  1. It will cost at least twice that, cup games will cost extra and there will be no nosh off.

Not off miss Jolie anyway :disappointed:

The football won't be great, it will be cold and often wet and will take ages to get out of the car park.

    Especially in a 1982 Capri

The pies will be as unappetising as ever, don't get me started on the excuse for coffee (even though it is the best it has been ever) the toilets will be terrible and the away fans will sing more.

The strike it lucky first prize will get lower and lower as the crowd does and the programme will not be value for money, the new away kit will look awful and some of the signings will be terrible. Shez will say some silly things and the crowd will boo at half time if we are drawing/losing, some of the players first touch will be abysmal and some of the shots will hit the roof of the Chaddy or go out for a throw-in. The stewarding will be heavy handed and the PA will sound terrible and play crap records.

Apart from that it'll be a right laugh. So ditch them shopping bags, put two fingers up at Jeff Stelling and get on down to Boundary Park, where all your dreams will come true (subject to status, terms apply). :chubb:

  2. Your answers are all perfectly valid explanations as to why you didn't know about it BB80 but with the exception of drawing more attention to the post on here what else could the organisers have done to get around any of those circumstances?

They don't operate/maintain the inaudible PA, they presumably can't afford to buy you a house in Oldham, they can't force you to read the posters that you choose to ignore (and I can understand why you do!) they are not landlords of the pathetic sky watching red/blue scum pubs you describe (I share your dislike for such venues) and they can't dictate to the club that their requests must be put on the website.

It is very regrettable that more people didn't know about the forum but I think the organisers attempts to publicise it were satisfactory.

Organizers maybe did all they could, but communication between them and the club is poor. Posters in the ground from years ago leads to apathy and is poor. Media relations are generally............................poor. All the fans on here can't be wrong. :gathering2:

  3. So do I! However, there are plenty who find them easy-peasy, but they tend to forget that when on board with Latics it's a very special sort of roller-coaster. Then they want to get off part-way through the ride because they're disappointed with the level of thrills. They ask the owners of the ride to drop prices to entice them back, even though they're bored with the ride. Others have learned to jump on board to experience the thrills of the rides that coincide with Cup days, or the really big ride at places such as Blackpool.

AHHHH! but now we have options!! The horsecoaster or the galloping pig the same size as a car. Can the pig hook up to the back of the horsecoaster?? If so, that would be dreamland. KEEP THE FAITH :laught16:

  4. the ifs n buts dont count what counts is the here n now, this is a :censored: league n we all know it,but show me 1 team apart from Swansea who have been consistent all season,we've not been brilliant this season in fact far from it but the fact is the season is not over we are only 3 pts off the playoffs thats not bad considering,if we are in the playoffs this season great but if not we have a good team (apart from the odd couple)that we can build a playoff/automatic pushing team, its not some thing that happens over night all u have to do is look at the most successful managers around n see how long they have been at that club it takes time n that is what we have to give shez n his team.KTF.

Totaly agree pal..... :latics: ......good post. Still building a team, mainly of youngsters who will be inconsistant. What gets me is some fans complain about the players consistancy, when they aren't consistant about whether we will get in the playoffs or not! One week we win and we're going up-- :stupid: --the next we lose and have no chance. We are only 3 points off the playoffs and it is still up for grabs, hopefully we'll be the lucky ones. Get behind the team and you never know :ktf: It's ok to be dissapointed if we don't get there, what we don't need is fans saying :bat: ' I told you so'. :chubb:

  5. This was in the Daily record today.................................................................

Gretna Captain Set To Leave For England

    Mar 15 2008

    Gretna In Crisis...

GRETNA captain Paul Murray could be offered an escape route by Oldham.

The midfielder is wanted by the English League One promotion play-off hopefuls.

Murray, 31, will be available for free if Gretna fail to pay off their debts. The entire first-team squad have been told their contracts will be ripped up if the Raydale Park outfit close.

And Murray could be one of the first to find a new club.

Boundary Park manager John Sheridan could use the unexpected availability of the former England B international to bolster his squad ahead of the run-in.

Murray signed a one-year deal with Gretna last June and has made 23 appearances for the club and scored once.

He has previously played for Southampton, had two spells at Carlisle and once landed a £300,000 move to QPR.

  6. There are obvious flaws to this method. If it was accurate then Swansea would gain maximum points whilst Vale will not pick up another point. Bristol Rovers in particular suffer as it doesn't take into account false league positions due to games in hand. It also takes no account of home advantage, the possibility of draws, a team coming out of nowhere a la Blackpool or higher scoring matches than 1-0!!!!!. However, as I said, it also doesn't add in any bias (either positive or negative) that we as Latics fans are inclined to apply. As such, I suspect it probably won't be a million miles away.

Maybe your whole ethos is flawed then! :laught16::laught16::laught16:

  7. Precisely Lazerwind - did you see the Tranny fans on Saturday? How many of them were sat in the first 10 /15 rows? :titanic:

Garcon - agree completely on the Lookers boys/girls who want to go in RRE, and about the fact that a fair proportion of Cheddy Enders will go in the RRE when the Chaddy comes down, although by that point there will be a lovely new main stand where the Lookers is now selling delic :drinking66::drinking66: ious cold beer in comfortable surroundings, so I reckon a fair few (including me) will go in there.

    arrrrgggggghhhhhh! cooooooooooooooold beeeeeeeeeeeeeeer! :drinking66:

  8. Realistically though, it's not tranmere we'll have to get past. Leeds and Southend both also have a game in hand on tranmere and are level on games with us.

I'd also watch out for the teams below us who have games in hand - anyone as Bristol Rovers could catch us and the other play off hopefuls, and possbily hudds too with their game in hand?

Agree totalt, Tranmere will not be in the mix, Leeds are the team to watch especially if they succeed with their appeal.

  9. Completely agree with that exile. Was having a conversation with Parigby a few weeks back (during the window) and he was saying that he feared that Sheridan was making the eaxact same mistakes during this window as he did the last. The fact that we have also had Greegs Lidds and Hughes all out injured has left us criminally short of experience.

I DO NOT think that getting rid of the manager is the right thing to do, but I think we have to see real progression next season, in terms of NOT seeing these mistakes recurring.

Agreed that the same mistakes should not be made, but in my opinion Shez has done well in the transfer market. He doesn't just bring anyone in, just players who will improve the squad. Shez is doing a :sign0173: KTF

  10. Hey my name is John Sheridan and I can't attract big players; I can only attract people like:

    Michael Ricketts

    Craig Davies

    Neil Kilkenny

    Mark Crossley

    Lee Hughes

I also make terrible signings like:

    Reuben Hazell

    Mark Allott

    Jason Jarrett

    David Livermore

In my first season I only managed to get my team to finish 6th, when previously we finished 8th. Also, we had a disappointing F.A Cup, we only reached the 4th round and only managed to beat Doncaster away and Everton away. I am such a terrible manager that in my second season and with a new team I lie 8 points off the playoffs with a game in hand and a match against the team who currently sit 6th. That's put my team 2 hole points behind a playoff place. Boy I sure am a total failure. I should be fired A.S.A.P

:applause1: Couldn't agree more Pukka, quality post. Shez will come good, KEEP THE FAITH
