  1. The official site says we get to go to the Memorial Ground just before they switch to Cheltenham.

At least we get to go to two different dumps instead of the same one twice!!

    Woo-hoo.

Can't read the Fishul as it crashes my Explorer at work for some reason. iwas just going off the BBC's 'last 8 or 9 games played at Whaddon Road'.

  2. It's polystyrene. Weirdo. And it's strange Gillian ran off laughing, being as sympathetic as she is!

Oi, I've got the polystyrene one. Not a fear as such, but the noise goes through me. I just have to leave the room when someone has some. It makes unpacking a new widescreen TV a real battle of wits.

Petrified of Spiders though. I have an anti-spidery device which lowers the number (well, the amount of time they spend in the house), and a Dyson has been a welcome addition to the household. The main problem is I know they are in my shed. Where the lawn mower is. So I have an extra-ordinarily long lawn at the moment.

  3. Rocastle is a strange one because he's under contract. I doubt very much if we can pay a fee so for me I don't see the deal happening.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rocky was available on a free. He did alright when he stepped in, but was hardly anywhere near first choice. Having been at Chelsea, then Sheffield Wednesday could it be that his wages are slightly large, for what you get?

Edwards I can certainly see. I can see Vale offering a first team place. I can see Vale offering more money, because of that.

  4. Maybe he just doesn't like football? It's no fun for anyone having a job you hate, as I'm sure a fair few of us can testify. The fact that we would probably do it for free doesn't change that.

The lad entered the game as a child. He'll have been told over and over what a gift this is to have, so it would be pretty hard to just chuck all that away.

Although I'm not overly happy things have gone the way they have, he'll have had his reasons and I think it's a little shortsighted of some people to be judging him without knowing his thinking. Hopefully he'll find more happiness/success in a more enjoyable (for him) profession.

  5. I personally would like to see more season ticket holders at a lower cost than fewer season ticket holders at a higher cost. I'm not sure what the financial impact is but it makes for a better atmosphere at more games because we would have fewer floating supporters and more regulars.

I agree with the lower costs, but would say aim it at the younger generation. Make it as cheap as chips for under 18's, that way we can (hopefully) build up a support over the years, and we can't be losing too much cash with this ploy.

  6. I'd have a go at:

    Pogs (c2003)

    Eardley

    Hill

    Hall (One Size)

    Armstrong

    Eyres (L)

    Wellens

    Murray

    Chris Taylor ®

    Porter

Wijnhard (presuming we are using fit players)

Bench: Blayney, Liddell, Gregan, Andrews, Duxbury

  7. I suspect if we had gone under I would have just given up on the sport. I wouldn't be able to see the point in following it any more. I'd become totally disillusioned with the sport. Move to a far off country so I didn't have to talk or watch it at all. And end up following cricket/baseball/american football.

So in short Lancs/St Louis/Arizona - although I already do support (or am a fan of) these.
