  1. You need to spend money to get out of the division.

To spend money you need to have money first, to get more money we need more fans, to get more fans you need a winning team, to get a winning team you need good players, to get good players you need more money.

It's a vicious circle, also spending money doesnt gurantee success, we only have to cast our minds back around 6 years to see where that can lead.

  2. Like Peterborough, there three best players and the three best players in the division.

    Aaron McLean - Grays

    Craig Mackail-Smith - Dagenham Redbridge

    George Boyd - Stevenage

    Gary Hooper - Grays Athletic

    Jermaine Beckford - Wealdstone

We brought in Stephens, that's fine, but he doesn't get a chance!

Lots of quality players in this division come from Non-League but we don't seem to get them, which begs the question, how good/poor is our scouting?

We need to stop picking up Championship rejects, and League One relegation no hopers!

It's all well and good saying that but good non league players still cost money!!! People like McLean, Boyd and Mackail Smith all went for big 6 figure fees. Money we just dont have. Gary Hooper cost the best part of 80k, granted Beckford could have been for a nominal fee. But I'm afraid that free transfers are the way forward again for us. At least for the time being we have a manager who can spot a rough diamond.

  3. Kabba seems to constantly have his back to goal and goes down blind alleys. I stevie wonder if he knows where the net is

I think the way we play doesnt really help Kabba, he plays best on the shoulder of the last defender making runs behind the defence, unfortuantley we have no one in midfield who can play the passes he needs.

A pointless signing I think, only because of the way we play though.

  4. For me Smalley is the best youngster what we have produced in recent times apart from Alsessandra, who I beleive one day will make us a fortune.

The major problem Smalley has at the minute, is he doesn't know how good he actually is, as a Winger I would back him time after time to produce "more end product" than Taylor.

Definatley wouldn't be selling unless it was a stupid offer and in my opinion that would mean anything over 400k, with players like Smalley if he goes on to have a good start to next season his value will increase, and we would look like mugs for selling.

  5. Am I the only person who finds that the people at the ticket office act like your causing a huge nuisance by wanting to purchase tickets from them?

Not really the women are always really, relly helpfull and friendly but there was this bloke there, not seen him for a while and the contempt he had for people was unbelievable, a real jobsworth if ever there was one.

  6. the first vid, around 3 minutes along when eyresy scores and the players come and congratulate him...

How many of those players would even make our bench this season?

    Bosh, Dudley, Garnett, Carlo, (hotte?)

Not many, Carlo probably would, was a good player just not a goalscorer would have been a good link up player for Hughes.

  7. Entrance - Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Goal Celebration - Collapsed Lung - Eat My Goal

Entrance should be Idle hands by gutter twins or Wake up by Arcade fire, I think Villa might already use that one.

Goal not really bothered, but who ever is charge of the Music at B.P needs to get down with the kids, think we have been stuck on that hidous Bongo song for to long!!!.

Franny "come on broady lets get the fans going, put the bongo song on"

  8. Derek rasies an intresting point in Smalley V Taylor, I am big fan of both and both have different qualities, but I feel that out of the 2 Smalley is the one who will develop into the better player.

Smalley has a good first touch he is quite big for a winger with a decent turn of pace, but crucially the thing Smalley has that I dont really see with Taylor is composure. Give smalley another season or 2 and he will be a menace to every left back in this league, Smalleys biggest problem is that he doesnt know how good he can be!

  9. The thing with O'Grady is that he looks like he has all the natural requirements to be a decent league 1 stiker big and fast, he is clearly not going to be first choice as that will be Huhes and Davies with O'Grady and Lewis providing back up. Reminds me very much of when we signed Porter people thought the 100k we paid was a rip off but if Porter had not done a runner up to Scotland we would have made 5 times our money.

Onto another point Smalley should not even be considered a striker unless encase of emergency, it's not that I dont rate him, I think he as hell of a lot of potential as a winger and thats where he needs to be played.

Some people are never happy, I think this is a decent bit of business by the club to go with Fleming and Lee, if we had signed one of the Leons or Grant Holt the wage outlay would be a lot more than on O'Grady, hopefully Shezz is saving the largest part of his budget for a playmaker or left winger. Get these 2 in and possibly a left back, and next season looks very promising.

    Well done TTA and Shezz.
