  2. I dont know if anybody has been watching the program names in the title of the thread, on sky 1 - But its basically the X factor of football with the winner getting a contract with inter milan. On tonights program Ben Greenhalgh was named the competition winner after months of trials (good player, ronaldo like!). It got me wondering - why anybody in england didnt try to sign him earlier. Not only that, but the runners up looked like very good young propects. It seems Watford have signed the runner up. Why not us?! did we even try?! probably not! there was also players who had 2 leave the competition due to injury, could we not look into getting these players up for trials? some talented players there to say the least...
  3. I reckon that if the players are reading this we should give them some praise & inspiration to get their confidence back & get them playing like Brazil: Keigan Parker: Your an absoulute sensation. You always put in 110% and are the most unselfish player I've ever witnessed playing football. Sean Greagan: Your ability to shoot from your own half & your skill on the ballmakes you one of the leagues most exciting young prospects. Dean Smalley: Personally one of my favourite players, Gattuso like. Always gets stuck in, rarely looses the ball and totally dedication in when going in for the challenge. Dean Furman: What can I say, keep playing the way you are and I think you are a candidate for player of the tournament at the World Cup. Please feel free to add your praise for any other players...
  4. I said possibility! plus if a was a player, manager or owner i would want to know what the fans were saying... wouldnt you?
  5. Personally i think our fans are abit quick on jumping on the band wagon, and this can only heap pressure on players. some players thrive on pressure, some dont. those that do - play in the premiership!
  6. Ive just been thinking of the possibility that some of the squad members could possibly come on OWTB, could possibly see half of the users calling for their heads and could possibly knock their confidence or desire to play for OAFC and could possibly be a reason for half of the team not perfoming? thats just a possible thought...
  7. Sky Sports: Oldham Athletic midfielder Dean Furman has set his sights on winning a place in the South Africa squad for this summer's World Cup. The 21-year-old has been called up to the squad before, but has not yet managed to earn his first cap for his country. However, the former Rangers youngster admits that he would love to feature for his country on home soil at the prestigious tournament this summer. "I think that every player's dream is to play at the World Cup and with South Africa being the host nation, it makes it even more unbelievable for me to get into the squad for it," Furman told skysports.com. "All I can do is keep playing well for Oldham and hope that someone is watching at the other end." There was a time when international footballers were only selected from the top leagues around the world, but the likes of Patrick Kisnorbo and Christian Dailly have helped raise the profile of the lower leagues in England, and Furman is hoping he can add his name to that ever-growing list. He added: "The Championship is a very strong division and League One is getting more competitive every year as big sides like Leeds, Norwich and Southampton continue to drop down. "So, it does boast some quality players including a number of internationals, which has helped raise the profile of the division."
  8. well thats 41 more than what you brought to Boundary Park and your lot were silent too so i suppose that at least makes our fans better than yours!
  9. agreed, but theres still the doom and gloom fans amongst us!
  10. I think I noticed some text on one of the drawing plans which said the capacity was going to be between 10 - 12 thousand
  11. just dont go expecting Wembley and you will be fine ;)
  12. overall I have to say I'm impressed. From the outside the stadium in my opinion shows individuality, from the inside - well for a 1 tierd stadium - I dont think they could of done much better. There is two corner stands connecting 3 stands together whilst one stand behind goal has no corners, probably for the expansion when needed. green light off me...
  13. if the insurance pays a players wages when injured, how much do you reckon Owen's premium is?! I dont think hes got any NCB's...
  14. hes been in good form, would have picked him over Hazell... but thats just my opinion!
  15. I know he was training with us in pre season before going to train with Blackpool but i thought the reason why we didnt offer him a contract was because we couldnt afford him? I've only just found out he ended up signing for Morecambe! and now SPL side St Johnstone want him... We should of at least made an offer, even now... we need decent competition for centre backs
  16. Penneys Preachers Priceless Parker Strikeless Smalley Worthington Who? Lee's Plea Goodbye Goodwin
  17. I was more concerned about him being an ex rugby player! I think gregs rugby tackle on the millwall forward on saturday was enough for me!
  18. ''Jamie Smith (Jama)- Defender Age - unknown previous club - Darlington rugby club'' better not be!
  19. No worries, no offence taken. I'm only passing on info! I dont know why its after saturday, possibly: getting the funds together to get rid of him? finding the right man for the job?
