Bet you've been waiting for this. You were a massive Sheridan outer the first time he was in charge permanently.

Actually I am a football romantic. I wanted him to succeed bit it's clear he's not the answer. You could look at a Mans ambition  in life would you take the same job 4 times?? It smacks of desperation all round from him and the club. If I was to put money in I wouldn't keep doing the same old same old that's got us nowhere. Let's just end it for all concerned and have a clean break and fresh start. Sentiment never won anything.

  2. It wouldn't be harsh or unusual if Sheridan was gone now.

No manager would be given the time he has and we are not improving.

Improvement is Winning games and to put it simply we are not.

For me he's the past and we have to move on for good, we can't keep being sentimental in our failings now. It's sad but it's time.

  3. There's a few things here looking at the facts we are bottom. Haven't won at home yet. Signed numerous players Sheridan hasn't had any influence in. Why should we prolong the inevitable?

I welcome the investment but for me Sheridan can go. Same old excuses every game we can all see we are weak at the back and the Gerrard Clarke partnership isn't working. If Sheridan had any relevance in the future of Latics we would have sorted the defence rather than reserve midfielders and wingers.

  4. Well it goes without saying that we needed that and a slight air of belief was visibly seen creeping back into some of the fans exiting the ground over the somme (car park) back to their cars and making their way home.

But yesterday apart from having my first legal alcoholic beverage in the chaddy I did something that really shocked me to the core!

I found myself watching the Football League show and agreeing 100% with Steve Claridge!!

When it was suggested to Steve that Simon Corney would quit if we got relegated he was rightly so bemused.
He went on to say it’s easy for people to offer critique but how many people would step up to the mark and take over?

“You have got to be careful what you wish for at times".

Everyone on here has an opinion about Simon Corney but in the cold light of day and if we were to look at the books realistically The three Amigos saved us and Simon carried on throwing good money after Bad and continues to operate this club to the best of his abilities both financially and ethically.

The reason for the tone of my post is that after being shocked at myself agreeing with steve, it reminded me that I found myself sat in my seat looking at the Rocky yesterday wondering why on earth such a fuss was made and decisions reversed for what seemed to be so few fans that actually stayed in the Rocky?

Has social media, Facebook & OWTB become the scourge of the Oldham Athletic boardroom and decision making process for the greater good?

We have a Chairman that has put his all on the line for us and continues to do so when many more would have walked away and did.

He's come out and made such a sweeping statement and I can’t help but feel its partly down to the attitudes of some people on here and the tedious rigmaroles we have to go through when trying to keep the cyber fan happy!!

Personally I think we should have more dialogue with the club through the trust and feedback should be fed through that way rather than the 'fan' who may or may not attend games that make their voices heard loudest on decisions that don’t really affect them whilst sat at home on their PC's.

    Thoughts Welcome....
(I appreciate the contradictions in posting on here saying this, but Barry and a meeting is nowhere to be seen....YET lol)

  5. Admittedly I did boo at HT simply because it was painfull to watch and there was no commitment or sense of urgency whatsoever the players didn't look bothered we were two down and to them it meant nothing. I am sick to the backteeth of this support the lads brigade, the critique should now surely be aimed at the manager and players especially after taking into account our home form. Out of 21 games at home this year in all comps we have won just 7!! That's not just bad form that's support killing club going out of existence trends we have to improve at home its those fans that keep the club running! Effectively this year its like saying around 67% of the time we won't win at home, your lucky people just boo with that stat!

  6. I am not sure how long he has got left contract wise but like you i obviously prefer a two or even three year plan with core players it would be the ideal but cash dictates for us.

Danny is on the up and has attracted interest so depending on contract terms games like liverpool could be more about being able to keep players than buy.

That said we need a striker even if danny stays.
