True but Davies could be just as effective used as a late sub, I put the idea out there before the last game that Holloway must be close to a start and I think that's still the case, Davies may benefit from a game or twos rest but I suspect he wouldn't agree.

I thought we'd get to see what he could do over 90 vs Carlise but it was Byrne who was refused permission to play rather than Doyle

I'd love to see Davis put in performances like he did vs Blackburn week in week out. Absolutely bullied their defence, brought down every ball like he wasn't being challenged and distributed it well. He seems to be drifting out wide too much now

I went along Saturday and enjoyed the 2nd half a lot and it could have gone either way. I thought Eves was a nuisance and threat for most of the game. Agree with most of the comments on Byrne, yes our most creative player but should share his work more. My main observation was Aaron Holloway and what a difference he made again after coming on and I feel he makes a more telling contribution  than Davies- he regularly wins the aerial duels and remains on his feet most of the time and brings others into play.

I also thought Fane made a real contribution and is continuing to improve.

Overall I thought we all played well and worked well as a team.

Holloway must be wondering what he has to do to get a start. Davis has gone off the boil compared to his form after Wellens was put in charge. I'd like to see him given a chance to see what he can do over the 90 but he's very effective coming on in the last 20/30 mins when teams are tiring

They are keen to book a player for taking his shirt off yet won't apply this rule.

Counting to 6 might be beyond the ability of some of the refs we get.... or maybe they just can't be arsed

The ref we had vs Scunthorpe didn't have the ability to count the 10 yards for free kicks.... or maybe he couldn't be arsed

    6 seconds I believe

It was only taken seriously during the world cup where the rule was trialed when you had keepers sprinting across the box to throw it for a counter. The season it was introduced into the league most keepers tried not to take the piss by holding it for over 10 seconds.... now nobody gives a toss

I can't.  It serves no purpose.  Someone said earlier we would all do the same if we didn't get paid.  I seriously doubt that most people would be on twitter telling the world, as most people would fear they may get in trouble with their employer or at the very least ruin their relationship.  Footballers live in a different world to the rest of us where they have long fixed term contracts, not 1 or 3 month notice periods and the ability to be sacked within 2 years for feck all.

The new regime may think "this Gerrard is a trouble causer"... or they may not.

I was in a job where we were told they didn't know when they could pay us, I secured another job and handed in my notice within 2 weeks.

Footballers can't do that due to being contracted. Other than getting lawyers involved, venting his frustrations is about all he can do

I don't bother with any public social media but I'd have no worries stating that I hadn't been paid which is a fact. No way you could get into trouble for it or else they'd have the worry of an unfair dismissal trial on their hands as well as not being able to pay their staff

  6. Against Blackburn I was worried when he was constantly 1 vs 2 or 1 vs 3 but he seemed to cope (just about) even after he got that soft yellow when Conway (i think) was playing for the foul like he did all game.

He copes well and is somewhat of an unsung hero because he allows other players to play to their strengths

Still can't help but feel it's a weakness of ours that could be exploited and he needs more assistance

  7. If the investers have any money then they would surely see these 2 as an investment to (a) get fans into the ground (b) a higher resale value and (c) have any chance of promotion

the asking prices may get pushed up if they keep up the performances and clubs know we have funds if/when the takeover happens

Well it was a joke but obviously some people on here can't handle it.

Plus the content is true. Not so much the cheap option but the amount of first time managers we've appointed in the last 8 years that haven't worked .... Moore, Talbot & Sheridan on the other hand ....

    Frizzell, Royle

    Quiet down now please
