    Bring back some 'old school' chants?

    As a kid a favourite was:

    It was vaguely musical but with emphasis on the insulting word (edited for the sensitive and young). Not saying I condone insults, just recalling my youth stood under the yellow lighting in the Chaddy End.

     

    I didn't like it when the oppo fans declared "You're going home in a feckin ambulance" though. Oddly enough it never happened.

    The loss for me is the beauty of a night match. That first time. The cool night air, the floodlights drawing the crowd like moths to a flame, the bovril somehow smelling stronger, the grass greener as you emerge from the bowel of the stand, the shirts somehow brighter, the voices carrying further, the words lingering, the net rippling slightly more, the feeling of that first time. Stays forever. Now, potentially lost and denied to many a youngster.

     

    Mind you, I won't miss the yellow gloom of Vale away and the drive home muttering about another bitter to take result......

    So we have two players with double barrelled surnames and Rochdale had one, which set me thinking if there could be a team of like named current players inc 2 subs and a manager? seem to be lots of forwards but struggling with defenders. Try to keep to their positions in a 4-4-2. Here's a start:

    Let's get the North Stand rockin today, get behind the lads from the off and enjoy hopefully getting out of the bottom four. And another £50 off the season ticket wouldn't go amiss!

     

    Will the "ooh-ahh" chant I heard at Wigan raise its head? Don't why but I found it mildly entertaining.

     

    Enjoy and send the Dale home miserable.

    Maybe Alan Stubbs will arrange contact with us again. Must have seen something about us as a club that would suit JB. Perhaps it could work again or perhaps we move on and hope we can do a deal with the likes of Palmer. Then again just watched some footage from Forest away in FA cup. Always makes me happy! Best 2nd half especially those 7-8 minutes.....sigh.
