-field team in establishing an efficient structure for the workforce, whilst also working closely with the club’s community trust to deliver the vision and help improve the club’s image in the local area.
I wonder if she has been sacked for failing to improve the club's image. I would say that is an impossible task.
You'd imagine its more likely a cost cutting exercise. Since when has the club ever given a shit about it's image.

Jonny on our mercurial No.10:
He enjoyed the diverse dressing room and singled out one player in particular who impressed him.
“The group was brilliant, every player gets on,” he said.
“The French lads were great with me. Some of them have been there a long time now, three or four years, so they know the club and know what it’s about.
“I really like Mohamed Maouche.
“He’s a very good trainer and very good on a match day. On his day he’s a great player.
“He can really open teams up but is also really competitive and wants to win. He is a top, top pro and I think his time will come.
“He’s very talented and it’s only a matter of time for him.”
That Smith eh - What does he know about football?
At 27 he's at the peak of his career, so if it hasn't happened yet for him when will it?
