The FACT he scored goals for us as a 20 year old, scored goals to get Colchester promoted, scored goals to get Blackpool promoted and is now scoring goals in the Championship kinda points to him being good enough.
Vernon would have scored the same amount of goals Porter did if he had played for us last season.
But Grayson won't release Vernon. With the capture of McPhee they now have 4 strikers - Vernon, Burgess, Morrell. Parker is on the way out, rated at £200k. A healthy competition, as McPhee can play in the holding role, in the wings as well as up front.

what is this obsession with vernon with a lot of oldham fans, he was not good enough the first time why would he be this time. (for those who say he was, get a grip)
we need to look to new faces, not where former players are at, allott is the excetion this season and hes proved alot of people wrong, but this does not been we should re-sign former platyers , MOVE ON
Vernon is now getting a fair few starts after his recent brace. Parker seems on the way out but his move to Barnsley has stalled. Maybe a good signing but he hasn't scored this season. T-F, Burgess etc are all in Grayson's plans, so no chance and their contracts have some way to go.

I never knew about the min £15....
Has that been in placed for years or just recently ?
It's in FA Cup Rules:
© Immediately after the draw is known, the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the
prices of admission subject to the following conditions:
(i) The minimum admission (except to children and senior citizens) to matches shall be:
In the Extra-Preliminary, Preliminary and First Round Qualifying: £3.00
In the Second and Third Rounds Qualifying: £5.00
In the Fourth Round Qualifying: £6.00
In the First and Second Round Proper: £10.00
In the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Round Proper: £15.00
(ii) A higher admission charge may be mutually agreed between the Clubs concerned.
The Away Club’s spectators can only be charged more than the home team if agreed
by both clubs.
(iii) The price for admission for children and senior citizens must be mutually agreed
between the Clubs concerned.

Someone commented that attendance against Hudds depends on ticket prices. According to FA Cup Rules, games from the third round proper have to have a minimum adult charge of £15. What with our maximum advanced price of £18, there isn't much room for manoeuvre.

Donny were a conference team like 5 seasons ago, where did they get all this cash?
Millionaire owner John Ryan pumping millions into the club.

I maybe wrong here but i am under the impression that players that are out on loan to other clubs cannot play against there parent club.
No such rules - it all depends on what both clubs agree when the loan is finalised. And Shez has said the club didn't insist on Ricketts being ineligible to play against his parent club.

around 200 sounds about right
Official site says 182, which looks about right!
Yeah, I got annoyed about advanced sale - never announced by our ticket office, because I could have saved £2!

Did he win??? Missed it again.
Finished joint second on 28, 3 points behind the winner (I think). Matthew chose Alfred the Great and got 15 in his specialist round.
Well done, Matthew.

Hoskins? not sure where he stands at Millwall.
Hoskins has gone back to Watford after playing us on Saturday.

the lookers will be coming down asap. whether work starts immediately on the new stand is another thing but it would be cheaper in the long run to just knock it down and relocate fans rather than spend more money maintaining it
On Latics World interview, AH says that 'some work' will start on Broadway Stand soon after the New Year, and with a projected building schedule of 72 weeks, a new stand with all associated facilities should be ready for the start of 2009/10 season.
-
The Frank Whittle Partnership, which drew up nthe plans, says work will start on site early next year.
I don't think so. The Club only has an outline permission for redeveloping Broadway Stand and will be a few months before detailed planning permission is submitted, approved, then tendering and commencement of work. Then there is finance...

Fishul site says normal league prices apply and has a link to our usual home game price list, so £14 in NSM Paddock when bought in advance. So I don't know how they reconcile that with the FA Cup rules.
