  1. Brave move from PD; and a correct one too I have to say.

Yes we've "only" drawn with Chesterfield, but it's a point gained; not a loss. Smith has scored on a rare start which will do him the power of good; and as is said above; some players who have quite clearly needed a 'rest' (I say dropping like! )have had that today.

JYM was only just back from injury so 2 games in 3 days might have been a push for him. Parker is also only just back from a long-term injury and has played a lot of 90mins in a short space of time, and Morais has scored 2 goals in 3 games prior to this one; and done well when come on so was knocking on the door for a start. My views on Kuqi being dropped are known; so I am happy PD has been brave enough to do that today also.

Right, onwards to Anfield now; with 3 players rested; 1 not risked but likely to fit for the trip; and some of the squad fringe players staking a claim o play. Heathly position to be in ahead of the 'big game' I say.......

Gotta disagree with that....deffo 2 points dropped

  2. the gaffer highlighted that the crowd boo'd morais when he came on.....and how well he did despite this....is this the case or were the fans booing because scapuzzi was taken off.....tbh there were a fare few voicing there concerns for which ever decision it was..........I was dissapointed to see Scapuzzi going off instead of Tayls or Parker......but the gaffer explained he was feeling his hamstring at H/T and was taken off precautionary....you dont always see things as black n white when yer sat in the stands......IN DICKOV WE TRUST

  3. only my opinion.....I think linking playershare with allocation of tickets is a great idea....regular subscribers should be treated the same as season ticket holders. you help the club and the club helps you, also tokens in programmes is a definate no no....i take my son (home and away) super fan? i like to think so, and my mate takes 3his 2 sons, people tend to buy a programme per family......therefore a ticket for me n my mate but none for our sons (the future).....happy new year....god bless you all

  4. I have read pretty much every thread on the ticket saga, i dont see a real reason as to why they wont sell the upper tier, surely the first 100 tickets sold will cover expenses (catering, stewarding etc) then the rest is profit, i dont get it? pull yer fingers out scousers and let the rest o the blue army see the game!

  5. I dont know the severity of bigJeans injury but it didnt look good, i hope n pray it isnt as bad as i fear, he was mom by a million mile before his exit today, it dosnt bode well for tuesday, the sarfend front 2 caused us all sorts of problems in the first game, clarkey does not have the same presence,,,,,,get well soon big fella

  6. Pinch me? not quite, but beat Chesterfield and get to the final and it is bigger than the last one IMO. I went to Wembley in 1990 and was first there, arriving at before 7 am, great parking space and a day tube ticket to see the sights....was fantastic BUT THIS TIME. my lad is just 16, I never thought I would see another human being with the same passion i have over the latics, but it is definately him, he comes to the games (home n away) with a few mates who are all 16 n under and he still recruits regularly.......to cut it short, IF I COULD WALK DOWN WEMBLEY WAY TO WATCH THE LATICS WITH MY BOY BY MY SIDE....YES!! IT WOULD BE PINCH ME ALL OVER AGAIN.

  7. with Southend being so near to christmas .the powers that be have made it affordable to all. £5 for an adult match ticket on production of voucher A. (there will be lots of spare voucher A's available) £12.50 on the coach with the Junction..£2.50 yer H/T pie.....£20 to travel down south and watch your beloved and belt out the first rendition of Jingle bells....u know it makes sense

  8. Latics fans never cease to amaze me, a million different opinions, happy clappers, berators and the quiet,,,BUT give them the opportunity and they will turn out in their droves. yesterday the support in numbers was fantastic. we must be one of the best supported clubs away from home in the country going off average home attendance. the buses on the motorway, the taking over and singing in their pub, the camaraderie under the stands before ko........its away days, and its what its all about,,,,,,,,congratulations to each and every one of you,,,,,,fingers crossed for the JPT coz WE/YOU DESERVE WEMBLEY

  9. Welcome on board Bradley.

He's been very patient as he's been here a good while now hasn't he? He was sat in full training gear with BD & a high squad number (20-odd) on it at the Carlisle game; sat on the bench (talking to Mike Newton) so it looked like he was going to be joining us from that. Laughing & joking with Tarky too so English doesn't seem to be a problem to him.

Mixed bag of comments on here about him - I haven't seen him play as he didn't get on Vs. Burnley which was the only home pre-season game I saw.

Ah well - let's hope we've unearthed a good 'un. At the very least he adds to competition at FB, someone to push Paul Black a la Evina last year.

Guess he'll be straight into the squad for tomorrow?

i was one of the positives about this lad, does'nt look big and hefty but very strong in the tackle, does not look like CB tho. good luck dude and welcome to the club...
