  1. 1. I came on here to reply to some totally silly comments by your fans. 2. Your defenders did a decent job on Jordan but at times it took three to stop him by throwing themselves to the ground and faking injury. 3. From where I was sitting, it didn't exactly seem like a large number of your fans had come for a jolly afternoon of pleasantries either! Now you mention it, the words Oldham Athletic and pathetic fit together even better! Come on man, your lads gave it a bloody good go. As the game went on I was convinced you'd force a draw or that you might just nick one at the end. As it turned out we 'nicked' it! You slag us off if you like but just two League One defeats in 51 matches must say something? No?
  2. Okay I'll admit we're :censored:e! In a :censored:e League but I can live with that, cos we're 3rd and you are errrrrm,...where are you now?...oh yeah...6fooooking teeeenth!
  3. Of teams trying to play that 'hardwork' stuff you were very average in fact! The best at that crap are Stevenage, by a country mile! That's all! So I'll 'jog on', 'piss off to sheep land' or do what ever you like but that's my honest view.
  4. Piss-pot-ical comments in my view! EVERY TEAM WE PLAY AT HOME, DO WHAT YOUR LADS DID! Some get lucky, your lads DIDN'T Get over it!.
  5. If I had a fiver for every opposing fan who's said their team played very well against us in the last twelve months I'd be a very rich man! Honest! Some have even said it's the best they've played all season after games. These sorts of comments are made all the more astounding when you consider we've now lost only two in 51 League One matches. Oldham played exactly like most teams do against us at the Galpharm, all effort, hard work and running but like most others, lacked quality in the final third. The ref was abysmal and seemed to fall for every fake injury and complaint, he was truly :censored:e! This type of game (and football) is one of the reasons I hope to Dear God we're able to rise above this level soon because quite frankly, it is utter rubbish. Well played Oldham for frustrating us for nearly an hour and a half but please - I hope we never have to play a Paul Dickov team ever again
  6. Come to the Galpharm today, why don't you? And look at the set-up, look at the playing squad and then tell us we're :censored:e, punching above or below our weight! I'd be interested! What I do know your club is insignificant compared to where we are overall! That's what I honestly think! - (Just watch now your lads will piss all over us today (such is the penalty for being a gob:censored:e ) but even so I'll still believe we're quite some way above Oldham Athletic as a football Club
  7. Believe it or not but our fans are like a dry tinder just waiting to ignite! Another home defeat and they'll be calling for heads to roll especially if they don't approve of the team or the formation we play today. Expectation is so massive that the slightest slip up (and today will be seen as that unless we take maximum points) then they'll be calling for Lee Clark to be fired. The fact that we've lost only two League One games in 50 appears not to matter! All they will focus on is not being in an automatic promotion place. It really has got that desperate with some of our fans .
  8. Apart from Jordan's amazing movement, ability to find space and score great goals he's also very willing to learn and develop. When interviewed after his latest goal scoring feats, scoring all our four goals at Sheff Wed just before Christmas and his five goal haul at Wycombe last Friday, he deflects all the plaudits and praises the work of his team mates. When he's asked about being checked on by as many as a dozen Premiership scouts at our matches he just says they could be there to watch anyone, He's a very level headed sensible lad and in these days of fame and celebrity it really is a refreshing change. I'd love it if he went on to do great things at the highest level and sometimes allow myself to dream it will be with us but in reality, I doubt it somehow!
  9. Hmm...that sound pretty spot on mate! Basically our defending isn't great and we do tend to get caught in the wide positions. Jack Hunt (our right back) is tremendous going forward, a real talent but he gets caught on the counter-attack. Gary Naysmith on the other side is solid and very experienced but again he gets caught on occasions mainly through his lack of pace. So yeah...if you have the players to exploit those weaknesses it could be fruitful. Taylor always seems to stand out against us so where ever he plays we'll have to try to nullify his contribution. It's going to be interesting. You'd think after winning 0-6 away last week we'd be full of ourselves wouldn't you? - It does work like that at Huddersfield Town, we've had the rug pulled from under us too many times for that I'm afraid. Which I expect is welcome news to your ears!
  10. I'm pretty convinced Jordan Rhodes will be a Huddersfield Town player at until the Summer at least and if we gain promotion he might be with us for a while longer. He's an intelligent young man and knows if he transferred to a Premiership club his chances of playing every week would be greatly reduced and if he was at a top six club, he'd hardly get a look in. He's also level headed enough to realise he's still learning his craft and playing games albeit at lower perhaps is vital to his development. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he did stay with us to test himself in the Championship before the big step up! Maybe that's wishful thinking on my part but crucially, it all rests on HTFC gaining promotion. As for todays game! Teams that 'cut off the supply' to Jordan seem to fair pretty well because basically, if gets a chance he scores, simple as. Obviously he's in a red hot vein of form at the moment but that's largely because of the support he gets from his team mates. The truth is if you stop Rhodes, Roberts, Novak and Ward are all capable of scoring, not to mention our other midfielders. Teams that do well at the Galpharm these days tend to come to play a 'pressing game'. They usually push defenders high, pack midfield and look to play either over the top or get wide and put crosses in. On the other hand, teams who try to play 'football' tend to come unstuck I'm afraid. So I have feeling Paul D. will play it tight and stick to a game plan that suits his players. You always seem to be a pretty determined side against us no matter what formation you play so I'm certain its going to a tough one for us either way. If your lads 'get at us' early on and play with intensity and a high tempo you could be on to something. The vital thing is, if you do get on top you'll need to score because we won't stop attacking no matter how you play it! You lot got any views on any of this? Safe journey over t'hill and here's to a good game on what looks like an ideal day for football! Regards - AceT HTFC
  11. The funniest thing I've read for a long time is, we (Huddersfield) practice cheating (falling over) on the training ground. Now that is the most stupid assertion I have ever ever read. And the most ridiculous thing is, the guy who wrote it probably believes it!
  12. We just don't like players kicking ours. It's not a contact sport any more, whether we like it or not - it isn't. The problem was the match officials were stuck back in the dark ages too and hardly spoke to players about their conduct! - All we needed when playing a team who were always going to ruff us up!
  13. Rivalry is one thing but I can't believe some of the stuff written on here about Saturday's match - I really can't! Typically I suppose, the language used clearly indicates the intellect of the author/s who write such overtly biased :censored:e. Personally, I've no grievance whatsoever against your team, you came and did 'a job' on us and fair play to your lads for that. In fact, we expected little else given the importance of the game but to accuse of us of diving and cheating is utter rubbish. Especially as the treatment that Alan Lee got from your two centre backs (without any protection from the match officials) was nothing short of scandalous. As for him throwing himself on the ground, are you saying he injured himself when he needed five stitches in the head? I know Alan's been in football a long time and he knows a trick or two but if you believe he is nothing but honest you're totally twisted. Basically, it was a game where there was no quarter asked and none given but if your asking questions of our lads what about Chris Taylor? I know the lad's a passionate Oldham fan and therefore plays with his heart on his sleeve but why does he ruin his excellent reputation by faking injury, conning the ref and constantly trying to get players booked? As I say, I've no problem with your team but I feel I should defend some of our lads. No doubt you wish, as we do, we'd had enough knowhow to beat you on Saturday but stupid comments regarding our players and our fans is bloody pathetic! To be honest I thought Oldham Athletic fans were more realistic and honest than that. Rant Over! Have a nice day! AceT.
  14. Well apart from the inevitable infantile insults from the minority that populate fans message boards I think the comments on here are fair enough. Basically, I thought both teams cancelled each other out but the last thing you need in a closely fought contest is an inconsistent referee and that's what we got. The result being, you never know what will happen next, which you could say is entertaining but in fact becomes frustrating. I know you won't agree but in my view the way Alan Lee was being treated by your defenders it was a surprise you ended the game with eleven men on the pitch. Some wagg on here commented that we hoofed the ball a lot but that's inevitable when midfield is so competitive, isn't that what Oldham planned to do? - Disrupt our play? There was no time and no space to make it a good game of passing football. As I said on the pre-match thread teams that come with 'a plan' to play with a high back line and squeeze play seem to do well against us and you did exactly that. Not complaining, but before hand you all seemed to think you'd come and attack us, well if you call hoofing the ball up the pitch from the back 'attacking' then yes you did! If I'm honest I'm not surprised it ended all square because in contrast to some of the high scoring predictions I was half expecting it being very tight. I'm not sure how you'll see this but I thought you looked a lot like Millwall did last season. Dogged in midfield, resolute in defence, very determined and a sprinkling of 'flare' players to do some damage when things open up. You ought to see that as a massive plus because they beat us easily in the play-offs and are now a Championship team that's doing very well up there. Until next time - Regards AceT
