  1. Anyone who was seated would have seen this - cannot see it mentioned. The team and Mr Penney took a fair amount of stick from some fans who were booing and shouting as they went back in at full time. I was not one of them, but equally could not applaud them either, as I thought it was a very lacklustre half hearted performance from the Latics, and thought we were lucky to get the point. The apology from Mr Penney is for this : if I had been the manager of that bunch of players, I would have put my head down as I went past the fans. Mr Penney, though, chose to get level with us, then he smirked at the stand of us. My husband had to physically hold me back, as I was itching to follow him down the tunnel and give him a piece of my mind - how utterly despicable for all the travelling fans - he should hang his head in shame, as he obviously has no respect for any of us - leave now and lets have someone who can inject some passion, and someone who has some interest in what happens to the club.

And while I am at it, what a dump of a ground - no light in the toilets - Latics Lady not a happy bunny, and made my feelings clear to a steward.

By the way, well done to the 393 who went.

  2. What a wonderful age to get to. Don't know u personally but my heart goes out to you - losing a parent is unthinkable to me. Hope you have plenty of family and friend's support - my sincere condolences and love to you xx

  3. So we have waited one month and we sign on loan a player from a team in our division - didn't work with Constantine and bet this won't either. Sorry to be so negative, and will obviously give him a chance, but waiting a month for a decent striker then bringing someone in who is not playing regular football for Milwall - very disappointing, and we have relegation battle going through the team like a stick of rock. Sorry DP, but think you could have done better. Does not bode well.

  4. Think we should all give ourselves a very large pat on the back - which other set of supporters are going to watch such utter half hearted rubbish by a bunch of so-called professionals who could not be bothered, yet we were all able to sing and create an atmosphere like that. The ticket business yesterday also left a lot to be desired, as a lot seemed to have bought tickets together but were given seats in different rows. Also, the chaos in trying to get everyone seated was a disgrace - reminded me of Brentford a couple of seasons away.

If we were in the league table of supporters, we would be top of the Premiership. IMO the Oldham outfit as a whole (manager, owners and players) leave a lot to be desired. Why are we all putting the effort in - was a trek from Leicester yesterday, with woman flu, never mind how many had to travel all the way from Oldham. What a shame the players could not put in the effort we did. "Lets pretend we scored a goal" - brilliant - thats why I am proud of being a supporter. Just not sure when I can be bothered to go again yet - might wait to see them put a bit more effort in - but we will see ...

  5. Don't have a season ticket but get up to BP about once a month. Last season I found the Chaddy end did not have much voice like it used to - no offence to anyone intended, and I know we were dealt some testing times at some of the games I saw, granted. Just as a matter of interest, are people sticking with the RRE or coming back to the Chaddy.

Still working hard to get up for next week after my whiplash injury but am determined I will do my utmost to be there - thanks for all the good wishes from everyone - much appreciated xx

  6. I know it is not football related, but I know others air their views and I know quite a few on here. I had a car accident on Monday when a car hit me from behind at quite a speed and shunted me into the one in front. As a result of this, I have whiplash, and am currently on the sick. Everyone (family and friends) tell me I should be pursuing a personal injury claim, as the lady who hit me has admitted full responsibility. My car has £2,500 worth of damage.

Has anyone been in this position, and does anyone have any advice? I am in no way the sort to claim what I can get in this compensation climate, but two friends I have spoken to have had neck problems years down the line, so I am also thinking about the future. Also, with my nerves in tatters, I am hoping I can get to the first game (getting my priorities right of course!) as I have not missed the first game for as long as I can remember.

Over to you lads and lasses, and hope you are all having a better closed season than me, as this is my 2nd sickness absence in two months! After 5 years of a 100% work attendance rate.

  7. I would like to echo: with the bitterly disappointing end to the season, you would never have thought it at Walsall, it was more like a promotion party. Every was happy, singing non stop (cue one sore throat) and the fancy dress effort was brilliant. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. We all made it a good end to the season.
