    Tom Elliott Josh Harrop (from stockport ex united and pne) Dion McGhee (from oldham ex united) James weir from preston ex united) Rhys Bennett (from bolton) Lewis Mansell (from burnley) Danny lloyd (from liverpool) i know hes coming back from injiry but would be perfect on the wing IMO All would improve the squad and the playing 11 and all based in the north west

    Heres a thought, if your squad isnt fit enough for 90 mins then go gung ho in the first half with 2 stikers with tollitt and rooney nearby to try and score a couple in the first half then shut up shop when a decent lead has been accrued. No point being dead on your legs with a 1 nil lead and inviting pressure like its the alamo. Only one thing can occur from there and so hard to then chase the game for another goal. 4-4-2 with rooney off a wing or 4-1(sheron) - 3-2 way to go.

    The fitness thing is a fair shout. Just think the B team could ve a good way of assessing someone like him (once its up and running)

    Sounds a tasty appointment. I think a player like Jamie Thomas would be worth a run in this new B team and see what hes about.

    Left of field but is jamie thomas still available on a free. Plucked out of non league by preston after bagging two against them from attacking midfield for bamber bridge last year in a pre season friendly. Out to halifax on loan last year 9 appearances with a goal for them in national league. Hes 25, a number 10, possibly more mobile than Rooney. Definitely should add something to the squad. Maybe the ex preston link could be a tie in with Unsworth who says he wants to improve hungry players. Streets ahead of stobbs etc
