The new guys have played one game,lets judge when they have played at least ten.With the height we have we should be threatening from set plays.At times we were but we also conceded from one,it works both ways.

He may well pass the physical tests they do but unless my eyes and those of my old man sat next to me are going then he appears to have a gut.I went to the game,didnt criticise him or any of the other players because I cant fault their commitment,however if Reid is carrying a few pounds and Feeney played all last season carrying two extra stone then surely we should expect better of professional athletes.

The situation with Reid is a strange one.He was released by Latics then was kept on but with reduced terms thus you would expect he was keen to stay and impress.However he still looks overweight despite a pre season so if I can see that than surely the management can.I agree the service the strikers recieved was poor at best and any striker will struggle in that case but surely the players should be physically fit.Feeney lost two stone over the summer,does that mean he also got through the whole of last season carrying too much timber?

Yeah not good really,I thought he was supposed to be useful at dead balls but his corners generally hit the first man.Saying that its early days and he is only young,we have him until November so plenty of time to improve.

Communication at the back could take a while with Aussie,Scottish,French and Manc accents flying around!

No complaints with the keeper,I think he will prove to be a good buy.Diamond too looked pretty good,just hope Dickov has a plan for the midfield,not creative enough and too lightweight.We wont concede many this season but I worry where the goals are coming from.

I thought that last season he looked overweight,when I heard a forward had lost two stone I presumed it was Reid.However today we could have had Rooney and Drogba up front and they would have struggled with that service.Midfield to me was the issue,nobody,Taylor apart,getting ahead or joining the strikers or offering any support.Have not seen the Spanish lad so cant comment but Lund didnt convince me today that he is the awnser.Morais will make a difference for sure but how nice it would be to have a Sheridan or Wellens type in there with Furman.Ah well only one game,lets win on Tuesday!

Dont think Winchester looks comfortable right midfield.Whilst moving Lee there would look a good bet he has done so well at full back its a tough call.Could this new guy Parker play there with his pace,miss Phillip Morris tomorrow.
