  1. fleming for me

I have no problem with supple in net or fleming for that matter altho CF does like to give away pens rushing off his line both decent young keepers

  2. Think there is a more than fair chance Lee playing.

Taylor will play wide Lewis up front - may even have 5 across the middle unless we deploy some really young players we have 0 options up front so anything could be tried.

Actually now i have had a minute to think I rekon Allot and Lewis will be the strike force. Taylor right side (if fit), Ferreira left Lee and whits in the middle????

  3. A subscription only messageboard? It's probably a good thing as it will provide an opportunity for the standard of the board to recover, although we can say goodbye to the odd respectable visiting fan.

I also suspect the charge will lower membership levels/activity to what was manageable for free.

    That was my thinking.

  4. Id have Macca over Whitts, Allott, or Maher anyday.

Y tho???? When was Macca really that good? He had a good start to his latics career got a few goals but then drifted away much like Whittaker has done this season.

Both are a bit soft and dont put many challenges in but will get goals going forward. Macca used to throw his dummy out eveytime someone takcled him from behind hed sit on the floor and winge at the ref while the oposition ran straight through us. Whittaker is better passer, can take a man on a can shoot with both feet hes not a brilliant player but he has his moments. Macca had the odd good game but unless he scored he didnt offer us that much

  5. Untill the end of the summer there isnt really a good indicator of who's a team to watch. Teams could be desimated in the summer i think most squads in this league will have a fair turn over of players. The teams taht come down will all ways fancy there chances - didnt we so many years ago but by christmas realisation wil probably have struck home

  6. The thing is for the critisism he gets for giving players grief ive also noticed a fair few pats on backs and well dones going round. he was doing it with Hines when he first came, he did it with supple the other day v tranmere where to me Gregan was ackowledging he had made a mistake.

I agree he is arrogant the back heel to no one v tranmere was not good and he seems to have a habbit of playing hollywood balls when we are loosing.

At times when things aren't going well i get the impression that hes thinking im too good for this and his heads goes down.. But he has had some immense games this season Leeds both home and away spring to mind. He can be done for pace but so can most defenders in this league.

Hes a talker and shouter but thats what we need our lads are to quiet if they get upset because he gives them a rocket every now and again maybe they should think about another job. Yeah he blames other people for his mistakes a fair bit but hes not the only guilty of that in out team....

I think he has another season left in him

  7. It has to be a striker - someone who can play alongside Hughes, someone who gets into the box, someone with height and power and pace, someone who scores goals - must be plenty of 'em about surely

For me its somehow who ca deal with the ball. Dont care if its winger, centre mid of a forward these days if we are under pressue the lads hoof it first time with one exception Chris Taylor. We need someone else who can take control of the ball and find another blue shirt even with a defender breathing down his neck

  8. spouting bollocks like that, you should be nowhere near a keyboard, nevermind typing.

Lids can do a job when we are in front and looking to close the game out but going forward unless he has miles of space he is a liability. Defenders know there is no threat in behind so they can get tight on him pressure him and either get him to miss place a pass or tackle him. The fat lady has been warming up since christmas its time for others players to come in now

  9. Just can't wait for tomorrow. I haven't been this excited since god knows when.

Walking out after the Colchester game was just so depressing, our season gone up in smoke. I managed to drag up the enthusiasm to drive down to MK in the belief that we play better against the better teams and to an extent we did, although the result would suggest otherwise. After MK, my thoughts were that the loan signings were costing us, Jones apart they have been either last minute emergencies i.e. Budtz or unnecessary, unimaginative and not what we needed. We needed a central midfielder to get us going quicker, a higher tempo.

What a difference 72 hours have made. Out go Windass, Budtz, Hines and I would imagine Goldbourne in the next few days and already in we have Supple & Westlake. Thats the difference. Decisive and knowledgeable

Joe knows what he wants. He's not perfect and he will make mistakes. However, he is older, wiser and has far more experience than when he was first here. Initiall he only has 9 (hopefully 12) games, so he can't afford mistakes, however, the fans are galvanised, the town is buzzing and hopefully, the players will be flying.

    Bring it on.

Only 1 more sleep!!!! I feel like a kid again.

    Cheers,

    Harry.

P.S. All we have to do now is get Coco and the Corporal in confident moods and all will be right in the world.

Im the same have been all week really cant wait would love to batter Tranmere and get us up and running again.

I have said it all season and tomos is no different we need to score first and early. keep the crowd on side and the atmosphere bouncing. Can not wait

  10. Just reading that post Prozac brought back one of my abiding memories from the Royle era. Standing in the Chaddy End singing "Score in a minute, we're gonna score in a minute", and knowing what it was extremely probable that you actually would.

Or knowing that you were guaranteed goals in the Cheddy End - "Score in the Chaddy, we always score in the Chaddy"!

See this is getting daft i can not belive how excited i am for saturday bit of a grudge match, Big joe back and everyone of us is hoping for miracles fingers xed they come off - i might have a bet of gregan to score just to top it off

  11. Yeah im hoping for some movement in there get Gregan and co moving into the box when the ball is sent in from the corner. Far easier to get height on the run and a lot harder to stop hopefully corners improve for the next few games cause we havent had a threat from them for so long we hardly ever score from them yet we can be in double figures for the amount we have been awarded.

  12.

    Supple

    Eardley Gregan Stam Lomax

    Taylor Maher Allot Jones

    Kabba Hughes

I know Jones likes to say hes a full back but he can deal with the ball and hes a brilliant crosser get him going forward.

To be honest we could end up with any permiation (ill will more thank likely be wrong with my suggestion)

ill be interested to see if Taylor stays on the left wing.
