  1. Sutton is so easy to take on. He is so bad when someone runs at him.
  2. The game has moved on from carrying a player in the middle whose only attribute is tackling and running. His game invites pressure as he does not have the ability to take the ball on the turn and drive forward. So we just go backwards and then hoof it forward. The main issue with this team is the midfield. I think he‘s ok playing the role Shelton is at the moment - coming on for 20mins at the end. But he should not be part of a starting eleven going for promotion.
  3. Completely agree. There are plenty of midfielders who can tackle AND pass. He is nowhere near good enough to play in a two, sits too deep, and doesn't know how to pass forward. Even so, I think people need to calm down a bit. 11 points out of 15 is good, and we are still searching for a manager. If it takes a few more weeks so be it - why rush and end up with someone like Unsworth? We are only 2 points off the playoffs. If a new man comes in now, his target will be to reach the playoffs, no way the board will expect anything more now. I'm not sure what people want from a caretaker manager. He is picking up points and until that stops, let the process of finding a manager take place.
  4. We were good first half, and Norwood missed a very good chance to make it 2-0. Second half was very poor. Midfield is weak, no idea why Sheron got another year contract. Lundstram will make us better, but we need another one like him.
  5. I would try this. Shelton looked ok at RB in the game he played there last year. He certainly isn‘t a midfielder, and Sutton is not a RB.
  6. the problem is they are both always just 2 metres in front of the defence. Just inviting pressure. When the do get the ball, they are allergic to looking forward and just turn around and pass backwards. We all know they are a terrible pairing, just hope Lundstrom can come on at half time.
  7. Don‘t think out midfield is capable of that… We‘ll be clinging like a dingleberry for the rest of the match. Hopefully we can nab another on the break.
  8. Very happy with the win. I will take plenty more like that this season. Re: Green. I think with a player like him, you have to accept that a winger at conference level will not have consistent end-product. If he puts 2-3 score-able crosses in a game, that is enough. I remember a couple last night where he whipped them in, but no on gambled at the near post. He won‘t play at a higher level, but is ok for us at the moment.
  9. Great game so far. We started on fire, and with confidence. Wonder why? York grew into the game, but are susceptible on the break - which we need to take advantage of better.
