that's a better standard than the SPL surely?

dont most players leaving the SPL end up at championship clubs - therefore being relegated would make their level on par with us??? thats my understanding

one of the things their blaming isd lack of season ticket sales, to be fair though - some of the key players of last season who helpt keep us up are now gone, no announcement of replacements really apart from rumours of trialists that seem to fizzle out seconds after they've been said on here and no real word on an assistant! what do they expect?? looking at that i can understand why people aren't shelling out £300+ quid for a ticket of misery, not to mention that man city and blackburn are doin cheaper season tickets than us and those fans are watching priemer league football with some quality players! i think they've brought this on themselves with the way the club has been run - be one critisism after another with their decisions - the managers theyve chosen, the stadium farce etc.....

good look to them but we need help - anyone going on dragons den soon?........

if the "assistants" contract expired 1st july then why have we still not announced anything????

nothing is being announced about the team and backroom staff and we're just over a month away from the season starting????

i was in the shop the other day speaking to one of the groundsman - he didnt say who it was but that it was the worst kept secret and could only be announced on july 1st due to his contract expiring then.

i went to the latics shop the other day and spoke to one of the staff - apparently the "new" assistant manager has been at latics already for a little while but it cant be announced until july 1st as the person in question is still in contract with another club.

i'm just happy to hear that the players are raring to go as heart in the game was a one of the major problems i thought last season so thats gotta be a plus for my excitement for the new season!!!!

The one piece of advice I'd give a prospective teacher is don't take yourself too seriously. Students have a lot more time for you and respond far better, if you're willing to laugh at yourself when you it up.

i do like to build up a rapport with the students and i'm always the first to laugh at myself - just about to start a 3 week placement at Crompton House High School so i'll see how that goes! all my placement s so far have been wythenshawe and thats why i love inner city schools - kids are funny and mental! saw a kid once trieding to "football header" a bare wire they had ripped down from the ceiling which powered the it suite! the Head told me to hang back and wait till they got bored - no one intervened! haha

My dad did his B.Ed Hons Maths and ICT at Didsbury. He did ok with it, been a head of year, head of maths, senior teacher, deputy head, OFSTED, Teacher Training, Attendance, etc.... then returned to teaching maths as enjoyed it most.

 

He says there are 141 maths posts this week and 52 History, 15 humanities jobs.

 

BUT a lot of schools being sqeezed financially and shedding posts 9 redundancies at his school. Also the Accademy mergers shedding jobs. If he hears of anything will post it.

 

Says anyone with Maths is safe.... Are Dave Wilson, Barbara Craig still about?

mmu didsbury has a high turn over at lecturors - the only barbara i know of is barbara binns? she does seem to have been there that long she is part of the furniture! i can understand its going to be hard work - nut i work in a call centre pt! anythingis better than that! so im already used to be being told to f**k off on a daily basis

The only advice I can give you is don't get carried away with the incredible highs and don't be too despondent when you hit the inevitable lows. Be reflective, always try to improve and strive to be the very best you can. Work hard and you will be rewarded but put your life on hold for a year! You will resent what you are doing at times, when you want to go to that big away game you won't be able to, when you fancy a pint, or the cinema etc midweek the chances are you won't have time but remember its YOU that CHOSE this career! Good Luck mate, it's bloody hard work but rewarding!

thanks, im really looking forward to the challenge - im currently at MMU doin a BA Hons with Maths and education with qts. just finished 2nd year exams today so beer and pizza.

Achieved QTS! Now just need a job so if any of you Latics fans that are Education Professionals and I know there's a few, hear anything about History/Humanities jobs coming up give me a shout. Not bothered about the location.

 

It's been a long 6 years, but hopefully now I can have 'some' of my life back...

Going on saturday as a family ( 16 of us in total ) My mother and father who are in their seventies are coming along but would be in need of some seating, although we don't require a meal.

Does anyone know if it's easy to get any seats?

Also is it better to pre-book our visit or can we just turn up on the night?

Seats are a little snugg from what i can remember last time and if you want to be outside with the atmosphere i dont think theres any. its best to book - i did and you can get some good packages which can save you money ( free bets, beer tokens etc...)

the same shots on sat that were mainly at him - which he comes out halfway thru half time to practice to put fans minds at ease to prove he CAN catch even tho he has all week to practice it?

def give him a new contract but he has been slipping recently - not concentrating and letting the ball run away from him, hope his confidence hasnt been knocked cos his contract is up!

are we talking about the same keeper? sure he's made ome good saves but its his consistent cock ups that have cost us dear! as for his clean sheets? i'd sooner applaud the defenders as last weeks game when he last had a clean sheet was because they rarely got a shot it thanks to gregan and rubes! brill has cost us (IMHO not Fact) at least 12 points this season due to his anticts and in this league would of had us sitting pretty in the top half of the table.

brill is crap - fleming should never have gone and flahaven when we signed him shouldnt have spent so long on the bench!

but what do i know - captain crackpots in charge!

glad we won! glad brill got dropped and the 2 on latics player raved about flahavan ! good times - brill dont stop in the changes room, keep going all the way back to where you came from!

i hate to say this but there is a big awareness drive in our university at the moment about this - i think its the ADHD drugs that people are taking to make them more aware and therefore take in more information during the lectures. i dont know the science behind how it works and why but apparently a lot of people are taking them.

devastated even tho i can see it coming! just a thought - if i get a season ticket and we are relegated, surely the season tickets wont be the same price for the division below? if they are will i get refunded the difference???
