I am very confident this weekend and never been so excited over an Oldham game since well a long time.....

I think what people are forgetting is that Joe will correct the wrongs Shez has left behind there is no doubt of that. Shez left a talented squad who where ill disciplined and had about as much motivation as a dead rat, now there is no doubt in my mind that Big Joe will correct these issues immediatley (his BBC interview motivated me to call all plans off this weekend to make the game, whilst climbing mount everest naked, with a big joe tattoo on my yaris) any poor results/performances then only the players can be held responsible and they should all queue up outside shez's house ready to make a massive appology....

New managers always get an instant response, its keeping it up thats the hard part! Joe is the missing piece in our playoff jigsaw and i am looking forward to a successfull end!

Goodbye and Goodluck Shez... He lost the dressing room and was never able to get it back, he will one day be a good manager but we cant afford for our club to go down hill while he learns his trade!!

Spotted him in the City center on Wednesday (or was it Tuesday) anyway after i told him i was a tic he stopped and chatted for a while, really decent bloke... asked him about the dog scandal to see if he had any inside gossip he said apparently it was all Greegans fault.

More interestingly we started to chat about Shez and our current positions to which he commented on "Oldham are so frustrating, they did it when i was there got in a great position and it up and now theyre doing it again"... "this is shez's squad and by all accounts he has lost the dressing room, even though i like him, think it might be time for him to move on" he then added that he had a lot of time for Oldham and really wanted to stay with them but he needed to get into the Championship!

P.S how the hell can he afford to be driving the car he is... flash git!

Cant believe we got beat 4-0 by Stockport in a storyline on Holyoaks.... shez has got to go!

the manager they had last season got them to 7th playing some good football and a never say die attitude (ie equalising with last kick of game at boundary park)

 

yet they sacked him, and im sure most brighton fans would agree without just cause

Shame really on paper they were starting to get a good squad together they should of give him more time for his signings to settle in!

For a couple of seasons I have had a policy of 'consolation' betting using Betfair.com

 

I bet on the oppostion to win for a Latics away game i.e. I lose if we pick up an away point or better.

I 'lay' Latics to win to win for a Latics home game i.e. I lose if we get 3 points.

I also tend to put money on our rivals to win i.e. at the moment Leeds, Millwall etc. Again if they drop points I lose.

 

If we have a bad weekend I get some cash back, if I lose money then it tends to mean a good weekend for Latics.

 

What do people think about this? I have had some grief from fans of other clubs at work about it being out of the question to bet against your own team.

I always bet with my heart and thats why i always lose... Suppose either way you get something out of it but not something i could every do its either all or nothing

My biggest football win wasnt on latics but was latics related....

Hartlepool where playing a midweek fixture (Cheltenham i think) and i fancied a little punt but didnt really know what score to put down, so i remembered back to our 4-1 drubbing last season so stuck a fiver on it came out with over £150...

I have never won a bet on a latics game, i did go through a phase of backing them to win 4-0 (thought it must happen some day) never did... so sensibly decieded to give up betting on them....

Dont know if this was picked up on last week but thought id post anyway and this is one of the first chances iv had to come on here...... This is in no way a gripe but have to admit i thought it was a bit wrong...

Once the players came out for the second half and lined up for the kick off Hughesy shouted to shez on the touchlines "what formation we playing" .... at first i thought it was Hughesy being either deaf or ignorrant (as he is ageing) Shez kindly pointed out we were playing 4-3-3 with windy dropping deep. More worryingly around 5-10 mins into the second half Windass came towards the bench and shouted "what formation we playing 4-3-3 or 4-4-2"

Now was this due to it being two ageing players not listening or did shez not bother to tell the team of the tactics he wished them to play!!! Quite worrying when your 1-0 up and players dont know what tactics they are supposed to be playing.......

Another worth a mention was Greegans words of wisdom in his programme notes how he hates to play against "the nippy strikers" as he has a hard job keeping up (maybe thats where we are going wrong) Both center backs arent the quickest of players and do struggle against teams with a fast attack, think we need someone a little more pacier than what we have, they play well against the Akinfenwa's (may i add he is a little beefier than i remember) of this world! Getting this sorted IMO will be crucial in our promotion push as Rubes and Greegs cant cope when someone with a little pace comes along!!

Anybody else heard any amusing/worrying player/manager interaction whilst sat in the paddock?

I dont think we would be able to buy shirts as a limited number may be made and auctioned off after the game........

Gregan on Granada news today mentioned it would be good to see the fans in them and they will be available to buy... I would imagine the shirts they wear for the game will be available to buy at auction.. would love a pink kit, anyone know if any others will go on open sale?

Young(ish) english keeper, 3 appearences in league football, conceded 1 goal, 1 man of the match gong.... Step forward Dean Windass to solve all our keeper issues. (Ok so the stats are his words and yet need to be clarified)

Reading the comments on here week on week, you would of thought that Tics fans are happy for us to be a mid table mediocre team...... Today was CRAP we should be beating these teams at home pure and simple!!!

14 from the season before was what i was refering to it may have been in 42 but we didnt exactly have a decent midfield to provide him with chances did we.. Who cares weather 3 where in 1 game or not goals are goals! he's young, quick and can score goals. Take your blinkers off!! Just because he will no longer wear a latics shirt dosent mean he aint any good....

Striker.... Scores 14 goals in a season as well as being young and showing lots of promise...

Dont play him send him on loan to a local rival.... scores loads of goals, and plays very very well....

Comes back to Oldham dont play him....

Sorry but this has to be one of the worst decisions iv seen, everytime iv been to latics this season shez has done nothing but berate him from the touch line instead of nurturing him into the quality player that he will turn into!!!
