O'Grady says do it like this.....
Well - that's what Simon says...

Just occasionally stories like this come along and restore your faith in human nature. What a selfless and kindhearted person this lady must be.
But you'll notice, in the last line of the Chron story, I am apparently trying to have a date with her!
She's not contacted me yet.
-
After the match yesterday I lost my season ticket. Someone picked it up and she phoned me to say she had found it - didn't leave a name or phone number. And then early this morning she dropped it through my letterbox.
The season ticket has your name but not your address or phone number on it. So she's done some detective work, been kind enough to leave a message, and then bothered to come round to my house and anonymously return the valuable item.
I have no idea who you are, madam. I am most grateful indeed for this very kind act. I suppose it's unlikely that you are a Latics fan and read this board. But in case you do, or a friend brings it to your attention, you are most kind and I would love to thank you personally.
The person who dropped the ticket is also very relieved!

In his interview he said it would be late September before he started training again.
He played for the youth team yesterday. Looks impressive. I was surprised that on a Saturday there was no first team match, there weren't more of us there to watch the young prospects. It's free after all.
And Alan Hardy chipped his old cup.
Anything else?

how far is that williams from fitness?
He played for the youth team against Walsall yesterday.

The dog ate mine.

I was talking to a committed Leicester supporter yesterday who knows some of the players and he said how very pleasantly surprised they are by the standard of football in League One. In fact he said if anything it's been better than the Championship in terms of teams who keep the ball down, playing a passing game and so on.
Any comments nussul?

Stefan Stam gets it for me, he did an amazing job against Dickinson today. I really rated Dickinson in the playoff final last season but he's turned into a nast piece of work over the summer.

Who is McGrath?
Also known as O'Grady

Hey! What about Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang?
-
Even if Gregan is suspended for the next game (which he doesn't deserve to be), Richie Byrne looked reasonable at centre-half and made one positive contribution. Plus isn't Stam close to being fit? We will have enough cover at the back for Huddersfield (its just a pity Gregan- at the mo- won't be up against Keigan Parker)
Stam played most of the reserves' match against Bury on Wednesday.

What, we had Gérard Depardieu playing for us
He didn't impress any more than Depardieu.
-
the left winger was poo.
keiran lee started at right back, if that bolsters your eardley to go leanings
I was impressed with Lee when he moved into midfield near the end.

We won 2-1 , report on the official website.
Dale Stephens was very good I thought, and Richie Byrne was outstanding. Two good goals, taken well by O'Grady and Davies, one in each half.
A nasty injury (head or neck) to a Bury player which required three physios and a doctor to attend him in the goalmouth.
I thought Kalala played quite well until he hurt himself near the end. I didn't rate the two triallists.
But then I know nothing.

Thank you for you intelligent and fair match report. A good read!
I'm glad you had a good day despite the result. We look forward to receiving your hospitality later in the season.
The standard of your analysis and writing rather shames us on this messageboard which is increasingly ill-tempered and ignorant in places.

Mark Crossley - no question. Outstanding!
-
or how about latics blog tv where you can see the person live on chat
Or how about a webcam at BP so we can watch the groundsman cutting the grass when we've nothing better to do?
-
There are some good pictures on a Tranmere site. Two beauties of Mark Allott bringing his man down from a prone position!
-
Hope that helps, can't really tell you everything tbh
That's great! Thanks.

Some good words from Hazell in his interview, especially about supporting the whole team.
So, for those of us too poor for World, or with superior technology, could you give us a few quotes, in your own words of course?

Smalley? Two votes?!!

I was born in May 1954. In the final match of that season on April 29th we lost 4-0 nil to Everton. That was our third 4-0 defeat that season in the old division 2. We were also on the wrong end of a 7-0 and an 8-0 in the league that same season!
In fact we only won three matches all season. But one of them was Leeds.

Roche tipping O'gradys over the crossbar, when it was heading for the top corner....absolute quality save
I don't think I've ever seen one better. It was superb (and gutting).

Congestion trying to get into the stadium. Radio Essex says it's very empty inside the ground now.
Team is same as Cheltenham match.
It's a lovely sunny day with a cooling breeze!
