  1. All is not doom and gloom. In Football Manager 2011 Man City offered to pay off the Micah Richards 20% sell on clause for £3.85 million. Needless to say, I didn't need asking twice.

I could happen in real life. You never know.

So they reckon they will get over £20m for him?? Don't mean to go into again like we have a million times, but, how much you reckon he's worth now, £8m? Just under £2m would do very nicely...

  2. To be fair, for you (and myself) calling the game at 6pm wouldn't have made a jot of difference.

The drinking started at four for me, so there was no chance of it being called off that early.

Suppose so, drinking started much earlier, but could have saved a wasted trip to Rochdale in the rain as was staying in Manchester, could have had a night out in the Printworks or whatever, but wasn't in the mood after, I only got to Rochdale about 7pm and had checked online on phone and seen Rochdale said it would be on!

  3. Surely the game could've been called off a good 2-3 hours before kick off with the rain we were having? There's no way the pitch got that bad in the hour leading up to the game. A pointless £15 wasted for me travelling over from preston anyway...

    Could have been worse...

£80 flight from Isle of Man, £42.50 Travelodge, 2 days off work, plus the obvious expense of tickets, trains, taxis, booze!!!

Saw a Rochdale fan and the plane as well!

Not please but what are you gonna do

  4. Don't know if this would work at all, but we raise money for free for the footy club I play for through a search engine and buying through a website. I would just like to point out I'm not trying to direct you at links to my club, just showing you what we do! We only have limited members so don't get too much through it, but just an idea...

  5. The funniest I've ever seen was "Junior AGoGo" on the back of their latics shirt! Strange choice as he only ever was on trail with us and never signed.... Anyone wants to own up to this one?

I remember when he played Latics in the Isle of Man tournament, I was getting autographs and was stood on his untied bootlace. He tried to walk away and nearly decked it, and turned to me in the strangest voice ever "You're standing on my shoe lace".

Was at the last ever City v United derby at Maine Road with my mum, and a girl in front of me had 'LEGAL 16' on the back, nice...

Also on holiday, a dad who supported Leek Town had a shirt with 'DAFT 1' on the back, he thought he was a hoot, I thought he was a to5ser. Over the years, had

    Eyres

    Duxbury

    Liddell

    and my name

  6. If people are leaving the site (and i know a few that are posting less and less) because of one or two attention seekers then as well as being bloody annoying the reduced traffic will surely cost the club money. (Every click earns the club money doesn't it?) A balance needs to be found. JK Latics went down a similar route - how's that site doing? (James Maker etc..) Trouble is with cyber space, things move along quickly...

I don't post on here that often but read all day at work and when at home. I don't post most of the time because I rarely get to games to comment on, and don't get many inside scoops! So in a sense if I left I would hardly be missed.

But I really am getting fed up of a lot of this forum. Some of it is brilliant, e.g. knowing Paul Dickov was manager a long time before he was, and I'm not blaming the running of it at all. It's just 2 or 3 posters, and you probably know who I mean, who just seem to come on just to wind people up, and have nothing better to do. We're supposed to be fans of the same club! Fair enough when a different fan from another club comes on etc.

I hate it when people just make up rumours, for no reason. Ridiculous ones too. I hate it when people say they have spoke to someone at the club, when they haven't. I hate it when people state facts when it's not, e.g. such and such will be named manager Monday. There's just no need to lie!

I love reading the real rumours, that people have heard, but I often can't tell now because it is awash with bullplop. The worst thing is when people state all these facts etc, when they get asked about it when it never comes true, they just say "ah well it's just a bit of fun didn't harm anyone", why say it then? We go on here to find stuff out, not read out and out bobbins!

I also hate when English is terrible, typos are fine, but disjointed sentences that don't make any sense just make it annoying to read and again there is no need. I never correct anyone on here before anyone says anything, but I know it annoys a lot of others too! This is a minor annoyance though compared to the other rubbish.

  7. L-R

Dunno , Rick Holden, Andy Rhodes, Neil Redfearn, Ian Marshall, Jon Hallworth (tubs!), Neil Adams?

Ta. I seem to be similar to Zorrro in names but question answered. Dunno on the left either, wasn't sure on Redfeard or Adams. The man I wanted confirmation on was Jon Hallworth. He comes over to the Isle of Man regularly to see Rick Holden apparently, woman next to me in work also works in a pub in Peel, where he lives. Jon is a Guinness drinker incase anyone wondered!

  8. After ending their 30+ year stay in the bottom division, are we the record holders for the longest time without going up or down in the bottom 3 leagues? If (when!) we stay up, won't that be our 15th season since going down in 1997?

So do we ignore Premiership/ top tier teams who have been there for a lot longer

Obviously. They cannot go up a division, and it is there aim to stay there! Any league below has the option to be promoted as well as relegated.
