If that's the case and we go down he will get a lot of flak for not insisting on his own men just because the club wants to save money.
The one thing we have done well this season is keep the ball out of the net.
Last season Sheridan brought Shirtliff in to organise that side, while he concentrated on the offence.
Perhaps he thinks these two gave done well enough to carry on?

Away fans having a kick about at half time at the back of the RRE terrace.
-
He must be dead not to be getting a game in front of Reckord...
Who will be hung out to dry just as Reckord is with no support on the left hand side!
-
Not sure about Shaw.
We don't need to be told in Shaw.
20 houses on our street with six season ticket holders, two pay on the dayers and a ball boy. Such a shame the rest of the town is full of plastic Mancs!
-
The clue is in the header. It's purely to warm up the muscles.
Just a shame we couldn't warm Kettings hands up! ?

Just seen this, regretting the £26 now.
He didn't disappoint!
-
He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

Indeed I will be happy to be proved wrong if we got there.
Me too!
-
No I don't 10-20% some would say maybe but 50% that's unrealistic.
Hopefully one day we will get to find out ☺

Burnley have more of a history than we do and as a result have a bigger core support in their town than we do.
I do believe though that we have a fairly large dormant support in the town/borough that given success we could tap into. Getting into the championship could see us get gates of around 10000 to begin with and if we challenged to get into the premiership at the top end of the championship could see us get gates of around 12/13/14000 depending on what kind of state of ground and capacity we would have at that time. But we are a million miles away from that currently so it's all hypothetical.
You need to reduce those estimates by 50%.

Cue Darren.
He's been sacked again

Now a decision hasn't yet been made....
No mention of Shez in the article though....
http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/14465097.Wanderers_still_deciding_on_next_manager/
Reading that article, any manager in a job who takes that on has lost their marbles!
-
Sheridan has signed his son Jay as a scholar for next season. Surely he can't abandon him!
-
Had Dunn been appointed in May or June I'd agree. Dropping him in it when we did was flawed. And not a good way for him to build a team either.
Lord John has been dropped in it even deeper but seems to be doing okay. Dunn will never be a manager as long as he has a hole in his.....

Jenny has confirmed that it is pay on the turnstiles tomorrow on Twitter.
Tickets on sale until 5 o'clock. Just got two.
-
Presume we can pay on the night? Does anyone know if this would be on the turnstiles or do we have to go to a ticket office first?
Was going to ask the same. Official website as much use as a chocolate fireguard for information!

The problem is can any manager change the mentality of these players?
No as soon as we cross the halfway line we turn back and end up playing back towards our own goal. Kelly is the biggest culprit, however most of the time he has a complete lack of options in front of him.

Colchester went 3 at the back in the second half, leaving plenty of space wide which we never effectively utilised.
Croft and Yeats would have hugged those touchlines, forcing them back, Poleon was not the answer.
First priority now though might be an experienced keeper.
Poleon is never the answer!

Rumour (!) site from yesterday
01 Jan 2016 13:08:43
Oldham have accepted an offer from Crawely Town for striker Rhys Murphy, the fee is a nominal amount of around 35K, Murphy has agreed terms and will put pen to paper on a 2 year deal early next week.
I am sure there must be a bought missing!
-
Trust me, lose to them on Saturday and Dunn will be a goner. Rightly so too.
Not a chance the guy's coated in Teflon.
Let's hope we don't find out anyway.
-
It peaked when that bloke sang 'meat pie, sausage role' in front of the Chaddy. There was no topping that one.
That was Grandad Roberts.☺
-
Am I the only one who thinks Poleon should be one of, if not the, first names on the teamsheet at the moment?
No his name is Rhys Murphy
-
I don't know what will happen, but at least give the bloke a transfer window to try and do something.
No thanks, he is a walking disaster.
