  1. " I hope the club are thinking hard of ways to attract more fans. Maybe a better approach when it comes to cup games."

How do u mean? in terms of match day prices for cup games?

I must admit the pay of the day price for some cup games puts me off going and judging by the 3k turn outs we get others as well. For games like this (im thinking the likes of carlises a few seasons back when we went out on pens it was freeezing and the match dire) surley it would be better to drop any notion off taking money on the day and and just try and get people in the ground. Especially kids they have a nag factor that few parents can resist. Which could spill over into the league - problem is there the pay on the day price is still way to high

  2. I have always thought Brill was rubbish - flaps on crosses all the time. Maybe i havent seen enuff of him

IF we could get a Clarke/Holt/ constantine then we would have a good range of strikers. Pace Davies, a taget man New signing, a goal scorer Hughes and the promising youngster in Lewis A.

My biggest worry is the left side we need a left winger and a left back and then maybe even another left sided player who could slot in when injuries etc take hold.

If Eardley goes Lomax i would expect to be first choice RB so that would leave us really short on the left side.

Liddell should be shown the door or at least drop to being a bench player at best so Taylor should move over to his natural side and then we need to fins someone to spay the ball about and unlock teams ala Wellens and Kilkenny no names spring to mind tho.

  3. My problem is that if Liddell stays he will be first choice. He is one of sheridans fav players.

Liddell for me is shot, he cant run anymore, cant take anyone on yes if we create a a bit of room he can whip a decent ball in but we carry too many passangers at the moment people who can do 1 thing, like gary mac in the team cause he can shoot - thats it. Kalala in the team cause he scraps for the ball. We cant carry liddell as well. if he is going to be in and around the squad then fine but if hes first choice week in week out and not performing ill be p****** off.

Taylor should be on the right now where he can produce a ball, doesnt have to worry about getting his feet right he can just do whats natural to a right footed winger. I think it was Walsall where he was on the right hand side for a while and within in the space of a few minutes had 3 dangerous crosses in the box and had turned their fullback inside out. Lidds (not directly) has been a detriement to our youngsters not getting time in their correct positions. he was awful when fit this season and his injury was a mixed blessing. It left us short but has given smally some time on the pitch - and while he hasnt won everyone over he has had his moments where you can see some quality

  4. average. I expected a long hard season and we have got one. Bar the odd highlight. Leeds away Everton etc. its been a crap season in a league as weak as its ever beem. I have said all along that the balance of the team wasnt right and hasnt been all season. With a couple of decent additions we would have been near the plays off or above easily.

  5. personally he has been a letdown during his time here. yes, he has scored two, but his general work rate, and his finishing have been nowhere. he went through again 1 on 1 with the keeper today and should have buried it but he just let the keeper take it off him. rather put a fit allessandra in there along side jarrett.

This is the endless problem with latics fans if a forward doesnt run around like wanre or carlo they are lazy and dont work. Were u watching today? Leon won several flicks held the ball well and showed for the ball all the time. he also worked hard in channels and tried to close down - he isnt quick hes not always going to get there. Hes just returned from injury and its shown at times but he was very very good today. Hes the type of forward we needed. Yes he missed one chance he scored the other one he had - no one scores all the time hes proven at this level and to loose him would be massive blow.

  6. http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2234486,00.html

In November he joined a local road safety campaigner, Sharon Crowshaw, to promote the message at Oldham's pupil reference centre. "He said he wanted to help my campaign and he has been true to his word," said Crowshaw, whose son Carl was killed by a drink-driver in 2005 and who was initially against Oldham offering Hughes a contract. "He has shown remorse for what he did and apologised and he is delivering on the promises he made to the community."

  7. I might do - but i can see the cost of them pushing 400 and i cant justify that the standard have football has been crap and we have a manger who appears to be next to clueless at time

I still cant get over how thick sheridan was at the start of the season for not signing any left sided players. The team has struggled for balance all season long and even now we are persisiting with playing players wide left who cant use thier left, a center mid (who cant take anyone on) wide right in gary mac a left sided midfielder in defence etc and then as keeper cover we use an untried kid and when crossley gets injured hes isnt good enuff for the first team cover should have been brought in a lot sooner

I think the idea of doing a "bradford" is the most sensible option and almost the only way the club can improve gates.

The club has to get ticket prices right next season otherwise the average home gates will drop lower and lower

  8. Liddell shouldnt be anywhere near the first xi - his legs are almost totally gone and if he gets another contract hes holding the development of taylor/smally etc back

Livermore left taylor right its that simple

  9. i can cope with him being dropped for a game as his confidence looks shot to hell, he knows he isnt going to put too many decent balls in at pace left footed he just cant do it. hes playing in the wrong position where hes being double marked most of the time. Hes not been great lately but i just think hes playing in the wrong position

  10. The council barely has any money to miss manage. Most of the borough is on some kind of benefit - its no surprise there has been no inestment but the town is going right down hill fast and i can only see it getting worse unless a raft of jobs are created somewhere and i just cant see that happening - even with the proposed development at latics

  11. I must admit im not proud of this town - i used to love it but then i took the rose tinted glasses off.

Nightlife is the same anywhere. i must admit when i go out in huddersfield i see far less trouble than I do in Oldham (but thats probably luck of the draw)

Oldham itself has been going down hill for years:

It has a shopping centre with a lot of empty units.

    As mentioned no lesiure faiclitis

A flagship sports centre that is a dump

Possibly the most stupid bus station design in the north of England

The race riots have destroyed the image of the town in many peoples eyes

The whole area is becoming infested with chav scum u see it everywhere u look.

The football club is about the only good thing in this town and yet the bloody council would rather us go to the wall

  12. he looked fed up to me when he scored on saturday. He must be fed up with playing on the wrong side knowing that 9 times out of 10 he cant put a decent ball in left footed it must be driving him mad. He is probably one of our best attacking players but we waste him on the left wing - it drives me tapped. I want to slap sheridan stupid. Taylor right wing, Lomas left back (wheres hes decent) and Livermore left wing. OR if Livermore has to play left wing back about putting someone who isnt half the threat taylor is out there someone like Gary Mac. The team is unbalenced as sin but at least leave Taylor in is best position

  13. Jarret just he was excellent strong rarely wasted a pass and did some damage further forward

Thought Allot was solid but no more

Smally was excellent as was Alessandra

    Taylor was good at times

Hard to ignore Maccas two goals even tho he didnt do too much else

Lomax was steady as was Stam

I gave it to Jarret - just
