  1. I think East Rochdale can get by perfectly well without being associated with a bunch of hillbillys with an eye for a well-groomed fleece, thank you very much. Anyway, I long ago founded the Rochalian Oldham Affiliated Supporters Trust. The Roasters are planning a wide range of social events, and are especially keen to attract more female members to the group.

    OR SHEEP!!! :laught16:

  2. Right well I'm fed up of being left out. As of 00.19 on 12 Feb 2008, out of a love for Oldham Athletic and a coincidental name clash with a fish, the

    Nottingham and East Midlands Oldhamers

was born. Current membership stands at one, and any willing to join are more than welcome to subject to geographical suitability.

i feel left out to, so i also want to start my own group

Shaw & Crompton Urban Member Based Athletics Group of Supporters.

at the moment only one member but im sure as word gets out all the other SCUMBAGS.of Shaw will get behind this one. :naughty:

  3. Damn. I was trying to avoid using the word "Beard" twice in the same sentence.

But your namesake Frank Beard is the only one in ZZ Top who hasn't got any chin hair!

    :)

should be frank tash then. look like the wifes had a vote 1 for yes!

  4. What should i do,not shaved since Davies scored at Swansea was going to this morning only to read he's got credited another goal, look like Grizzly Adams and the wifes not happy :bat: .Do i leave it untill he scores at brizzl or shud i just shave it and keep er indoors appy?

  5. Two goals in two games and the way he fed in Lewis for his chance plus the balls he put in to the box make a striker. Davies had a quality end to the game and looks like he is going to have a cracking end to the season.

1 goal from open play 13 games!!!!!!! striker?

  6. I think the answer was more to do with Jarrett who was anonymous in the first half and bossed things in the second. All the midfield seemed to be 15 yards futher forward and hey presto Davies was being brought into the game. I thought he was unlucky when his shot hit the keepers foot, laid one on a plate for Alessandra whose touch was bloody awful and then put 2 of the best crosses in we've seen all season. Thought Macca looked good too Livermore looked like he could be handy on the LHS of midfield but is not a fullback. Pleased that taylor scored and some things worked for him in the secondhalf. He tries his guts out and it really matters to him.

Don't know if the Carpathia has been called to this one but a bloke in front of me says Livermore has a clause in his contract with Hull which says if he plays 25 games he gets another 12 months. Would make sense and that sort of thing has been done before e.g. Gregan.

note taylor scored coming from the right!!!!!! right?

  7. I am sorry to say this and I am not one of the so called Boo Boy's. Davies in the first half was awful as was the rest of the team until Taylor scored! I am glad he changed his boots at half time, he played much better once he ditched the Orange boots.

We should have started with Lomax in as left back. But I suppose that because he has signed Livermore he now has to play him.

The second half was better but we were still poor today. On a plus point I though Jarrett's shot that hit the crossbar was very unlucky not to go in, Goal of the season I think that would have been

Mc d shot davies boots were bright all i could bsee first half! mom was definatly rubes he played a blinder imo come on davies your getting back but still away to go yet 1 goal dont make a striker.

  8. I remember that. It was a horrible photo.

The incident was at home against Burnley though and was one of the first instances of real trouble that I saw. In those days, there was no segregation but before kick-off, the police moved all the Latics fans (including me and my dad who always used to stand in the Rochdale Road End) into the Paddocks.

That was the re-start of football violence in this Country and the following years were often a little hairy.

    what year was it

  9. Probably very late 70s early 80s i remember seeing picture on the front of the O EC a mate of my brothers with a dart in his head it happened at BP,i dont no who we were playin but for some reason i think it was Leeds!!

just wondering if he ever went to a match again

if they ever found the thrower.

does anybody else remember this and if there were any other bad memories from BP?

  10. mmm..just got me thinking this.

i've read the thread regarding being from oldham, born in oldham etc...

    now,i was born near cambridge.

i didn't arrive in oldham till i was about 5...old man in the RAF

all my parents/grandparents are from oldham.

do i qualify as a potential "proper" oldhamer who supports oldham,or shall i look as to what division cambridge utd play in these days and start afresh with them?

Mmmmm! :mmm: have you ever been to cambridge game as a fan? can you remember anything of your time in cambridge as a kid ? where are your parents from?

  11. Year would be about 1976-76-77 , Paul Edwards was a good player , we bought him from Manure for £10K +/-

He was part part of our 3rd Div Champions team (squad)

just checkin its my uncle lol  this is the reason im a latics fan and the fact that i was BORN IN OLDHAM

and thats me far left on the keep the faith banner

  12. Although a slight copy of Newcastle and City...i rate the scarf idea.

For our next away game likely to have a large crowd which will probs now be next season e.g. Leeds, Hudds, or even Dale if they make it...I had the idea of the club purchasing aload of scarfs, half of the load blue, half tangerine or white, dont have to be the best quality or have the badge on or anything so they arre cheap enough to buy.

Then when purchasing a ticket, each fan is given a scarf. And even to avoid our slightly stingy clubs costs, we could add 50p onto the ticket price, which im sure fans wouldnt mind paying.

    Just an idea though!

went to a game at olympic stdium a s roma ticket was cheap and your program and other bumph was on your seat waiting for you allin the price!!!! exchange rate made it about £15, top atmosphere.
